    Default Peaches

    Thanks Alissa!

    ************************************************** ******************

I had a crazy craving for big fat giant peaches. We went to 6 different stores searching for these darn elusive peaches. I guess it’s not peach season yet because the only peaches I could find were tiny! Ugh!

I finally settled and bought some small regular peaches, white peaches and nectarines.

    On the menu so far:

Yesterday - Grilled Peaches with honey yogurt//Tonight – Grilled pork and peaches (post coming soon)

    Grilled peaches w/ honey yogurt

    Small peaches….

Melted butter with lemon zest and sugar

Grilling peaches with butter/lemon/sugar mixture. Yum!

Grilled peach halves looking kinda nekkid.

My favorite honey yogurt, honey and toasted almond slices.

    All done!

1.Try two new recipes a week – Bacon, Arugula and Shrimp Salad!

One of my favorite salads. Very meaty and satisfying. Need I say more?!

(Sorry about the spotty pics, I didn’t take as many pics as usual)

    Cleaned large shrimp!

Cooking the bacon….I actually cooked 2 more strips…so 4 total! I haven’t had regular bacon in over a year I think….maybe even longer.

Cooking shrimp in the bacon dripping with minced garlic and lemon juice.

I obviously didn’t use arugula….this is my favorite salad mix so I used it instead.

Tomatoes, red onion, avocado (not pictured), and shredded parmesan cheese ( also not pictured).

Dressing – plain low fat yogurt, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and black pepper

    All together!

Oh yeah, I think I’ll do two more of these food posts and call it done. I mean, this is meant to be a journal….not a food blog! Lol

Default Random TTC thought of the day.

I took a FRER this morning (11 dpo) and it was a BFN which I was expecting. Of course I am a little sad BUT I’m also kind of happy. I know….happy?! Crazy talk, right?! Just hear me out, please.

The last two times I got pregnant it was really fast and really easy. I’m a firm believer of working hard for the things you really want. I feel like I need to “work” for it. I also want my eggs to be a little more discriminating. I don’t want them to be all like “yoo hoo, hey there, you little spermie with the jacked up chromosomes, come fertilize me since you reached me first. Who cares about the other swimmers that are healthier than you”? I want my eggies to pick the best of the best ya know?

I honestly feel like if I had to work a little harder at getting pregnant then maybe, just maybe I won’t miscarry again. Again, I know I sound crazy…..but there you have it!

Plus, I won some CBE Digital OPKs and I have some Maca, Vitex and Royal Jelly that I’m excited to try.

Oh and I get to buy another pressie! Haha!

I'm still holding out hope, though, until I see some temp drops.

    Jina,
I want to come eat one of your salads. They look truly amazing. I am drooling a little right now.

Haha, I like your choosy eggies. Nothing but the best for your girls, from now on!!!

    Default Peaches part II

Alissa, Thanks! I would invite you over for dinner if you lived closer!

Rachael, Haha....I know you said you were done having babies but are you preventing or not preventing?

    Moving to the country
Going to eat a lot of peaches
    Moving to the country
Going to eat me a lot of peaches
    Moving to the country
Going to eat a lot of peaches
    Moving to the country
Going to eat a lot of peaches

    Peaches come from a can
They were put there by a man
    In a factory downtown
If I had my little way
    I'd eat peaches every day
    Sun-soaking bulges in the shade

Taking little naps where the roots all twist
Squished a rotten peach in my fist
    And dreamed about you, woman
I poked my finger down inside
Make a little room for it to hide
Nature's candy in my hand or can or a pie

Millions of peaches, peaches for me
Millions of peaches, peaches for free

    Look out!

    Grilled Pork and Peaches

This was truly divine! My hubby and I devoured the meal! I’ll have to make this again very soon….very fruity and summery meal!

I did take pics of the cooking process bit I just don't feel like cropping and uploading all of them so only 2 pics today.

Grilled bone-in pork chops with grilled white peach and nectarine tossed with red onion, blue cheese, pine nuts and balsamic vinegar.

Spring mix tossed with strawberry vinaigrette, strawberries, shredded parmesan, onion and pine nuts.
