Leapfrog Car Seats

What kind of car seat is your Leapfrog in now? We still have Micaiah in an Evenflo Triumph Advance but I'm planning on switching Noel out of her bucket (yep, she still fits in it!) soon. I'm thinking I'll probably use M's for her and get a new one for M but wondered if you guys had any recommendations? It doesn't have to rear face at all but I still want the 5pt harness on it. I have heard the Graco 65 (I think that's what it's called.) is good b/c it goes from infant to booster but it's a little too expensive for us I think. I'm thinking of maybe another Evenflo since that one has worked well for us.
What are you guys using?

I want to see the answers to this too Smile

Noah is just about to tall for his carseat but no where near the weight for a booster so we were going to go with the evenflo chase lx or the safety 1st vantage. Both are boosters but they have the 5 pt harness as well.

Zach has been in a Britax Regent since Sept I think. They don't make them anymore. Theo (almost 5 1/2) is still in a 5 pt harness too, a Graco Nautilus.

we switched sophie a while ago because sam got her britax marathon.

we got her this graco nautilus 3 in 1
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4043721

it is a five point harness for 20-65 lbs
converts to belt positioning booster then a high back or backless booster so she will never need another car seat again and goes up to 100 lbs.

it has cupholder which she loves and a little cubby area she sticks snacks in or little toys. its very easy to adjust and so far we really like it and I thought it was pretty reasonably priced

See I like the little cup holders and snack holders, I think M would really enjoy those. There is a cup holder that attaches to the one he has now but it really doesn't work at all. I'll probably have to go look at some IRL to see what I want.

The Nautilus was the one I was talking about - I think it's really cool that it lasts so long, but since we plan on having more kids anyway, I don't know that it really matters.

I doubt our Nautilus will ever end up in booster mode before it expires. We just bought it because it has the 5 pt harness and goes up to a high weight/height with the harness. A lot of others only harness to 40 pounds. If you find a good sale, you can get a Nautilus for $125 (still a lot but it does last a while).

I love the cupholder, it is nice and deep. Theo uses it for his matchbox cars and legos too Smile

We originally bought Tehani a 3-in-1 and Teio was in the infant carrier when we were rear ended and our insurance comany reimbursed us for the cost of two new carseats. We bought them each an Evenflo Momentum, which are good convertables--much better for rear-facing than the 3-in-1 was (and I am keeing Teio rear facing as long as possible--he is a very *small* 14 month old). When the new baby comes, we will probably get a new infant carrier. Tehani is short enough to stay in the convertable a little longer. After she outgrows it, we will probably get her a high-backed booster.

Brittany I couldn't find the one you mentioned on BRU.com. Couldn't find the first one Melissa mentioned but the other is in the link above.

wow...who would pay $300 just to have a Paul Frank monkey on thier kid's carseat? This is the one we are using: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4132501 It goes up to 65 lbs and 50" tall with a 5 point harness. I love these, but I didn't pay for them Smile

the first link you have the evenflow one is one that my friend has and she really likes it too. I know on the nautilus a lot of the reviews said something about the crotch strap being too short or close to the body, sophie is very very petite so we have no issue in that area. I would go to the store if possible, pull them down and let him try them out

that is the one J is in. it has the 5pt for up to 50lbs and can be a belt booster from 40-100lbs. I really need to check the expiration date on this to see how much longer we can use it. she meets weight for the belt booster, but not the age for my state laws. I'd rather her be in the 5pt for awhile longer anyway. but she is getting a little snug in it

sorry I have been MIA for a long time, but I wanted to weigh in. And i didn't read all the responses and you may have made your decision already...anywho...

Vicki, we have the graco myride 65 for Nathan and we love it. Target often has it on sale, in fact a couple weeks ago it was on sale for 100 (normally 150). I got a second one for when Aaron outgrows his infant seat when Toys R Us had their trade in event (saved 25% on their regular price of 160). IT has a high weight limit and it is tall.

eta: in DH's car, Nathan is in an evenflo symphony (not as tall and not as high of a weight limit, i think) that one is easy to install and reasonably priced also though.

Right now I'm looking at the Evenflo Maestro and the Safety 1st Vantage. Both do a 5pt harness up to 50lbs which is really the primary thing I want right now. I also want M to be able to clip himself in which he doesn't really do w/ the one we have now.

Lauren, if I could find the Myride for $100 it would be worth it! I would ideally like a new seat by our trip Memorial Day weekend so I'll have a couple weeks to find something.

I know BRU has coupons and Albeebabee has coupon codes so I may just figure out which one would have the best deal. (I'm thinking BRU though b/c I can go in and look at them and get "bucks" back for buying it.)

Zoey is in the Evenflo Momentum, too. I don't have any plans of taking her out of it b/c we are getting an infant carseat for Alex and she's so petite, she fits fine in it. I haven't researched anything but infant carseats so I'm not help but a friend told me about a great 5-pt. I'll ask her about it and get back to you.

Thanks Becca. I ended up getting the Evenflo Maestro. BRU didn't have the Safety First one and this one was cheaper anyways. Just have to take time to switch them over now!
