Thread: Ashly had Carolina!

Just saw on the Jan 2012 board. There are pics. She is adorable!

Thanks, Maggie. I didn't have time last night to post on here.

Ashly did have Carolina on Friday. The plan was to break her water in the morning, and I'm not sure if that's the method they went as some of the ladies on Birthing Naturally Board were trying to sway her towards pitocin due to baby's positioning.

She was 7lb 10oz and 20 inches long. Ashly reported a fast and intense labor and that she came out with bruises all over her face.

Unfortunately, she updated her facebook status with this message this morning:

"Please Pray For Carolina. There is something going on with her breathing and they are not sure what it is. We just need thoughts and prayers"

I will try to keep you all updated as she updates on FB.

Thanks Janelle for the update. That stinks about the breathing issues, I remember they had trouble with Leland's breathing too for a while. I sure hope it is something temporary and easy to fix! Keeping her and Carolina in my thoughts.

"Carolina is having issues drinking and breatheing at the same time. When she drinks from the bottle she tries to gulp it quickly and doesnt allow herself to breathe during the process causing oxygen levels to take a dip. She has to practice feeding by taking 2-5 sips then botttle is removed to allow for breathing the process is continued until the bottle is gone. The neonatoligist specialist says this is common and it usually takes 2-5 days to learn this technique. Please pray she learns quickly! love you all Please pray so we can take our princess home soon!"

She is a cutie, hope her feeding issues get sorted out quick. Congrats to Ashly and her family and WTTW Carolina.

I am finally home after a horrible recovery. Long story I had a spinal leak after my epidural and was in bed for 2 days. This morning I was able to get a spinal tap and blood patch done and feel about 75% better. They said I should be up and running fully in 7-10 days. Carolina is doing great. She is finally learned that she needs to breathe while eating. She will join us at home on Wed if she behaves. Me and the nicu are best friends! The same Nicu dr and bed LeLand was in! Crazy! Ok off to rest in bed!"

"Went to see my little diva today and she is doing much better! It was great to hold and snuggle her! They said she might be able to come home tomorrow if tonight goes well and they asked me to stay overnight in a room with her! So excited about that! I posted some new pictures of her! Have a great night!"

Good to hear her little girl is doing better. Hope she gets to bring her home.
