FB announcements xp

How have you (now or in previous pregnancies) announced your pregnancy on FB? I googled it and there are tons of sites with witty ideas on how to announce it. I plan to say something Friday after my 2nd ultrasound but not sure what to say.

I've thought of posting a picture of the u/s and saying "Just got to spend some quality time with Baby (last name) #2" or something to that affect.

(lurkers join in please Smile )

With DS #1 I didn't have FB yet so I never had to announce. However, I know it will come out really soon from my friends and family that know so I would rather it be me that tells everyone.

I put something along the lines of:

In nine months, we will have 3 kids 3 and under. Lord help us.

Sounds like a cute idea Jenn! I'll probably do it after my first ultrasound, I have a picture with Jack wearing a "big brother" shirt so I'll probably post something with that and maybe the u/s pic. I didn't have FB either yet when I was pg with Jack.

I have no clue how or when we'll announce. We may announce it after we get back from our Memorial Day trip to HH. I kinda feel like we should wait till I'm ten weeks which would be in two weeks. Is it too early to announce at nine? So confusing! I was thinking about saying "will be celebrating News Year 2012 at _____ hospital!" Hmmm...

I just posted my "guess date" and waited for people to figure it out. Smile

So did you just put "January 30, 2012". That's cute! How long did it take for them to get it?

For DD, I put a picture of DS wearing a big brother shirt on my profile. We're not telling anyone for a while with this one, and I'm not quite sure what we're going to do yet.

Yep. It took a couple hours before some one asked if we were expecting.

Ive thought about putting something along those lines. Like "this Christmas all I want from Santa is a pain free delivery" or "No new years eve party for us - unless of course XYZ hospital will allow it". Obviously need to polish that up a bit to make it flow better.

I plan on being "Facebook official" after my NT scan June 6th. I was planning on posting my u/s photo and just saying that we are excited and happy to announce that Nicholas will be a big brother at the end of December.

I didn't have FB when I was preg with T.

Jenn, I love your ideas, especially "No new years eve party for us - unless of course XYZ hospital will allow it."

I don't know what I will do. I think I'm going to wait until after we already tell everyone that we plan to tell in person. Then....I don't know, maybe the ultrasound pic. Haha, I wish I was clever, but it will probably be along the same lines as how I told DH - just a simple "Guess what? I'm pregnant."

I never announced my pregnancy with DS#4. Just didn't think about it. Plus, I don't really use it all too often.

I know I won't share until after family knows but even then, I'm still torn on if I actually will announce there. Just not that important, you know?

Thought this was VERY clever, and plan on recreating something like this when baby #2 is on the way. Smile

That's how DH likes to tell people "oh yeah, Jennifer is pg" Um - really?! No fun riddle? No big long story with a shocking ending? LOL

LOL - Some of us (like me and your DH) are just not clever enough for that. When I was preg with DS, I found out in October, and one of my friends told me that I should tell DH that I was going as a preg lady for Halloween. I thought that was cute. But what I actually said is "Guess What...It's Halloween....and I'm pregnant." Lol

Ha Alissa. I just liked saying stuff like "Deacon, did you tell grandma that you are going to be a big brother?" Stuff like that. But Dh thinks its lame and you should just come out and say it.

*Lurking* I decided recently that If I'm to get pg this cycle or next, I'll give DS a "little brother" or "little sister" onesie at his bday party so everyone will find out at once (gender) and then for those who didnt make it I might just put a picture of him opening it on facebook.. haha..

And I like the idea of just putting him in a "big brother" shirt and casually posting it on facebook and whoever sees, sees!! I'd like to keep it a secret for a while!

we'll tell family and friends in person, and then i'm sure we'll end up doing a little something on FB.

one of my FB friends changed her status to "[Jane Doe] is craving pickles and ice cream". I thought that was cute.
