what's up?

So where are you all in your homeshool plans? Planing for next year, or still finishing up this year?

We are still "planning" for next year. But, because we are a hybrid (online public charter school) there is not much planning for me to do. I do.. however.. have a plan to create a strict schedule. Not just for my schooler (3rd grade) but for my possibly autistic 3 year old who needs the schedule for potty training, and also for myself to get into better health. I've been dealing with poor self esteem and poor dental hygiene skills.

Anyway.. I'm excited for when I can start implementing our new schedule.

This is what I have so far.... (sorry, I'm excited about it and have to share). Wink

Good morning! 7am (this is what time my 3 year old wakes naturally and he's our hall monitor and won't let anyone out sleep him).
Go potty and wash hands.
Have breakfast.
Brush teeth (everyone).
Subject 1 while I hopefully do dishes (our #3 will have a lot to do with whether the dishes get accomplished.. she'll be a year at the end of August).
Go potty and wash hands (3 year old, mostly).
Subject 2 while I play with younger kids.

And that's as far as I've gotten cause I'm not sure how much time it will take DS to do each subject.

Anyway.. sorry... I feel like I overshared.. i'm just excited for the new chapter in our lives to begin and for my own personal growth.

Please tell me to shut up if you want to. (there goes my low self-importance again).

Janelle - please don't shut up! We need to share and want to hear what you have to say! Sounds like a good schedule for your 3 year old. Though you might be surprised how much the 3 and 1 year old want to participate in what the older DS is doing. I'm doing preschool stuff with my 3 year old and my 18 month old wants to do EVERYTHING the older one is doing! It's made it interesting in regards to scissors and such!

We just started. DS turned 3 so I'm starting now, not waiting for Fall. My job is quieter this time of year so it's easier to find time to plan/implement especially for craft project type stuff. I think I'm going to school year round anyway, with breaks for vacations and the like and maybe shorter hours and such during summer.

Thank you. I had a hormonal flux or something when I posted this. I got a sudden feeling like I don't "count" here cause I'm not technically homeschooling, just public charter schooling at home. I stepped away from the computer after I posted and had a mental check with a friend. I'm better now.

Back on topic:

I am doing real life lessons with the boys over the summer. It's the whole Learning while playing aspect. Like when we were picking strawberries and DS#1 asked "what's that white spit looking foam?". Google time! LOL.

Glad you are better! I wasn't sure if I should post on this board either because it's "only" home preschool...but I did anyway!

Love Real Life Lesson learning! it's the little things you say to them that stick sometimes!

Please post!! I don't want the board to fizzle out. Anyone is welcome.

I am away right now but my mind is in over drive for all that I need to do for next year. It is easy to be obsessed with home schooling.

That is very normal. Just wait until you go to a curriculum fair. Totally feeds the obsession.
