Anyone ever used it? Any issues, problems, side effects? Any positive stories? I'm curious to hear what you thought of it.
I mentioned in another post that I was planning on getting the Essure procedure done (permanent BC), which I'm excited about, but the Dr who will be performing the procedure recommended I get one shot of Depo beforehand. Apparently it not only will be effective BC for the next 3 months (which is the length of time it takes for Essure to become effective) but it also does something to the "parts" involved to help make the procedure physically easier to do. Thing is, I was on the pill for 12 years and had issues with my heart because of it. I didn't realize it was being caused by the hormones until I went off of them and the issues disappeared immediately. Long story... but in any case, I'm weary of taking the Depo because it's an even stronger dose all at once. None of my docs seem concerned (or really even believe me, to be honest) about the heart issues, but I just wonder if it's worth it. I've also read that for some people it reduced their milk supply while they were nursing, and I don't think I could BF anymore if that happened because I'm not a big producer as it is.
Anyway, I know you ladies can't give me medical advice, but I just wanted to ask y'all what you thought of the Depo, because once I commit to it, it's in my system for 3 months. Thanks!
