I still pump one time at work but it is so sad I only get an ounce total but I refuse to quit yet. I guess I still feel that even that little mixed with formula can help him LOL. They do tell me at daycare he does not like the formula without my little bit of milk aded though so for him I will keep going.
Thats so great that he likes it with mama's milk better!
ok, so my progression of nursing has changed soooo much so far!
once upon a time i had a bitty baby who nursed every 2 hrs or more often, we had to keep her to that because of jaundice, and she stuck to it! i was pumping and storing 8 oz a day on top of feeding her everything. In september when i went back to college, i decided i did not want to pump between classes, so i weaned myself from the pump, and luckily did not have to supplement with frozen or formula on my days off class.
then about a month ago, Ellie stopped taking bottles while i was at work. she also started biting cheerios in half with her coordinated teeth, and taking the heads off teddy grahams. but she still nursed at least 6 times a day since she wouldnt take a bottle. the past week she's been at 4-5 times a day nursing, and thats about it.... and now that whatever cold or teething issue she had has gotten better, she's only waking once a night (sigh!) and she only falls asleep nursing for bed anymore, not randomly during the day!
I have a sore bomb..I mean, boob! Hailey is teething (she has 2 on the bottom in the middle but thats all) and 2 nights ago she bit me. HAARD. It seriously still hurts to nurse her on that side. My nipple didn't even feel this bad when she was a newborn. It's even sore when she's not on it.
My DH suggested I put ice on it. Then he made a series of dirty comments and suggestions. Fat lot of help he is.
just curious if any of you ladies have a plan on when you are going to stop bfing. it is still working for us, and i dont think either one of us is ready to stop, so i have no plan of stopping anytime soon. laney is still up at night and i nurse her to sleep. i am not sure what i would do (or her) if i did not have the boob to offer her. i guess she would just scream her head off but that is not an option for us at our house.
also another ?, when i start to introduce cows milk, how much and when do i give it to her? is it going to replace a bf session? now she nurses when she wakes, a couple hours later before her nap, 4-5 hours later before her 2nd nap, and then before bed (then at night a couple times as well).
I wonder about the cow's milk too. Seems like a ton of dairy if it replaces BFing...I feel like I'd rather wait til he is down to just a couple bottles/BF sessions a day before I switch to cow's milk. Why replace my milk with the milk of another animal if he still nurses a bunch?
Oh and about pumping....I only pump once a day at work and still make enough milk on days off.
