Oh no ! Funny we were going to drive to Calgary for spring break (there is a lamp I want from Ikea very much but they won't ship it grrr) but we were worried about weather unpredictability this time of year and decided against it). Hope it's a small storm!!!

8 inches later......

Today was beautiful, it was sunny and warm but tons of snow around. We tried to take DD sledding, but b/c it was 8 inches of the white stuff, she and her sled sank into it. Fun for maybe the 1st 30 secs...then she was sooooooooo done after that LOL.

It was probably good you didn't try to come down here yesterday....if you could have come today tho, it would have been perfect weather! Roads were all clear and bare too, at least the roads around our place.

Whereabouts do you live?

Anyways, I'm still waiting for AF to arrive. It's gone from brown to red tinged CM, so any moment now I'm sure. Esp as according to FF, it's due tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it b/c if AF arrives tomorrow then I can go book my HSG test and also book my Day 3 and Day 19 appts with the lab!

Thanks, Amanda, I may take you up on that offer once I know when it will take place! I have read up a little on the internet and here. I also have to ask the transplant clinic if the dye is going to be ok for me and my kidneys since I am a kidney transplant recipient.

Hows the weather: Odd... these last two weeks have been REALLY warm, like mid-80's to the low 90's... then today it was 80 but now the winds are going and it's about 50 out there. When the wind dies I'm sure it will heat back up again... feels like we skipped the beautiful 70's Sad

Anything interesting going on? Not really... we've been travelling a lot lately, looking forward to getting back to our regular schedule.

So this month I think I'm going to try the Sperm meets Egg method... I'm already slacking though cause I was supposed to start using the OPK's on CD 8 and I'm on CD 9 and haven't even bought them yet. I did read one that said it was okay to start on CD 10. Has anyone tried this method?

I have 2 January babies!!!! My dd was born Jan 10 and my ds Jan 15. I found it so exciting to be so close to delivery after New Years. That post-christmas blues didn't affect me at all because I had something even more exciting coming up!! It is really good for school purposes for where I live as the cut off for Kindergarten is December so I have to wait another year and they are a bit older and are ready for Kindergarten. I have a November baby and she is only going to be 4 in Kindergarten and she seems sooo not ready for it as opposed to the other kids going in this fall. As far as The kids feel, they don't mind at all-I thought they might but not a bit! I have to admit that sometimes it's a bit annoying because Christmas and New year has just passed and most people have run out of steam for another party. And make sure you get bday presents before Christmas because the shelves are still a little bare and it may be hard to get that special toy because Toys R us may not have one in yet as they were sold out at christmas.... I also have bday parties at the end of January or February just to let my family recover a bit from christmas spending. But then again, here I am going for a third january baby!!!

Hows the weather: Ranges from 70s to 80s (Fahrenheit). Today it's supposed to be 89! (I liked the 70s better, lol.)
Anything interesting going on? Recently started a Work-at-home job, working for my brother who owns a computer business.

I enjoyed reading everyone else's post Smile :goodluck: to everyone!

I'm also hoping for a New Year's Day baby, which means I'll need to O on the early side (for me), around CD 14. Big temp drop today, which usually happens a few days prior to O (marks the beginning of several days of lower temps), so.... possible, maybe? I also had a dream a couple of months ago about having an EDD of January 1st!

TTC how long?: This one is a bit complicated and needs a longer explanation. Dh and I had decided we wanted another baby, but hadn't started trying yet and had a surprise pg (we were preventing, but obviously were not careful enough) back in August that I m/c at 5 weeks. We decided we would continue to wait because we were going to Hawaii in December as an early anniversary trip and we had already signed up for Scuba lessons in Nov and were going to scuba in Dec--and you can't scuba pg. So were were going to stop using condoms while in HI. So we began our lessons and right before my last certification dive, I got a + pg test--WTH! We were surprised because we were VERY careful--so it must have been a broken condom or something! Dh said it was impossible! I carried the baby to 12 weeks, found out the heartbeat had stopped around 8 weeks and m/c 2 weeks later at 14 weeks. Now we have been waiting a few months to get my body back in order after that m/c--as it was later and very hard on my body. So this will be our first cycle ACTUALLY trying as the other 2 we were not trying.

Hows the weather: Cold and rainy--in Seattle area it always is Wink

Anything interesting going on? This is spring break for my older kids, not doing much though. Coming up soon: we are going to travel in the beginning of May to my SIL's wedding.

Im about two hours south of seattle.. towards oregon.. and its sooo rainyyy ugh!! I was hoping that maybe the CLOUDS would at least come out a bit so I could plant some things... probably gonna be another crappy gardening year Sad

Does the school year run differently in canada?? The cutoff here is Sept 1st, so I have a sept 12th baby so he'll be old when he goes to kindergarten (well not OLD but almost 6) so I think a spring/summer would be nice because then they wont be a year behind!

*Lurker*

Good luck to everyone TTC!! I wish I could join you, but DH isn't completely on board with a third. Yet. I'm working on him haha.

Anyways, I believe it's different all across the country. Here in B.C., the cutoff is Dec. 31st, not too big of a deal for my DD, who is pretty much middle of the year(June 23). For DS, he'll be a bit of an older kindy kid, he is April 21.
When we lived in Edmonton, AB, that year DD started kindy, their cutoff was Mar. 15 (I think, may have been Mar. 1) either way didn't affect us Smile

We have full-day kindy across the province starting this year too. Some schools already do it(like DDs). Also some schools are on semester programs, so they go for 3 months then have a full month off, but their official year start is September to keep consistent. Smile

Is anyone doing any different this cycle or adding anything?

We have been trying for 16 months now and today I saw a new Re and I am going to do iui with clomid and a trigger shot. I am very excited to finally get the ball rolling and hope to get pregnant very soon!

We'll be using the SMEP this cycle. We have done the OPKs and the every other day BDing but not together! :lovebed:

Didnt have AF last cycle but blood work came back Neg and I had some super light spotting for three days on and off but not enough for me or doc to say it was AF. So I am hoping I still O this cycle, but doc says she see's no reason why I wouldnt and suggest the SMEP after a long talk about where I wanted to go from here.

Since we have been TTC for 12 total months now [we were JLIH but clearly no luck] we have decided to try on our own for two more cycles including this one, and if nothing happens think about IUI.

I don't really love it here.. I HATE rain.. so this is the worst.. haha... I lived in Portland for a while during school and really enjoyed it, just because there is SO much to do!! ESPECIALLY with kids, and I love all the cool places... But now I live about an hour away in WA and its a smallish town and kinda blah..

We'd love to escape I think.. Kevin has a really good job so its hard to leave... We've thought about him going to work for the railroad, then we could travel like a military lifestyle haha.. Which I think would be fun!!! I'd miss people, but it'd be an adventure and a good excuse for me to be a SAHM Smile

OH and sun would be awesome!!!

I'm doing #2 IUI, I'm on CD3 and started injectables today. The RE nurse has me going in on the 11th to see if the eggs are getting juicy. I'm guessing that if all goes well with the bloodwork and ultrasound, we will probably be doing another IUI next week. I'm going to do something different with this IUI, I'm taking my trigger shot ealier. I think I took it too late. She said to take it at 10pm the night before the 10am IUI on friday. Well I didn't feel ovulation pain untill saturday morning. Washed sperm doesn't live as long as fresh-outa-the-penis sperm so I think by the time we were able to BD, it was too late for the eggs. So, I'm taking that trigger shot ealier and we are doing it the next day after the IUI.

Christina, good luck with #2 IUI!

Oh Cait, I would LOVE to live (or at least visit) Portland OR, I've been there once when I was about 20 and just fell in love with the place ever since. DH has submitted a request to attend one of two conferences being held there and I hope his employer will approve it!

Cait, you also asked about school years and cut-offs...as the other PP said, for BC, it's Dec 31 (b/c I grew up in BC, I remember this well). In Alberta, it's different, Feb 28 is a cutoff. DD's bday is Feb 13, so she could go early or late....and I haven't decided yet. She is tall for her age and can speak very well for her age, and is quite well behaved (as much as a 2 year old can be!) but I worry that everyone will forget she will only be 4.5 yo when she starts kindergarten. On the other hand, if I wait a year, she will be heads and shoulders over everyone else and then I worry that everyone will think she's behind (and clearly she is not). Lots for me to think about.

AshleyAutumn, *hugs*, I've been TTC for 15 months now, so I know how you feel. I hope that you will get a BFP soon!!

Ashly, that is very exciting, I hope this works for you on the 1st try! I am going to make a real effort to temp (despite DD's nightmares waking us up every night lately) and also do the SMEP plan as well.

AFM, AF finally arrived today. It's been a packed day as I had a routine post-transplant follow up appt this morning, then work and 5,000 phone calls (or seemed like it) to schedule my Day 3 and Day 19 blood tests, ask the gyn clinic nurse to book my HSG test, and work phone calls to make. I wanted to phone the seller and ask some questions about the balance bike they sell, but never even had any time to think about that! My post-transplant appt went super well, all my bloodwork came back normal, just some minor adjustments/updates to my meds. I had a chat with them about trying for another child, and they were very supportive! Although of course as doctors they had to remind me of the risks to my kidney transplant when conceiving and carrying a baby etc. But they felt I would be ok since I already have one child and my kidney function has been stable. Yay!

Ooops, sorry for the novel! Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Hiya guys! School started today so i SHOULD be doing some sort of homework.. But Its kind of a relaxed week and so Im kinda.. procrastinating!!! Tomorrow I start aerobics/zumba class so that should be interested.. Its my first time taking it in a class setting since highschool... Eeek...

Also, get my student loans tomorrow, so that might cheer me up.. I know its bad but I'm basically using my student loans/financial aid money to save up for baby money.. I didnt even really tell Kevin I was getting any aid or loans... I kinda feel bad hiding money, but at the same time I feel that who could be upset if they found out there was money hidden away?? Not me!!! hehe...

Im anxious to see what this cycle brings, the last time I went off of BCP I got an AF in mid cycle (like right when I should of O'd) and kinda started over from there (probably adjusting to being off the pills) so Im kinda hoping for that in a way, because then I'll REALLY TTC since I'd be due end of Jan... but kinda hoping it stays away so I can have two shots for feb... oh decisions!!!

Today I bought 4 more baby clothes items.. I cant fight the urge to buy cute baby clothes when It's on clearance!! like 2.50 a peice!!!

I WAAAY overspent with Brody, didnt notice sales, coupons, basically anything (I blame the hormones) so this time I'm gonna be so much better, only buying what I need and fighting the compulsive shopping habit and buying clearance!!!

Kevins asleep on the couch already (well "his chair") as usual lately.. ever since he switched back to dayshift he is extra sleepy at night and wont go to BED but passes out in the livingroom and I can never get him to get up...So then I sneak onto pg.org

Brody used to be SUCH a great sleeper.. and now he likes to cry a longgg time before going to bed.. we had 4 great nights in a row and then last night he kept crying... so today he had a nap and now hes crying again.. I hate when they actualy SAY things instead of crying (It was easier to listen to the wah wah wah.. then it is to listen to "MOMMY PLEASE HELP ME I NEED TO GO TO A BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!" and odd things like that.. hehe)

Does anyone else "sneak" on here?? I feel so secretive because I dont want kevin to see/read what I'm doing on here.. Because he's not really in "TTC" mode.. so its JLIH for him so I dont want ot get "caught" planning .. oops.. but even when I was pg with Brody I didnt really want him to see what I was up to... I feel sneaky..

Sorry for the novel

As for doing anything different, since this is our first official month trying, we're just going to do our best! Wink And actually, we would love a girl next, so dd will have a sister who is not TOO much younger than her (because of course, whatever we have we will be excited about--and we plan on having 2 more we think). So we are going to try the Shettles method to get a girl. LOTSA bding up until 2-3 days before Oing. We'll see how that works out! LOL

Oh, and some school districts allow early entry--ours here in seattle area does (we are in bothell but not in bothell school district). So we tested our dd in early--oct bday. She made it and is in K this year and doing great. Entered K at 4 yrs 10.5 months. BUT I wouldn't recommend it with all kids and be especially choosy on early entrance for a boy--not to be sexist, but I did a lot of research when making the decision for dd and many things I read sited that girls mature faster and b/c of the whole sports thing, boys being the youngest might be detrimental.

Hi Ladies...Do you mind if I hang out here?

I had my first (what I thought) positive OPK on Monday night but then I had definitely positive OPK Tues and Wed (VERY POS). Today it was back to the same intensity of Monday but I am temping and my temps indicate I haven't ovulated yet. It may be today or who really knows with my wacky body.

But anyways, I calculated and if I ovulate tomorrow the due date will be 12/31/11 or 1/1/12 so do you mind if I hang out here and in your 2w.w? It seems like December is settling in with all the pregos and I don't really feel like I belong right now.

Holly- Just FYI: Shettles has been proven as bogus by science. If you do get preggo using his 'method' it's been shown it's just because of chance, which is 49/51% girl/boy anyway. Just letting you know as I am so intrigued by why's and how's of gender and did tons on research on 'choosing' gender. Diet is more reliable and many have shown the O+12 to be more accurate. But honestly, mist timing just makes it harder to get preggo.

I have tons of friends who DTD on O day and got preggo with little girls. There is a site called in-gender that has lots of info on this topic.

Angela- that's an awesome EDD! And you know you are always welcome!

What is O+12?!??! I love reading about these different "ways" to have a gender.

Have any of you seen the show on TLC or Discovery health.. called... IDK the name, something obvious like "5 boys and wanting a girl" haha.. about families with 3-tons of boys and will do anything possible for a girl? Its interesting and sad at the same time!! I feel bad for them!!

I had been DYING for a girl, but now that I have a boy, i can't think of anything more perfect then a mini of him.. haha... so I'm happy that either way I'll be so excited.. Maybe if I had 3-4 Boys I'd probably dream of a girl... If I keep having boys its just an "excuse" for me to keep going.. hehe

But yeah, the O+12 Im dying to hear about.> I guess I could google but thats no fun Smile

Holly- Interesting about the school thing! Due to the fact he's born in September, he'll just be "old" for his class, which I would prefer to too young.. Just be nice to be taller, older, more mature.. And that doesnt mean he has to miss out on learning, I was going to put him into a private Kinder (that allows 4-5 year olds) so it'll be like a jumpstart in a way, then he'll be extra ready for public school kinder. I'd rather him be overly prepared and just breeze through it, then struggle to catch up (if that were the case!) And the size thing would be nice, Me and kevin both arent very tall, so the odds are he's going to be middle sized, or hopefully not too short.. so an extra 11 months might help him out Smile

And Angela- Welcome!! I know what you mean about wanting to switch over, whenever all the preggos start gathering I like to hippidy hop to the next board Smile I was due Aug 27th with my son, so I never really got into the Aug board and hung out in the Sept board! He must of realized it since he didnt come out til Sept 12th Smile
When I do get pg, I'll most likely be due the very beg. of the month as well (Jan 3rd, Feb 3, March 1st) So I'l probably board hop- Plus you get to meet more friends!! Smile

O+12 is DTD only 12 hours after O. I still don't understand how they know but people who follow the method chart obsessively and OPK, etc. to time O properly and abstain for days until 12 hours after O. I guess it came about from a mom with tons (like 7) boys who really wanted a girl and had quite a few Shettle's opposites. Well, she finally got her girl with O+12.

I have 4 boys and I am just brainwashed to think I will have nothing but so I don't even worry about the gender thing. I love my boys and honestly, by now, am totally frightened of having a girl. (Though I would love to adopt an older girl).

ok so I am curious....how do you know the exact hour that you O to do the O+12? I don't really get any ovulation pains, and even if I did, I have read that you can get them before, during, or after you actually do release the egg.

I have 1 boy right now and we are on the "2 and through" plan. I don't really mind if I get a girl or boy. Part of me wants a boy for the covenience and "brother" factor (hand me downs, boys can play boy things together, no dealing with teenage girl attitudes, we already have tons of boy toys) but then part of me wants a girl so I can buy the cute girl clothes and experience having a daughter (shopping trips, getting our nails done, etc.).

Either way, I have two nieces so I can get my girl fix with them if I end up having 2 boys.

TTC how long?: Officially starting the count this month, but normally we just leave it up to
TPTB. Last month I thought for sure I was preggers but AF showed up.

Hows the weather: Warm and sunny - but it's florida, so at any moment it could drop 30 degrees and start pouring.

Anything interesting going on? My father is very ill and has required 24hr care for about 4 weeks now so my husband and I (as well as my brothers when they can) have been here with him. I usually take the overnight shift so here I am delirious this morning talking about TTC LOL If the family knew they'd say we're nuts Smile Then again, we kind of are so that is okay!

Hope to see lots of HPT+'s this month Smile

So sorry to hear about your father and your BFN last cycle!

I love your weather report! haha We have the same issue here in Indiana. One minute beautiful and the next its snowing in the middle of April haha.

We havent told our family about trying to TTC because they would think we are nuts as well haha! Its been hard to hide for over a year and we know some people are suspicious as to why I never drink, always seem to have a Dr apt ect haha.

GL on TTC!

Wishing everyone loads of baby dust and sticky beans!

I forgot to do my OPK today :/. It's my first month doing them so I'm still trying to get my groove. According to FF I don't start my O week until tomorrow... so I should be okay with missing today.

Good luck to everyone!

My SIL has been trying to get pregnant for about 4 years... it finally happened for them and she's 11 weeks along right now. I'm so excited and happy for them, but also a little jealous which makes me feel really guilty. We've been trying for number 2 for almost a year now and it's starting to wear on me. We're another one that's hiding the fact that we're TTC... our immediate families are great but we don't think they'd be very supportive... so when it happens we will try our hardest to keep it to ourselves for a while.

I know they say to do OPKs every day at the same time, but I have forgotten to take one and just done it as soon as I remember. But since you dont think you should O until next week you should be a okay (:

Its also totally normal to feel jealous! I feel that way sometimes when I talk to one of my closest friends [she is due in 2 months!] She wasnt even trying, its justs makes me frustrated. So dont feel guilty because I am sure everyone who has been TTC for even a short amount of time has felt that twinge of jealousy!

Hiya!
I havent been on in a few days, for ONCE went out last night (While kevin stayed home with Brody!) Only was gone like 3 hours, but it sure felt niceee!! It shows how much I dont get out when I only had two drinks, and felt like CRAP this morning! YIkes!!!

AFM, Today we went to pick out bridesmaids dresses, which went really well.. Im 100% sure that the mirrors at Davids Bridal are slanted and maybe the lighting if fixed as well because for the first time ever I actually felt I looked good, which I never go, especially in a dress. Haha.. Its probably a trick to get ppl to buy dresses there...

Anyways, My dress.. is... SKIN TIGHT>. sooo.. I guess no "OOPS" will be happenin this month, and maybe not next.. UGH!!!

On the bright side, if im not pregnant I could tan before?? Love how thats the only bright side I can think of, well besides the fact then I wont bust the seems (literally) of the dress.

Sooo yeah.. dang

It wont be here for 8 weeks, so it'll be a little too late to alter!!

OK! Officially in the TWW now. Got a super + OPK yesterday afternoon. I've never actually gotten one this positive looking before lol

Ashley! I'm glad I'm not the only one who is TTC in secret lol I am actually quite surprised that my family is so weird about having more than 2 kids (or more than one in some cases) considering that mom had 5, grandma had 5, great grandma had 14) it's only this newer generation that is slow on the babymaking!

I have four older brothers, only two have children and each of them only have 1! I find it somewhat silly that I'm the only girl, the youngest, and I already have two and going for 3 lol

Psychegal, that is a totally pretty-pink-positive OPK!! Good luck!

I was hoping to follow the SMEP plan this cycle, but between me getting food poisoning and DH coming down with something, this cycle could almost be a write off! Grrrr! I hope not - but in any case, trying to figure out when I O (esp when I hardly ever get positive OPKs) could be interesting!

Well, sometimes all the right things happen when everything seems to strike against it, and sometimes when all the odds are in your favor AF shows up and ruins your month, so who knows! Maybe all the wackiness will help Smile

So I think I O'd today, or maybe yesterday, or maybe tomorrow... so basically who knows Smile I got my pos opk sat and cm sat and not much after that!!

Im kind of perplexed because... I told kevin I was off my BCP now... and yesterday I said it was my most fertile day so stay away... and what do you know, he was DETERMINED last night... and he said we had no condoms which is a lie.. they might be expired but we have some!!
So despite my "IM FERTILE!" protests... I guess I might have a chance this month afterall...
Guess it wont be too hard to try the next months if he obviously isn't putting up a fight.. Hehehe
