Toys, toys everywhere!

Just wondering what sort of organization you ladies have, my house was flooded with toys before Christmas, now that we have gone through Christmas we might be able to compete with Toys R Us when it comes to toys. I know I have to purge some toys, I'm also thinking of going to Ikea and picking up some storage solutions for other stuff.

I just did a purge before Christmas in anticipation of the Christmas explosion, and I feel like I need to do it again, already.

I just picked up this on sale this weekend and it looks so much better in their bedroom compared to the big toy box that everything got dropped in and not played with cause they couldn't see it. Lol

We have the toy organzier that you just bought Janelle - I do like it for smaller things.... but we keep it in a main living area of the house so sometimes i don't like the cluttered look it sometimes gets...

I did a purge of two large boxes of toys that were too babish for Joseph 2 weeks before christmas nad i still don't know where to put everything... and with a January birthday coming up I know there is just more toys coming!!!! AHHHHh
I hate that so many of his toys are just too big like large trucks, robot building sets, lincoln logs, tinker toys - all big large boxes... I was thinking of getting some more clear plastic bins for this type of stuff so at least it looks neater stacked in my living room rather than random cardboard boxes...
like something like this - maybe even the next size up - need to see it in person...

For the bigger items (race tracks, etc) we have the Thomas stuff in a "pop up hamper" like this (but without the character's.. ours is plain blue):

And our Shake and go track and our Lego (Kinex) Mario Kart racing stuff (we have a 7 year old who shares a room with Daniel) are in under the bed totes like this:

I have the toy bin you linked Janelle, it is wonderful for the smaller toys. Our book selection is like a library, I am thinking of getting some shelves for our living room area. I do like the idea of an under bed storage unit, going to have to see if one of those will fit under Natalie's bed. (It's a convertible crib in toddler bed stage right now)

We have an awesome space under the stairs in our new house that has a door and a light. It's an oddly shaped storage closet. It is the toy room. Frickin AWESOME! I have one of those bucket organizer things that we had at the old house. I got t fom toys r s and it's about 8 inches longer than all the rest. There are two Rubbermaid tubs in there for babies and stuffed animals and such and dress up stuff. I also recently bought one of those wire cube organizers from target, as well as lots of plastic shoe boxes in a couple different sizes. Anything with pieces goes in a tub...racetrack, train track, kitchen stuff, baby accessories etc. it's monstrous to deal with two kids who have bdays nine days before Christmas!
