Doppler

Good Day Ladies

Well I was just getting ready to purchase my new Doppler BUT I have so many people telling me not too .. BOOOOO

A few say it's a waste of money since I get that at the Doc office.. and my friend says it’s not accurate enough.. hmmmm well I do feel the baby move around a lot more lately... perhaps I should save my money.. I am kinda torn between what to do.. Sad

I would feel the same way as you. You can hear it at the OB (if you are that patient) and if you can feel movement - why not save the money for something else. I borrowed one, otherwise I don't know if I would have bought one myself.

I love mine and I'm so glad I bought it. That said, if you're on a budget and you're content with feeling the movement of baby, then go ahead and pass. Also, patient enough to wait every 4 weeks for your OB Appts, don't get it, especially if you're not sure.

But if YOU want it, you should get it. If your not sure about buying, you can rent them, too. If I am looking to purchase something and I keep going back and forth, I just skip it. If I'm not sure, I don't want it that badly.

I really like being able to listen anytime I was. In my opinion it's inexpensive and small and very easy to use. And hearing that little HB is just so sweet. Even when baby is moving or that I know everything is good, I still enjoy listening and letting DH listen. But this us just my opinion and experience.

Try craigslist - I've seen lots of them there.

Roni, I felt the same as you & this is what I determined. I got it for $55. I can probably sell it on craigslist when I'm done w/ it for $45-50. So that means that I get a toy that will provide me w/ peace of mind for about $10. Divide that among 5 or 6 months & you're hardly paying anything in the end.

**lurker**

I would advise against it only bc those waves aren't good for the fetus. They are stronger than U/S waves and not intended to be used so frequently.....better safe than sorry IMO.

Me neither. And the research I've done says that they're fine. Everywhere I read said to use it for less than five minutes at a time, which is fine with me. I find the heartbeat, listen for a second and breathe easy for the day.
