It got alot more complicated this morning. I get there and they are moving his roommate to room right NEXT door. uh? Then the head nurse of the floor comes in. They start putting up orange (?) signs. They know what the infection is in his foot. And i know my spelling is going to be screwed.....but, it's the mersa(?) .the "skin eating" bacteria. This would be the same thing in that classroom they tried pulling me to (and actually did pull me their recently).
Surgery went good. Mid-calf. He is very out of it with all the pain meds. I'm expecting at least 40-50 calls from him tonight.
I meet with the woman from our church tomorrow about the bills again.
Lastnight was hellish ...to say the least.
He called me every hr. He kept crying cause he knew something was wrong.
The i.v. they placed the night before the surgery wasn't working. So he wasn't even GETTING the pain med's. They took it out this morning when they finally realized it wasn't working and put it in his other arm. They placed the picc line this afternoon. He def seemed more himself.
He's out of the hosp. He's in the rehab now. It's a much nicer one then the last one. I'm not expecting him home till after Christmas.
The kids and i are all getting over strep.
Jim is approved for SSDI! We still aren't sure how retro our check will be. If they go back a yr it could be more then 16,000.00 !!
He got the 2nd cast off today.
As of right now, i'm scheduled to work Christmas night (3pm-11:30pm).
I am so glad you got approved for SSDI! That has to be a HUGE relief!

In not good news:
Family friend that was David's (jim's brother) Tenant "Lee" was killed lastnight in an accident. It was before the snow even started. He hit a tree head-on and was ejected from the truck, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt (had he been, he'd more then likely still be alive). He was just here on Wed picking up the Marquise for David and we saw him at SIL's christmas party last wkend. I'll edit when the obit comes out. He was only 42 or 43. His older brother died 3 yrs ago @ 43yrs old. His poor mom. The funeral is supposed to be Sat. I really wanna go but all my family is going to be here.
Jim fell today at the rehab. He fell right on the "stump". They unwrapped it and checked it. He goes back to the Dr's on Tues again.
I just need an unstressful wk.
Today really sucked. I wanted to go and see David and give my support but was afraid because the front tires on the van don't have alot of tread. I couldn't even see Jim today.
His appointment went good. They took the rest of the staples out and said it still looked awesome. He could be home by next wk.
We got some more info on Lee's accident. The firefighters who responded to the call said they checked his speed-ometer and it was stuck at 108 mph. We figure he probably hit the tree going at least 120 mph. I'm going to the funeral on Sat.
it's been crazy around here.
Jim is home. Leg is doing awesome. Eyes are another story. Surgery for them will start next wk and hopefully be done by March.
Christmas was good. The kids loved it. It really sucked not having Jim home for it.
Our taxes are already filed and being processed. We are making out awesome this yr. It helps when your taxable income is nill.
I'm planning on doing the NAT/HHA class at the red cross starting in April.
I passed the reading comprehension test for the red cross CNA class. I'm trying to shoot for the class in April. I still need to get some paperwork done.
