I just got yogurt, got plain organic so I will add fruits to it, we will start it on Sunday, tomorrow is the last day of plums. I got bluberries too and they arent very sweet, they are a bit sour so I will only mix them with other sweet fruit, I made them in much smaller cubes because dont think Emily would eat 2oz cube of bluberries. I wanted to mix them with yogurt but they arent sweet enough, we will start them after we try yogurt for 3 days. Those things are like ink, my fingers were blue for hours, DH said when I feed them to Emy she will look like a smurf.
A warning with the blueberries make sure you cook the skin well cause it can run right through their system if you don't. Natalie absolutely loves them but my last batch was not cooked enough.
What berries can they eat at 6 - 8 months, kinda sad that I have a freezer of strawberries and nothing to do with them. I might try cooking them with some apples see how that goes.

if you guys have been reading things on the wholesome... whatever website it actually encourages you to use spices (one at a time, like any new food) that way they dont have to eat flavorless or want to use salt or sugar. most other cultures dont feed their babies plain things without spices.
would oatmeal cereal, plus applesauce, in layers.... come out as apple crisp? i think i'm going to try that, applesauce in the bottom, oatmeal with just a little water to make crumbs lil cinnamon just cuz.... viola!
Ellie ALWAYS makes faces at applesauce, but finishes the container, i dont think she's used to the sweetness.
she also dislikes anything cold except toys. like teething toys.
Really not sure how to cook blueberries proper, Natalie digested most of it properly so I wasn't worried. Just her poop had bits of blueberry skin in it and it was a hassle to clean her bum and diapers, oatmeal does the same thing if not ground enough.
We tried chicken (boiled in a tiny bit of water) mixed with rice cereal today she was a bit unsure of the texture but liked the taste. Didn't seem to have any bad side effects. I taste everything she eats it was alright but a bit bland.

We started yogurt yesterday, I was supposed to wait till Sunday as we are still doing the plums but she got hungry between her 2 bottles so I think she was ready for a 3rd meal of solids. I tasted the yogurt first, wanted to add some applesauce but the plain yobaby tasted very creamy and not sour at all, she loved it and I mean loved more than baked peaches, I ate about 1 oz she ate about 3oz and was fussing when she saw me eat it she wanted it all. I was scared to give her so much the first time but she was loving it. She was fine after, no tumy ache or anything, guess I dont have to mix fruit in to it.
The blueberries that I made the skin is pretty much chopped into a liquid, I put them into the food processor and I didnt see any bits just a smooth puree. Her butt will be all blue once it comes out of her, my fingers were all blue for a while. We will start them on Monday with some applesauce.
i have a bunch of frozen blueberries, and i want to make some into food, but i got a jar of applesauce and blueberries to make sure its worth cooking it before i got hog-wild with them.
DH is a dunce. just had to get that out. she only got one meal of food yesterday because he just didnt feel like feeding her anything, not what i left out, nothing in the cupboard if he wanted to choose himself instead. and he left her with a friend for an hour because he could not wait until i got home. and that was after 3 hrs since her last nursing and he should have anticipated that she'd be hungry and given her a damn bottle! i swear i'm going to beat him.
