What a great Christmas, it really couldn’t have been better. DH was stuck at the store longer than planned on Tuesday so by the time he got to the house I had everything ready to go and he passed on shoveling before we left. We picked the kids up from day care and then hit the road. B was a pill and cried a lot during the drive. I forgot to keep the DVD player up front with me so he was not happy, this kept us from stopping at the cabin to get L’s stocking. B did calm down after ½ hour and then we stopped at McD’s for dinner in Columbus. I know it shouldn’t take 1 hour for us to eat at McD’s but it just does with 2 little kids. B played while DH ordered and once he was done eating L was ready for a bottle. Of course we then need to do diaper changes and it just takes forever. Checking into the hotel went fast and once the room was set up and B was use to the surroundings and knew where everyone was sleeping we went to bed. I found it works much better with him to do the bed time routine and then leave him on his bed while I go to my bed, he still talked and moved around but he pretty much stayed on the bed and eventually fell asleep. The wonderful part was that the kids didn’t wake up until 7:30, woot for sleep!

Once we were up for the day we headed to C & W’s for breakfast and then went to the Reef water park for some swimming. It was a lot of fun and B had a great time sliding and swimming. L hung out with Mimi the whole time and I bounced around from kid to kid. DH had fun on the slides and convinced Logan to go down with him, he really appreciated Dave doing that and thanked him several times. DH put it as, “If Clint isn’t going to step up and have fun with his kids then I will.” We were there for about 2 hours and then we met Maren at City Brew for some snacks and drinks and then went to the hotel for a quick and short nap. B was beyond ready and he slept hard, it was a struggle to get him to wake up. We had roast for dinner and then I cleaned up the kitchen (there were a few things I cleaned that I think had been there for at least a few days) while W got ready for church. I was a bit disappointed in the church service, it just seemed lacking I guess. The pastor read the Christmas story then we had one song and then sat there as families were supposed to go up together for communion. We ended up leaving early and B showed everyone how he does not have the ability to be quiet. He was pointing at the decorations loudly exclaiming “Wow!” and told everyone fire’s hot and there’s a cross, etc. Once we were at the house we opened presents and B was done once he opened his train set, he was a happy boy. After the presents and clean up we left, L had a runny nose all day but she was feeling really warm and sounded very congested (like in the lungs). DH wanted to get some Vick’s vapor disks so we were trying to find someplace that would still be open, Target was our goal but Big K was open so we went there. I was amazed at how busy they were at 8:30 on Christmas Eve and even more surprised by how much stuff people were buying. Once we got back to the hotel we all got ready for bed and I was thankful we brought the Boppy to prop L on it. She had a 101.7 fever and just sounded miserable, DH said he was really concerned about her but do you think he woke at all in the middle of the night to check on her? Of course not, mommy took care of all of that. I kept her pretty well dosed on Tylenol and she slept well. I don’t even know how many times I checked on her but I did get some sleep at least. By morning her fever was much lower at 99.9 and she was in a good mood. She did wake at 4:40 but fell back to sleep and when I heard her at 5:30 I fed her hoping B could get some more sleep. DH showered and I started packing things up while B was still sleeping. He got up around 6:30 and the two of them played with their Santa presents. Both of them sat on the bed checking out their new things and then B would have them swap presents, it was just precious. We were out of the hotel at 7:30, pretty good time I thought. Everyone enjoyed their stocking presents and breakfast was nice. My mom took the kids outside to play in the snow and I played with L & B. B is doing really well with her speech and she is interacting a lot more. Lots of hugs too so no complaints from me. We had turkey for dinner and it was really good, I was not happy with the eggs I used for the devilled eggs. They all had some bloody parts (not a lot but it was there) in them and it just grossed me out, I will never buy that brand again. After dinner we fed L then started getting everything together, W seemed ready to have her house back and we all needed some quiet time. B was out cold before we even left their neighborhood and he slept the whole way. My parents were right behind us and we all got to town just as it started snowing, we got about 6 inches so I’m glad we went home when we did. L was still sick but seemed to be over the fever so we didn’t bother going to Urgent Care, I don’t even know if it was open so things at least worked out. We had B’s drum set sitting by the tree when we got home and he walked up to it saying “wow” and then he turned around and said “Daddy’s drums”. I told him no those are your drums and he ran to me to give me a big hug and said “I love you mommy”. He enjoyed them and he actually doesn’t sound too bad. He opened the rest of his presents and was busy playing the rest of the evening. I did part of the unpacking before the kids went to bed but most of it waited, we at least didn’t have quite as much stuff as I expected. I can’t remember for the life of me what I made for dinner, hmm. Anyways, after the kids were sleeping DH and I opened our presents and I got a ton of stuff, I think DH felt skimped but I know his stuff cost a lot more than mine did. C & B gave me some gloves for weeding, we’re all hoping they will work around my prickly pear and we’ll find out this spring. Even if they don’t they are great gloves. Sue made the kids really nice plates with their names on them (Lily is spelled with 2 L’s, oh well it will go great with B’s Bordie on the Griz football, we like to make spelling the kids’ names hard I guess) and she gave us a gorgeous serving bowl. The IL’s gave me 4 of the Harry Potter books so that’s something to look forward to, I was very blessed this year. DH did get me the jewelry armoire I wanted, yeah for organized jewelry, and I got a digital key chain from B and a nice candle from L.

Friday DH had to go to the store for awhile and my dad worked on the snow blower to get it running better then took care of all the snow we had. I made German pancakes for breakfast and hung out with the kids while my parents ran to town to get a few things for the basement. We had a day of just hanging out around the house and once DH was home he and my dad started on the basement. Dinner was steak, seasoned potatoes, and brussel sprouts, mmm. L was in bed before we got around to having her open the rest of her presents (still wasn’t feel 100%) so DH and I just opened the rest of them for her. She got some adorable clothes from everyone.

Saturday the guys worked downstairs all day, I did use the left over steak and potatoes to make breakfast burritos. B and my mom played outside for awhile and I cleaned up around the house and made banana bread and hamburger buns (the banana bread was delicious but the buns were too dense, I’m searching for another recipe now). I had never used frozen bananas before but I will now never go back, they worked great. We had hamburgers for dinner since we had to try out the buns. I was able to get a grocery trip in (I found root beer that is GF and has no MSG or HFCS and also vanilla ice cream that was HFCS free, that took some time) and got lots of laundry done so it was a good day.

Sunday was more work for the guys, they were able to end the day with all of the outer walls framed and insulated, it’s looking really good down there. I tried a new recipe for waffles, they were pretty good, and for dinner we had homemade pizza. The crust (gluten free mama) turned out really well, so well that it was all eaten and everyone enjoyed it. I could have gone for another slice but I would rather my guests get all they want. DH and I did a run to the hardware store to look at doors and then my mom and I took the kids to Rosauer’s so she could get a few WF/GF things. B was a great boy for us and he got a sucker too. We had a rough day on Saturday, he wouldn’t listen to a thing I said and that resulted in me yelling a lot. I hate that and had to work on keeping myself calm and quiet while getting his attention. It helped and we had a wonderful Sunday I’m sure because of it. We had a normal night with bed time and then my mom and I chatted until it was bed time. I was able to get all but 1 round completed on L’s flower hat and I hope to finish it tonight.

It was hard coming into work today, DH stayed home to help with framing the wall for the storage room and closet, moving the other storage room’s door, and framing around the duct work on the ceiling. I think he’s going to call electrician’s and Bresnan to get some drops installed. I think he’s hoping they can do it right away so they can maybe move onto drywall. That would be great. We looked at dishwashers and refrigerators again on Saturday, hoping we could maybe get a good deal on buying two. The manufacturer would only give us $100 off a $3500 purchase and the store only does another $100, pretty sad. Also the appliances have gone up because of the economy, a bit backwards I think. At this point I want to wait, hopefully the price will drop down again and I’d rather use the money on the basement and a vehicle. DH cut the last dividend for the year so I need to pay the estimated taxes to see how much we have for a vehicle. I think with this dividend we’ll be able to pad the savings a bit more so we have enough to get a van and have some fall back money in the savings.

The IL’s are stopping by on their way back today. MIL called and asked if we were going to be working, I told her DH would be home working on the basement but that I would be at work. I am working through lunch all this week so I can get home an hour earlier and spend more time with the family. After work I’m going to stop by Rosauer’s to buy more pizza crust, my mom wants 4 packets and I want to pick up a couple for myself. I’ve been avoiding the bad foods for 4 days now and I must say that I’m less gassy, always a good thing.
B has been doing some really cute things I want to remember, instead of tickle he says kittle, so he’ll walk around wiggling his fingers saying “kittle, kittle”. A new saying of his is "I'll carry you" meaning he wants me to carry him, he's just the sweetest kid.

The IL’s didn’t make it to the house until 2, apparently DH was expecting them by 1 so he was a little put off since B was extremely tired. They left around 3 and then it was nap time, poor kid didn’t get enough sleep though. I stopped at the store to pick up some WF/GF mixes then headed home. That’s when I saw I picked up the wrong mix so I had chocolate chip cookie mix instead of bread mix, bah! I figured what the heck I may as well make them and the dough was so dry it was like powder. The mix said that the dough would be dry but this wouldn’t even form into round cookies. So I just packed it all into a square baker and made bars, they were decent but I know I can do better. B wanted lots of cuddles when he woke up so I had the pleasure of cuddling with him, he was so snuggly and sweet. I then made dinner and we all ate well, no left overs at our house. B even chowed the casserole. We were talking about the Earth’s Balance butter I had and DH said, “It has a nice buttery taste” and B repeated him with “has a nice butt taste”. We all had big grins from that but kept our laughter for a bit later. L acted like we were starving her (surprise, surprise) and she chowed a lot, fine with me as long as she sleeps. A storm moved in and we got about 2 inches of snow but since it’s been warm again (40’s bleh!) there was a nice sheet of ice first, yeah for driving. It was really windy and B had a hard time sleeping from that along with a cough he has developed, DH stayed up late because of it and I’m sure he’ll be exhausted today.

I was able to finish L’s hat and I can’t wait to put it on her and get pictures, she’ll be so precious. I also paid bills and the estimated tax so I have a decent amount left to put in savings. This will give us enough padding to allow us to purchase a vehicle for $15K without having to get a loan. I guess we need to do some car shopping. The storage room door is now moved and the wall separating DH’s office and the other storage room is up. My dad came up with a great idea to do a small walk in closet for that room but we haven’t put it in yet. The plan today is to frame around the duct work and then I think they’ll be pretty much done for now. They’re sticking around through Thursday so I think DH and I are going to try to go to a movie on Wednesday night. I’ll want an early one so we can get home before the drunks are out in full force, I hate leaving the house on New Year’s Eve. It’s been really nice having my parents around and I’m so blessed with how good they are to us, it’s just fun to be with them and even though it’s been almost a week it doesn’t feel like it.

The roads were pretty clear (well on the interstate) when I left work and I had to stop by the grocery store before heading home. L&D’s is definitely cheaper than Rosauer’s so I’ll be sure to get things there that I can and reserve my Rosauer’s shopping for items I can’t get anywhere else. I need to check out a few other health stores in town that carry some of the WF/GF items I’ll be buying, it’s worth a shot if they are any cheaper. We took my parents out for dinner at the Mint and we were the only people there for most of the evening. The food was good though something in the sauce on the salmon gave me heart burn. It was pretty hard not eating the bread but I was good. I even avoided the flavored lemonade assuming there would be HFCS in it. After coming home we did baths and an early bed since B coughed a lot during his nap and only got in an hour of sleep. Both he and L went out fast. I did put my pregnancy pillow on B’s bed so he could be inclined while sleeping and since he didn’t cough last night I think it helped. The framing around the duct work looks like it was a PITA and I know it took quite awhile, but it’s done. They also put 2x4’s along the stairwell and I think they’re done with the basement until cable and electrical can be put in, which is scheduled for next week. I don’t think the drywall will happen until toward the end of the summer and then I can start thinking about paint and carpet, yeah! I would love for the basement to be finished in time for us to enjoy sitting around the fire place next I think the guys are going to finish insulating the garage today and then will look at the vent to the bathroom. We are going to look at vans this afternoon so I’m leaving 30 min earlier than initially planned, I hope we can find something we like for a decent price. DH and I are also planning to go out to eat tonight and to a movie, it should be a fun evening.

I wanted to put a couple things down that I don't want to forget, and since I seem to forget everything this is a necessity. When B is tired or getting ready to fall asleep he likes to rub bears arm on his cheek and when he's in a comforting mood he will rub bear on the tummy like DH does with him, it's so precious.

DH also has the magic touch with L. She will be fussy and cranky with everyone no matter what we do and the minute she's in daddy's arms she's happy. It's like a flip of a switch. What would I do without my magic man? He's such a good daddy, I truly enjoy watching him with the kids and seeing their joy. Plus daddy is the only one that will toss B "up in the sky". It's a good thing we have vaulted ceilings.

This is a rarity for me but the past 4 days have felt like 2 weeks, probably because with Christmas and my parents up things have been so “off” for us. DH, my dad, and I met at one dealership to look at a 06 Odyssey, well we stood out there looking at the vehicle for awhile and no one came out to check on us, fine. Since I had found an Odyssey and a Sienna in Livingston we decided to just drive there and check them out then look at the vehicles in town later on. So the three of us got in the car (me squeezed nicely between the car seats in the back and I successfully overcame my claustrophobia) and headed to the dealership. We first drove the 04 Odyssey, it had a lot of nice features but smelled odd and was a bit loud and rough on the drive. DH and my dad gave me crap for punching it once we got on the interstate, I explained you have to floor it to properly know how the car will handle and I really only got up to 80. We then tried out the 06 Sienna and not only did it smell better but it was a much smoother drive, DH really liked it and we decided to get it (wow that was fast!). We talked with the owner and got the price dropped a little bit more and gave him a check to hold it until we could come back (plan was for Friday) with the money. We then headed home to relieve my mom a bit (not that she really wanted it, she was so happy to have the time to play with B and get to know L, this was the first visit L really was in a good mood and interactive with her). DH and I left at 7 to eat at the Bay and luckily we got a table right away. I had a hard time finding something I could eat and then the waitress gave me my familiar response of “I’ll have to check and see if we still have that”. What is it with the food I order running out all the darned time? DH had 2 beers and I had 2 glasses of wine and we not only had a great meal but got to chat and have some quality time. We of course talked about the van and DH mentioned that if we have another LO it will be nice. I then asked him how he felt about a third and he said he wouldn’t mind another one and I told him I felt the same way. Now the question will be how far apart do we want a third one from L. After dinner we went to Yes Man and it was really funny, and it didn’t fail that some people brought their baby to the show, this is the 4th show in a row (and we don’t go to the movies a lot) that someone has brought a baby. We got home around 11:45 and chatted with my dad a bit then I headed to bed. My mom woke me at 2 am with L wide awake happy as a clam. My mom didn’t know what to do with her so I took her trying to figure out what the heck was going on. It turned out she started making these high pitched breathing noises that sound like something’s wrong (she’s just testing out her vocal cords) and then she was silent. My mom thought she had died and ran up to check on her and since someone came in L woke up more rather than falling back to sleep on her own. DH was still up so he took L and put her back in the crib where she eventually went back to sleep. DH also gave me a marathon of lovin’, he’s just been knocking me out of the water lately and I’m not complaining.

Thursday morning I slept in a little bit since my mom was up with the kids and then we went out for breakfast. We had to go to a different restaurant since our normal was closed and we were pleasantly surprised to see they carry msg and gluten free sausages, this may be our new normal. My parents then headed home and we went home and had a pretty laid back day. I did some laundry and cleaned things up. I did try a basic white bread recipe from the 1,000 GF recipe book, I did it in the bread machine because my goal is to find a great bread that I can make in there, I just don’t have time to do it by hand regularly. It tasted great fresh but got really dried and bleh the next day. It’s OK toasted but not my favorite by any means. I think the next bread I’m going to try is a beer bread, hopefully it will be good. B was a pretty good kid but there were a lot of NO’s shouted at me, I get frustrated too fast when he doesn’t listen to me and I really need to work on that. I did get him on camera having a NO fest and the little terd was sitting across from the oven so he started watching himself throw his fit. He then shoed me his funny diaper trick of smacking the overly soaked diaper with his fist and watching it wag back and forth.

Friday DH was back at work and I spent the morning doing errands. First I got the car insurance lined up for the van and then I called the dealership to let them know we wouldn’t pick the van up until Saturday and I double checked on the time they opened (this will obviously be an issue since I brought it up J ). The kids and I then went to the bank to get a cashier’s check, stopped by the grocery store for a few necessities and to mail my Secrets of the Baby Whisperer book to B & A, and then we stopped to get the oil changed in the car. It was extremely windy out and B commented “Oh no, Lily blow away”. Luckily she didn’t! Once we were home B went down for his nap and L went to sleep right before the rain/snow/sleet hit. I think I had a whopping 5 min before B was up again so all of the things I needed to get done did not happen. Saturday I had myself and the kids ready so we could leave the house by 8:30, DH didn’t wake up until 7:45 when I went in the room and he woke up in a foul mood. It mostly stemmed from him having a problem with one of the laptops he worked on the night before and he was dreading talking with the customer. We arrived at the dealership at 9:10 and no one was there, just what we need for our already cheery day. DH called the guys cell phone and he was just taking the exit. Of course the van wasn’t ready for us because it was assumed we would be in late, that’s why I asked what time they opened. At 10:15 DH asked if it would be wrapped up by 10:30 since he needed to be at work at 11, this had the guy running around even more. As we were wrapping things up and he needed copies of our driver’s licenses DH stated he left his at home, perfect! Luckily he was able to give us a dealer plate and then the place in Blgrd was going to get DH’s license copied and then give us the 40 day tag. We hit the road and the kids and I did our shopping at Target and at Costco then headed home. B gave me another 1.5 hour nap so I again had no time to get more than the house dusted, frustrating. Once the kids were in bed for the night I did get the kitchen and bathroom cleaned plus a little bit more laundry, baby steps I guess. Somehow I also managed to get move of the Christmas lights off the house and I went through the girl clothes give to us so I have a pile to donate. We have a lot of things that need to be donated so DH and I need to go through the storage room.

Sunday we were up by 7:30 and I got some snuggle time in before getting the kids ready for the day. Once we were all ready to roll DH discovered the battery on the van was dead, it didn’t give him problems the day before so I think it was mostly cold induced. DH jumps the van and gets the car seats moved over then we head to Costco for a new battery. We shouldn’t have turned the van off because the battery wouldn’t start again. Now we have to buy tools and change the battery in the parking lot, wee! It’s not a bad thing to have but it’s frustrating to have something new and then deal with this. I think it was making both DH and I question whether this was as good of a purchase as we thought it would be. Once we were on our way back home I started looking in the manual to see what certain buttons meant since I didn’t know and we discovered that DH can plug his MP3 in, boy did that bring on some happiness. We can also program some buttons to open the garage door and now I’m wondering if the Maxx has some buttons for that also. I think it will really be nice a vehicle, now I just need to clean it a bit better and we’ll be set, I’m waiting on warm weather for that. DH dropped us off at the house since he had more errands to run around town and I hit my breaking point while he was gone. First B wouldn’t eat for me and I’m embarrassed to say it brought me to yelling at him, my poor kid. I just lost it. After I yelled he said “I love you mommy” and then I started crying (feeling like the horrible mother I was) which brought from B “mommy’s sad”. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it, my kids deserve a much better mommy than me. I got him down for a nap and then L was a fuss bucket, nothing I did made her happy and I was feeling completely worthless so I just put her down and had a good scream/cry. Poor DH also got a text stating I needed some frickin help around the house. I just felt like he really wasn’t around to help me or give me a break the past 3 days and I obviously needed one. Once I calmed down I got L calm and fed her before putting her down for a nap. I then scurried around the house trying to get the floors clean, package and freeze the hamburger, cut and clean fruit, and do more laundry. B of course chose this day so nap for a long time since we were supposed to go sledding with K & D. We showed up late and then B was very clingy and didn’t want to be put down. I did get him to go down the hill twice with me but he freaked out when I’d get off the sled to pull us back up. DH went down with L and I got a cute picture of them at least. B then played at the playground with D and then we headed to our house because everyone was cold. We had a nice dinner and hung out while the boys played. B had a rough time at first sharing but he eventually got over it and they had a nice time. At one point they were both laying in his bed with his blanket up over them shining flashlights, B informed me they were sleeping. DH and I tried the GF beer Toleration and it was really good, had a sweet fruity taste to it but plenty of beer flavor. Once the kids were in bed I prepped for today and DH put up some paperless drywall since the fireplace was heating up the studs and insulation a bit too much. Then DH started a fire and he had the same problem with the smoke not taking up the chimney so the house was filled with smoke. I hate seeing him so stressed and mad about it and luckily he’s meeting with one of the fireplace guys to try to figure this out. When blowing a propane fired flame up the chimney to heat it isn’t working we know something is wrong. So with it being -2 we had the windows cracked and fans going trying to air the place out. I went to bed with long johns under my pajamas, had to since the bedroom window was cracked also. What we have just isn’t working when it’s really cold outside and that isn’t acceptable.

I woke up with a major headache and it’s still with me, I hope it goes away soon. DH thinks it’s from the smoke. I need to use up some dry GF bread so I think we’ll have French toast tonight, don’t want to waste anything.

I am freaking out right now, I can’t find the check I wrote for day care and I’m worried I lost is somewhere. Bah! DH is going to look at home on the counter when he is out running errands, I hope it’s there if not we’ll have to get it cancelled and there goes a hefty fee for that. I feel like an idiot.

Anyways, DH was home early meeting with the fireplace guy, they have a few things they are going to try to hopefully fix our smoke out issues. I hope they work. He also picked the kids up from DC so I got home a little before them and started some kitchen cleanup. DH didn’t have lunch so I made our French toast (using the very dry WF bread I had in the fridge) early and it turned out pretty darned good. Then B was off to take a bath and I fed L her solids. Speaking of this I was frustrated that L was acting like her cereal was formula and expected it to just roll down her throat, it was like she wouldn’t swallow and then she’d smile and out came the food. I decided on Saturday to try some flavor with her to see if this would get her to realized it’s not just formula. So I put some rice cereal in sweet potatoes and she not only loved it (after her initial what the heck look) but she ate the whole jar. She still likes to stick her tongue out now and then like she’ll just lick the spoon but she’s getting better. After B’s bath he then played with L while she was still in the high chair and then it was play time for the two of us. We did a lot of chasing and roaring and tickling. I helped him burn that extra energy and gave him the attention he’s so desperately needed from me these past few days. I feel like a little bit of a better mama. Oh, he right away wanted to watch Lazy Town when he got home so I put in Swiped Sweets. This had him asking me for frosting which made DH ask me if we could still have the frosted brownies I make. I told him of course, I just need to find a WF brownie recipe. So once dinner was done I threw together some brownie batter and frosted it, giving both my guys just what they wanted. B was able to enjoy a spoonful of frosting while still in the bath, spoiled rotten.

The kids went down very easily and then I got in a Cathe workout, wow was I tired and could tell my lazy bum hadn’t done anything for too long. It’s good to get back to my norm and I hope that I’ll start losing soon. I then headed to bed and got a pretty good night’s sleep. B didn’t wake at all (second night in a row so hopefully we can get back to normal). We had a nice morning and some good cuddles before I had to leave. Now if I could have avoided the moronic high school girl that got out of her mom’s SUV (which was stopped to my left at the red light, she was in the left turn lane and I was in the straight lane) and walked right in front of my car as I was starting to accelerate because the light turned green my morning would have been perfect. People are idiots.

I’m finding some great recipes online but it may be a bit difficult to make some of them since GF doesn’t mean MSG of HFCS free. Since it’s all a learning curve for me I’m expecting this and I will figure it out. I still need to get rid of a few things in my fridge because they contain HFCS, I hate throwing out stuff that’s still “good” but it’s out of my diet and I won’t be eating it so I may as well get over my issues and dump it. My health is more important than the few dollars that are going down the drain. I need to make a loaf of bread tonight, if I don’t have time to try the beer bread we’ll give Tom’s Red Mill mix a try.

Here's some happy news. The Nova Cafe in town has some GF options, not sure what but at some point DH and I will have to check them out. I also e-mailed Sola Cafe and all of their sandwiches and panini's can be served on GF bread plus they make a GF treat daily that is on a first come first served basis. So DH and I will have to do a lunch date to check Sola out.

We never found that darned check but DH did go to the bank to have it cancelled, $29 dollars later and I’m glad I did it but annoyed with how much it costs to do these simple things. It’s just like the $5 charge for a cashier’s check when it should be free if you bank there, come on! Or let’s see the $25 charge for the owner’s manual copy for the Malibu (stated it may just come in loose leaf paper form) plus an almost $9 shipping charge PLUS an almost $7 handling fee. Come on! How about this lovely peach, $11 for the front license plate bracket for the van (because apparently even though it’s legally required in MT the a-hole at the dealership doesn’t feel the need to supply this for us) along with who knows how much to have it installed. Then we have the fun of paying for a second key for the van, again this should be STANDARD to get 2 frickin’ keys when you buy a vehicle. This will run us at least $75, if it works at the hardware store. If not we then have to go to the Toyota dealership in town and we’re looking at over $250! I’m waiting to see if the hardware store copy works for DH before I call the guy we got the van from, I think he needs to know about all of these expenses (including the battery) and that he needs to cover the charge for the key and the battery, those are just basics that should have been taken care of in the first place. Plus I need to find out when the last time the van had an oil change, so far Headwaters is not on my happy list. I just feel like I’m getting pennied and dimed here and I don’t like it.

DH has the day off so he’s running errands. He’s going to take a bunch of clothes and just stuff we need to donate to a thrift store, it will be good to be rid of those boxes. He did ask me if I’d like to do lunch today so I think we’ll have to try the Sola Café, we can at least know we’ll be able to get something to eat there and I would love a Panini, that is if I can find a MSG free option.

Last night went super fast for me, I got home with the kids and did a little cuddle then my mom called. While talking to her (DH was playing with B and keeping him very occupied) I emptied the dishwasher then completely filled it with the dishes in the sink and then I realized it was 6 and I needed to get dinner going. So I threw together a half remembered polenta recipe and it worked. B ate all of his fruit and veggies then wanted juice, we told him if he took a bite of dinner he could have a drink and that didn’t really motivate him so I then got out the brownies and told him he could have a brownie if he took a bite of dinner. That had him immediately grab his fork and put the food in his mouth, resulting in several gags like it was terrible. DH and I both had to hide our smiles. He got the bite down and then got his brownie. After the kids were in bed I exercised and then went to bed myself, later than I should have too.

L had her first bite of peas last night and she ate them all. After the peas we’ll try carrots and then I need to do some more baby food shopping. I can’t believe I’m already at this point with her. She has been struggling with getting in long enough naps since going back to DC, hopefully she’ll be back to normal by tomorrow.

Lunch with DH was really nice. The GF bread was really good (had to pay an extra dollar for it) and I enjoyed the sandwich. It’s a bit on the pricier side with organic and local ingredients but that’s OK. They had GF macaroons that we passed on, I’m sure they were good but I just wasn’t in the mood. DH picked the kids up so I went straight home after work putting off my grocery trip so we could stop at the salvage lot and see what they’d give for ht Pontiac. First he offered $150 and I told DH no less than $200, they offered $175 and we left. The silly thing is they were all excited about the super charger, then pay us $200 for it! So we’re going to put it in the paper, asking $500 OBO. We’ll see how it goes. On the way home I had to get gas and then we stopped at the grocery store. B walked around with one of the little kid shopping carts and DH followed to help him get things on our list. He was so cute bopping around the aisles. Once we got home I started dinner and I really need to see if there’s a secret to boiling GF noodles. They get this weird thickness to the water and it drives me nuts. B gagged his dinner down again. He acts like the food is terrible but he likes hamburger and he likes noodles so what’s the problem? We played after dinner then had an uneventful night of going to bed. I did finish my throwing out in the fridge, there were a few stragglers with HFCS in there like my wasabi sauce. I was surprised but really I shouldn’t be. I then exercised and went to bed. B was quiet all night, I did hear a little peep around 5 but that was it.

The Bob’s RM bread I made was icky. The texture was fine and it was moist but the flavor was just off. Oh well, the search continues. I keep thinking one of these days I’ll have time to make the beer bread, one of these days. I have so many bread recipes to try I just need to do it. I’m craving pizza big time so I need to pick up my pizza crust, maybe on the way home tonight I’ll be able to squeeze it in. Ooh, I just saw that my order for the Bread’s by Anna is going to arrive today so that’s what I’ll make tonight. Hopefully this weekend I can at least get the refrigerator bread dough made and some breadsticks.

A’s mom e-mailed me yesterday to talk about DC and her concerns with A and Melissa’s inconsistency. I figured A would be affected like B, those two are so similar. I told her what my concerns were and I think it helped her hear that she’s validated. She talked with S and they want to get rid of M but need a replacement first. M is going to be up in the baby room and T will be moved down with the boys. This is too bad for L because T takes care of her BUT it will be better for B and he needs a change. We’re going to get the boys together next weekend so that will be fun.

The hardware store can’t get us a key so we have to go through the dealership. So I need to make a phone call, boo!

I’m in a foul mood, I’m just plain *****y and I know it’s because I have all of these “things” looming over my head and I just want them taken care of. Anxiety is not my friend. I didn’t talk with S last night (that is going to happen tonight) instead I first talked with C and I’m glad I did. She gave me some more insight into the whole DC situation and if things don’t change she said she’ll be leaving. So tonight I am having a straight forward, non-pussy footing around conversation with S, things need to change. I really don’t think this conversation will go bad I just need to do it. I’m going to call the HW guy back, he called me after I had left work. I really hope that conversation goes well too.

My evening was busy and DH was home late (thanks for the call) so things really built up on me. We ended up with a quick dinner (Amy’s frozen GF pizza and it was pretty good for frozen) because I just didn’t have any time. B wanted to help me feed L so she ended up with some spoons thrust down her throat. The final time was it for her and I had to get her out of the high chair to calm her down. I wasn’t as patient as I should have been with B but I tried really hard. As DH and B were finishing up with dinner I gave L a bath then bathed B. He did get a chuckle out of me (after I left the bathroom) when he kept flopping his junk around stating it was his penis. Then he used his elephant pour spout to pour water on it, I had to leave for that part. I had the kids in bed a little earlier than usual and then I exercised. I did have to try the new bread I made before bed and it was really good, better than it looked. I had ordered a bread box with the bread mixes and put my bread in there before bed. It was still really (surprisingly) moist this morning and I’m looking forward to having it with my tomato soup for lunch. This loaf is definitely a winner. B was quiet all night (so good to be back) and I had to wake both kids again this morning. L and I had some cuddle time first then B cuddled with me too. He likes the new “Attack of the Lily” game we play. I say that while moving L in to “get” B, he thinks it’s hilarious and just loves it.

I ate something that made my body unhappy. All I can come up with is the Amy’s chili so I’ll need to look over that label again, I’m assuming MSG right now. I was really gassy last night and the smell started, it’s just unnatural what my body does to the food. As I was sitting on the pot this morning, trying to figure out what I ate, it dawned on me that I’ve considered this whole thing (gas, smell, bowels) normal and it is totally not normal. I’m looking forward to my new normal.

I hope to do a quick clean of the house tonight and I desperately need to do laundry. I have a MK party to go to tomorrow afternoon, right during nap time so this will be a bit rough, and it should be fun. I’ll have to high tail it out of there as soon as it’s over so I can get B down for his nap. Other than that we’re just planning a normal weekend, I hope we can even avoid any shopping other than the grocery store. I’m going to start giving L solids at lunch along with dinner, I may even throw mornings in there since she’s doing so well. This means I need to do a little bit of shopping so DC has the food they need. She’s growing up so fast.
