Baby Showers!!! :)

Who is having one? Do you have a date yet? Did you do a registry!!!

Time is really just flying by!!! Its time to think about showers! My friend from church is throwing me a diaper shower and lunch. It will be Nov 5th. Were having lunch and chocolate fondue and a few games. I am looking forward to it!

I don't expect we'll have a shower. Really, besides disposable items, there are like 3 or 4 things we need to buy. I'm hoping one of the grandparents can pick up the only big ticket item...our new baby car seat. The old one is expired.

If we are having a girl I have a friend that will be giving me a shower and it will be the beginning of December. If it's another boy I will just use everything I already have.

No shower here, I am already finding people to give the girl clothes to. This baby will be our last, and I really don't want to hang onto the stuff if I don't have to. I already have plenty of people buying boy clothes for him or offering their boys old clothes. other than clothes all we need are diapers and a stroller. When we registered for my daughter we made sure to register for a lot of gender neutral things in case our second was a boy.

Yay for baby showers! I am having 2 I think- one in my hometown at the beginning of November and then another at work, maybe mid-November or early Dec. I really don't need much so I'm sure I will get tons of clothes (yay!) and maybe some diapers.

I think my family/friend one will be in October and my co-workers will probably throw me one later in the year. I haven't registered anywhere yet...kept saying I was waiting until we found out the gender so I guess I don't have an excuse anymore.

Not here. I actually had to fight NOT to have one with DS#4 and friends threw me a surprise one anyway.

I won't be having one this time around as I don't need anything that I'm not already buying. My MIL offered us another crib that matches DS#4's so that was wonderful of her. He already has TONS of clothes and I want a BOB Duallie (I LOVE my single!!!). Otherwise just little things for the room are all I need.

I think I'm weird in that I really love buying everything for baby and I really hate even asking for things. We had our eye on a crib for Nash and then MIL called and asked if she could so I didn't even expect that, and in fact even told DH that we would be buying his crib.

Not me. Even though it's my first. My family is German and my husband's family is Dutch (even my SIL has a German mother and Metis father) and this is simply not a tradition in our respective cultures. And since I'm still relatively new to this city and all my "Canadian" friends are all back East, my husband's family are the people I'm closest to. So, while I might get a very small family gathering with cake and a nightie, I don't expect anything. But, I'm totally fine with that; the concept of a shower is really foreign to me.

Besides, my SIL had a baby boy in January 2011, so I'll be getting all the clothes from her. My BIL even joked that we will never have to buy a single article of clothing; Jonah will be wearing Liam's cast-offs until college... And my mother is coming in October, and I'll be doing all the big ticket shopping then, with her credit card...mwuahhahahah! I've got my eye on a BOB jogging stroller (my husband has delusions of actually jogging with the baby--I just want it because it's supposed to be great in snow, and man does it snow here.)

My mom and 2 friends are throwing me one for friends and my side of the family. That will be Oct 22. My MIL and SIL are throwing me one for their side of the family and DH's church friends that he grew up with. My friend at work is throwing me one at work over the lunch break. Mostly these will be diaper/wipe showers and I'm sure I'll get lots of pink clothes. LOL
