    OOWWW!
Liam's ONE tooth is so darn sharp. He isn't bitting but it almost feels like he's dragging it across my nip as he nurses. I guess this is why people stop bf'ing when teethies come in...

Sometimes it hurts worse and other times he doesn't do it. I don't think it's intentional or a "game" but ow! Guess I just have to toughen up again!

WOW that story is great! It made me cry though.... bittersweet. So nice to find 25 caring unselfish women to do that, but sad that the baby will never know its mother
    Thanks for sharing Jessica

So I am in fear that breastfeeding is coming to and end for me & my son....

Here is why...I had been sick alot in August & Sept. and I also had 3 periods in a matter of 40 days so my supply had been really low and i only had 8 bottles worth of milk stored for Joe, so I started to supplement with formula, he took it fine, but now my supply is really low. I am trying to pump each time he has a bottle (formula or breastmilk) but it is getting harder and harder to pump when I am home with Joe b/c he pulls at the machine and gets angry and he rarely naps anymore! On the days I work i get in at least 4 sessions a day. When I don't work I only breast feed him, and pupm once after he has goneto bed for the night, but since he is eating so much solid food, he doesn't take much milk from me.

ANYWAY - the past 2 nights he has been waking every 10 mins. for 2-3 hours straight to eat, and it dawned on me this morning that maybe when he is nursing that i have little or no milk left and that is why he is getting frustrated? Do you think that is what it is? In my first pump this morning I bearly made 2oz (normally first pump of the day is 4-5oz) and it was mostly from one side, the other side had only a few drops. My second pump here at work only yeilded 1 oz. I almost cried.

I am not ready to give up breastfeeding yet, as my overall goal was 1 year, but i fear this is the begining of the end : (

Should I try to keep nursing Joe on the side that is producing very little milk to increase that side, or should i just concentrate on nursing the side that has some milk to keep my production up?

I would be happy to give up pumping altogether and just give him formula in the day but to still give him his before bed, middle of the night and first morning feeding from the breast. Is that possible?

HELP - I am a very sad mommy!

With the introduction of solids, the amount of breastfeeding they will do naturally goes down. That doesn't mean you have to stop, but it won't be like it was before solids. I've found that Tegan will refuse the boob when she wants solids. Try BFing after a solid meal, and have at least 2 "BF only" meals per day. A lot of people that breastfeed long term get down to 2-3 meals a day...they don't keep up feeding every 3 hours.

Oh, and I usually end up feeding on both sides to fill Tegan up. Just do what works to make a happy baby!

I also nurse from both sides because neither breast produces as much as they did previously due to the fact that DS is eating 3 solid meals a day now. I always start with the breast that produces less (the left) bc DS is really excited to eat and not tired yet. Then I finish with the fuller, right side...seems to work for us.

And Leslie - I am not superwoman, just gotta do what I gotta do!

Also, update...I was away for 4 nights last week for work and DS did well. He wasn't as interested in the bottle the first day, but took it the rest of the time. He took about 4 6 oz bottles a day. He also STTN each night I was gone! Of course since I have been home he has woken up in the middle of the night, but DH has been going in to calm him...so NO nightime feedings the last 2 nights!!! Now, if I can get him to wake later in the morning (gets up around 5 for milk, then comes into bed with us for another 2 hours)!

    K. so here's me so far. We are pretty much no longer bfing in the daytime... only at night. I'm drying up. Is it normal for my boobs to be so tender? I have fibrocystic breasts (always have) and this is mainly where they hurt.

DH was teasing me yesterday "Are you sure you're not pregnant?" each time I got up to pee (I have a UTI, so I'm giong to the bathroom twice as much). But my bbs do hurt a lot! It's just from me drying up? right?

dont ask me Janelle, you know what us POAS aholics would say LOL! its contagious!
so is Ellie a minority that nurses AT LEAST 6 times a day? sure, she's finally to the point where sometimes i try boobs and she still wants FOOD, but if i'm home all day, she could be on the boob 9 times! i'm ok with it personally, whatever she wants is fine, jut thought i'd check...

Hailey still nurses 6-7 times in 24 hours I would say. Not STTN, so she gets 2 (or more) feeds still between 7 pm and 7 am. We're only having solids twice a day, she's really not all that into them.
