Default What kind of car seat is your LO in now?

Christopher is 36lbs now and will soon outgrow his harness in his seat (it goes up to 40lbs) we are thinking about getting the Graco - Nautilus 3-in-1 Multi-Use Car Seat, Bravo.

It goes up to 65lbs in the harness and turns into a booster. It says it reclines some which i hope if i get it, that it reclines enough for his head not to slumb when he falls asleep. He falls asleep in the car alot and he complains of his neck hurting.

What is everyone else using? How long will you keep you child in the Harness system or is anyone in a booster seat yet?

We transferred Natalie to her current car seat when she was about 9 months, it's a convertible seat and goes to a pretty heavy weight (50lbs) and Natalie is light (26 lbs). I don't think we'll be looking into a different seat for a while.

Daniel will be in this car seat until he is big enough for a backless booster. He's in the Evenflo Symphony and it will hold him in harness til 65 (find out tomorrow how big he is, but I'm thinking 40 something) and then it's also a high back booster. So unless we get into a fender bender, we are not buying another one (well, until Evie needs to move to a convertible, but she's not as heavy as her brothers were, so I think she'll be in the carry seat til a full year at least.

Makenna has been in a high back booster for a while now. She is about 44 lbs and very tall.

We switched Eli's seat over the holidays. He still was fine in his convertible seat, but we bought both DD and him new boosters. We got them a Graco Booster seat that goes from 30-100 pounds. He is a really tall kid and about 38 lbs already, so we felt OK with the switch.
You can use our new booster with the high back on, and then use it without once he gets older.

Daniel was 37lbs and 38.5 inches tall. I think in my state they have to be 40lbs, 40 inches and 4 years old to use the seat belt, but I could be wrong.

H is in a First Years True Fit in my car, and an Eddie Bauer something or other in DH's. I love the True Fit, it rear faces to 35 lbs, and forward faces with harness to either 50 or 65 lbs (I can't remember). It does not transition to a booster though, so she will be out of it once she hits that weight. Not sure what we will do with Audrey when she outgrows the bucket, I may buy a second True Fit, thats how much I love it.

We are using a cosco scenera for Ellie. She weighs 36 lbs and it goes to 40. i might have to switch her and Bubba around- his carseat is a convertible that we have RF right now and it goes to 55 lbs FF so he'll have to go in the Scenera and she'll go in the Evenflo triumph Elite that we have. Glad you started this thread, i wouldnt have looked up the weight limit on her carseat otherwise! i don't think she's ready for a booster yet,i think we still need to use the toddler seat, and i'm looking up my state laws right now.

Michael is still in his convertible seat, Britax Diplomat, goes to 40lbs, he's no where close maybe 28lbs, my dd (6yo) is still in her convertible seat too (marathon, goes to 65lbs), We will still harness her for a while, she is only about 36lbs. I am looking at the seats that go from harnessed to a booster seat. She would still fit in her seat for another year or 2, height wise, but it is about to expire (we got it when she was 9 months old, and the styrofoam has cracked/broken so it's not really very safe anymore.
