New Year!

I know there are other homeschoolers out there. Are you all ready for the new school year? When are you all starting? We are starting 2 weeks from Monday. Do you have all of your curriculum and lesson planning ready?

We are starting September 2. Still waiting on the last two of the curriculum books to be delivered, should be before Friday. Last year though he accomplished a lot, we argued WAY more than was needed, so we are going to try out something new for us and do a loose workbox system, and see if that helps at all. Got most of the first week of lessons planned out, I want to wait to see how that works out before I start doing a month at a time, as we are ramping up the work load for first/second (last year we did mixed kindergarten/first) I want to make sure I am not over doing it with what I have planned.

We are a full 3 weeks into the year. Everything is going well so far.

First day went great! I had been getting more and more anxious as it drew closer and I really had nothing to worry over. Even with DH getting home from work early, we were able to stay on track and get school done before lunch. Last year was a hassle as we did school in the living room, so when DH got home and started on his computer or doing whatever, DS would get totally thrown off and we wouldn't get much more accomplished. SOOOOO glad to have a dedicated room this year.

Lurking here...
How's it going these days?
My grandchildren are pretty young. They are delaying schooling for them a bit, but keeping the kids active, outdoors and interested in things!
