What are your LOs eating??

We have run the gamut on baby food. He is great at eating solids but won't eat purees anymore. I make them thick and chunky and he just refuses. He only wants real ppl food. What are your kiddos eating? Breakfast is tough bc he can't eat most of what we eat (cereal, eggs, etc). He loves cream of wheat and yogurt, but I don't want to have to make crm of wheat every day. I take him to work with me three days a week and really struggle on those days. And just in general. I'd love any suggestions that I might not have thought of. He likes diced fruits and veggies and usually eats whatever we have for dinner. Since he is our first though, we don't have a home cooked dinner every night. Sometimes we just eat whatever at the last min, kwim?

Help!!

Delaney is doing the same thing. No more puree's she will take like 2 bites and then she just wants the solids! Unless it's yogurt - she loves her yogurt! She mostly does fruit for breakfast and will do some oatmeal too if I mix something in it like apples or pears. I like to make more of what she eats but I got a jar of gerber apples and cinnemon with oatmeal and she is loving it! I went back and got her some more because it's the first she's eaten in awhile of actual baby food. She's done great with nurtigrain bars, and evidently she likes sausage - this girl can gum up anything! I can't wait til she can eat eggs because it's so easy to scramble an egg!

Naava's still on baby food - cereals and fruit/veggie jars. Eats just about any kind (I've never offered banana cuz I can't stand the smell). She also loves yogurt. I mix in some oatmeal and fruit to make it a full meal. And then she can eat whatever table food that's appropriate. I took her with me to my nephew's Bar Mitzvah last week and she could not get enough of the vegetable soup they served. It was a thick soup with barley and stuff in it. I really need to make her things like that. She actually can gum up some stuff pretty well. I've given her tiny bites of chicken and she loves it.

She's really a good eater in terms of what she likes and how she manages it (the only things she's turned down are avocado and cottage cheese), but she just doesn't eat a lot of anything. Very rarely finishes a portion. And I'm still only giving her one meal a day because otherwise she cuts her bottles and that concerns me.

Why can't he have eggs or cereal? Evy loves dry cereal pieces. She's not too fond of eggs though. :/

Esti - Delaney turned down the same two, I'm going to have to find her cottage cheese face because it was hilarious! she even gave the little shake of grossness to go with it.

I made cheeseburger soup the other night and that's what she had for dinner, loved it all, potatoes, carrots, hamburger, green beans, corn, tomatoes.....but her diaper the next day was NASTY! I forget just how all these good table foods turn them into people!

I thought I read that they aren't supposed to have egg-whites yet? Is everyone else feeding their kids egg? When I talk about cereal I mean more like honey bunches of oats and stuff like that. He does like cheerios and I like it b/c it has good iron in it, but I try not to give that to him all the time.

I made pancakes today which he LOOOVED. For the most part he eats what we eat... but we just aren't big in breakfast. I should try and get some of the instant cream of wheat packets like Esti was saying.

What are your kids drinking. Corbin hasn't mastered a sippy cup but does pretty well with a regular cup, so I've pretty much been going with that. I usually give him water with some meals (like pancakes this morning b/c they are so dry!). Are you guys giving your LOs a drink with every meal?

Both are good articles about new recommendations, and also talk about introduction of other liquids. The biggest reason to delay eggs or peanut or others "allergenic foods" is because they were thought to be allergy inducing, but the research doesn't support that. We do water a lot, but mostly just stick with the breast milk. We have given prune juice a couple of times as well, but not as a liquid with the meal. Wink We are not big cereal eaters but she will eat whatever we are eating.
