Next year's school books came today. I am excited to dive in and start getting ready for next year.
I'm always fond of children's books and could spend time every day researching things for particular children...whether grandchildren or school kids in Haiti.
Have a blast looking over your new materials!
That is the best!
Still muddling through getting everything ready for the year.
Our curriculum should arrive in a few weeks. We just finished the orientation process last week for Connections Academy. I'm excited to see what they are sending us.
The big box came two days ago! It was way sooner than I expected, so I had no place to unload it to. I got "the learning shelf" cleared off so I can unpack it, and now I'm scared to open it. It's so silly. I just want to do it when I can bask in the excitement and complete the task of checking for all the contents and putting it away properly. I want to accomplish this without distractions, so it gets done right and lately, baby girl has been trying to skip her morning nap, so she's cranky and clingy most of the day.
Perhaps I'll call my sister over for help. She just dropped her DD off with her MIL for a week and a half. This is the first long time away from her. but not sure her helping me with my kids will make it easier or harder (reminding her or her daughter).
There's always tomorrow when DH is home to help.
I hope you get a chance to work on it soon.
Yeah, it didn't work out the way I wanted. DH planned a lake outing for Saturday and Sunday was recoup day. So on Monday I took up an "I CAN" attitude and just did it. It took me 3 hours cause I had to take parenting breaks to keep the older two from killing each other and the baby from eating the dog food and ... but it's done. His "school shelf" looks nice... and I'm proud of myself.
Good for you! We had planned to start school Monday, but decided to go camping Sunday night to Monday morning instead. It will be an end of the summer Horah. We are starting Tuesday instead.
Nell, glad it looks good
Aug is still summer in this area, so although we kept going it is wierd to hear of you starting back, Bonita.
DH's works in a different State than we live. His State goes by minutes instead of days. So they go an extra hour or so every day but less days. It works out to 160 days. In the State we live in you have to go 180 days no matter how long you go each day. So if I want to have all the same breaks he does and finish at the same time he does, then I need to start 20 days before he does.
