It went well. Just a boring, routine first appt. They had me pee in a cup as soon as I got there, and then the nurse took me in and did a weight check (always SO fun), and did a BP check. My BP was perfect (115/80). Then she asked me when my last period was and she said the computer gave her an EDD of Jan. 1st. She asked if that was the correct date and I said no. I said online calculators gave me Jan. 7th. She said the online calculators are more accurate because the computer system at the Dr's office measures based on a 28 day cycle. I told her my cycles are always longer than that.
Then the Dr. came in and gave me a requisition form to get my blood work done and a requistion form to book an U/S. She wants me to have it done as soon as possible to get a more accurate EDD. I will try to book it for around 8 weeks. My OB always recommends waiting until then to see a heartbeat. I have to see her one more time on June 17th to discuss all the test results and to have a breast exam done, and then she will refer me to my OB. That will be my last appt. with her ever, as we start seeing a new GP on June 22nd. The timing worked out perfectly. I will be completely done with her and the referral will go through before she knows that we are switching Dr's.
The nurse was so excited. She said "maybe this time it will be a girl !" I have to go and do my blood work on Monday and I'll also call to book my U/S first thing Monday morning. I can't wait for the U/S. I think it will feel more real once I see the baby. :D
