Apt today

Went for my 36 week checkup. Im a little upset because my body hasnt done anything on its own yet Sad I know it is still too early but I was still hoping for something. Took him a few minutes to get her hb today, it was really really low, im guessing that means shes getting into position? Zachs was always up higher on my belly. Had the groupb swab done and I'm measuring 38 instead of 36 this week. I have also been on the 1lb a week which is expected. All-in-all not too bad, still wish I would have softened or something by now.

Sorry about the disappointing news about not doing anything yet. Sad But glad everything else is looking good. I would bet that she is probably sitting pretty low in your pelvis if that's where they found the heart beat. Are you going to use EPO or anything to help soften your cervix?

I don't think I will have my midwife to any sort of checking on me until I am about 39 weeks, if I make it to 39 weeks, just because I don't want any disappointing news either. But if I get to 39 weeks I will see if she will do a membrane sweep on me if I'm favorable. I won't do one unless I'm at least 3cm dilated and at least 50% effaced. I seriously can't believe we are getting so close to baby time! I'm so excited but I know I will be so jealous of all of you holding your sweet baby's while I am still pregnant and anxiously waiting for little one to arrive. Wink

No I haven't started the EPO yet, I am going to go get some possibly tonight. I am just terrified that I wont do anything and then my vbac goes right out the window because if it comes down to needing to be induced I will just do a csection since the one with my son failed. I can take the EPO now correct? I am still finicky about the insertion, once you dilate do you still insert it? It cant do any harm to the baby if you didnt know you were dilated can it? I'm glad I have you around to bug about my questions with it. Natural induction is way out of my knowledge area lol.

It is crazy we will all have our babies soon. I only have 4 weeks left and it seems like so long away and I feel so rushed about it all. My mom will be on a shut down and with me until Jan 2 and we just found out we get my step kids on the 26th-8th so I would REALLY love for her to be here so they can meet her and for her to be here before my mom goes back to work since my hubby can only take a couple days off. Also, I have the thought of what if I go into labor while hubby is getting the kids/bringing them back home because its a 2 day thing, he drives down one day and bac the next since its such a long drive. UGH I just have to keep telling myself it will all be over before I know it and stop stressing! lol

Yeah you can take it now. It wont harm baby or anything if you use it after you start dilating and effacing. I used it with DS2 up until the night I delivered him and I was 3cm 80% effaced when I when into labor. If it doesn't do anything for you then no harm done I say, you can't say that about the medical inductions. Wink

I really hope you get your VBAC, I'm routing for all you mommas that are trying it!

Is it insertable now or does that wait until 37-38 weeks?

You are supposed to wait till 37 weeks just to make sure that you aren't rushing your body into something it isn't quite ready for. I honestly started a little after 36 weeks with DS2. But do what you feel comfortable doing. Also try to relax as much as possible and visualize your body opening up and getting ready. Sounds super hippy but if you are worried and stressed about things happening the tissues down there wont relax and your body is fighting with them trying to get them to open. You need to open your mind up and release the fear you have about it not working and just let your body relax and do what it needs to do and TRUST in your body. Smile

congrats on a good appointment. Baby being low is a good sign! If it makes you feel any better I didn't get checked at my 36 week appt due to bleeding at 35 weeks but at 35 weeks there was nothing happening. I had an appt yesterday (37.5 weeks) and was 2cm dialated. Are you having any braxton hicks contractions? I noticed mine have picked up so that's probably what is changing my cervix a little. You still have plenty of time to start making some changes and you never know, you can go from 0-3cm (or more) in a week in no time if your body is ready! You are in the home stretch, baby will be here soon!

Yeah I do get BH, they have actually been picking up, along with cramping. The cramping actually kept me up at night a couple days ago because it was so bad in my lower back. I am not sure how often he checks since I was checked once with my son and then scheduled for an induction 2 weeks later so I guess i will find out when I go back next week. I wont REALLY start stressing over it unless I do absolutely nothing by 38 weeks lol.

I didn't realize the cervix could start dilating this early? Is it expected to happen sooner for people who have had babies before? I haven't been checked yet but I just assumed it would be a couple weeks yet before changes started though I have been losing pieces of what I assume is my cervical plug (thick yellow snot-like stuff) this past week and having BH tightening and cramping off/on.

I am sorry your body isn't doing what you want it too. I would try the epo it would never hurt! Hope the baby comes when your step kids are there and you can all enjoy her together!

Hubby gets paid tomorrow so im going to go get the EPO and see if that works, it will be a day shy of a week i'll be taking it whenever I see my OB on Wednesday, unless they can tell if your dilated through u/s? I have a measurement one on Tuesday to make sure she isn't too big to vbac. I would LOVE for them to be here whenever she is here Smile They go back on the 8th which also makes me nervous because IF she isn't here by then DH will be on the road on my actual due date coming home :/ I'm not mad about it just a little nervous lol. I have my mom and sister here but I would hate for me to go into labor on my due date and him miss part or all of it because he's driving back here. If i had opted for the csection she would be here for about a week befre they left but I have been so amped about my vbac that I will just hope and pray she comes before they leave. I will do what I can to help my body progress, which includes playing just dance every day once I hit full term haha.
