Thread: J's thoughts and stuff...

I've been really lazy the past couple of days. I'm blaming it on AF. Now that she is gone, I have no excuse! ~sigh~

I can't believe how cold it is outside! It is about 50 degrees! Just a few days ago it was a hundred degrees and I was wearing cutoff shorts and flip flops!

I've been shopping like a mad woman this weekend! Ugh!

You know how I have a very small shopping addiction? Well, the funny thing is....I HATE shopping for sneakers. I don't know why, I just do. I hate it with a passion. I must have tried on hundreds of pairs and I even purchased a pair but in the end I ended up returning them. I really NEED to buy a new pair but I just can't seem to find a pair I like. I guess the search continues....good thing I only buy sneakers every 3 years or so....

I had a very scary thought yesterday. Out of nowhere, I thought to myself "I guess it wouldn't be so bad to be childless for another couple of years". Um....hmmm.....okay? lol...~shrug~ Dunno....I'm not going to dissect that one right now.

So, I think my AF has changed since having 2 miscarriages. My cramps are not anywhere near as painful as they used to be. I remember being doubled over in pain the first day of heavy AF but now I just have mild dull cramps. Weird....

I really need to get a haircut. I was hoping to get one today but dang it, they are closed today. Every time I decide it’s time for a hair cut it seems like it is always on a Monday and of course they are closed on Mondays….

I hate that! When I want a haircut, I want it RIGHT. NOW. Waiting is not my strong suit.

I think it's a positive thing that you were thinking that it might not be so bad to be childless for a little longer - it takes the pressure off, and it is GREAT to just enjoy what you have right now. It will happen, but in the meantime, the less you stress about it, the better!

PS - I started LoPC today! Once we have both read it, we should compare notes.

Alissa, I know…..and too funny! I am sitting here impatiently waiting for them to open at 10 so I can call and get an appointment. I don’t even know if she is available today...

Oooh, I bet the book is good. I haven’t had a chance to read any more of the Clan of the Cave Bear. It is going to take forever for me to re-read all five books!

Recipe 1 of 2 Green Chili-Chicken Casserole

This recipe was by far my hubby's favorite. He really, really like it. I thought is was pretty decent too. I think next time I'll add some fresh serranos.

I was feeling a bit put out yesterday so I picked up a cheery new lipstick! The color makes me want to run barefoot through a field of flowers wearing a long floral maxi dress and a straw hat (which is sooo not me)! lol

I used regular elbow noodles instead of whole wheat macaroni....

It was very good. Hubby really loved it...he went back for seconds!

Anyway, I was thinking that maybe it's time to tackle some of the "harder" items on my "bucket list". Hubby really wants to go to the beach but he only has a few days to spare this spring so leaving the country is out of the question. We could go to South Padre Island...I dunno....whatever we decide it HAS to be dog friendly!

I still can't decide what color to paint the guest bath...I want something bright and cheery but not too bright....

You have got the weirdest TTC chart... how on earth are you getting so many + OPKs? Rooting for you!

Rachael, my body is just being wacky! lol. My cycles are getting longer and I don't think I'm O'ing but hopefully my body will get back to normal soon. Thanks for rooting for me!

I love salads. If I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life it would be a salad.

This has to be one of my favorite salads ever! It was such a yummy and interesting flavor combination. I'll be making this again tonight...lol.

Summer Salmon Salad
(serves 2)

8 oz fresh salmon (salt, pepper and olive oil spray)



Sliced button mushrooms (2 cups) sautéed with salt and pepper and olive oil spray.



4 HUGE strawberries! (sliced)



Avocado, blue cheese crumbles, red onion, sautéed mushrooms, edamame and baby spinach.



Strawberry vinaigrette
