It is part of a hand out my pedi gave me that has age ranges and types of food to introduce and approx amounts (ranges) and at 8 months it says 1 tbs of butter. I do remember reading while pregnant about babies needing more fat to develop so I guess I wanted to make sure I got that in. Jessica is in the 75th percentile and eats very well - won't waste even one piece of food.
I do cook the baked meat with a little olive oil, but it doesn't come out to the same amount as I don't slather it.
I will see if I can find some whole grain crackers (without milk as an ingredient) and do some spread, then I could do the goat cheese I found at the local grocery store.
Haven't tried hummus, but that would be a good one to introduce. Anybody have a good recipe that would work for baby and grown-ups?
Honestly I wouldnt worry about adding the extra fat into her diet, just feed her whole fat everything not reduced fat. it sounds like she is a good eater and is healthy.
You dont want her to get used to fatty foods and start craving them later in life.
