First maternity purchase

Me and hubby were out getting lunch so we decided to hop by the mall and I got my first maternity outfit for this pregnancy Smile I found a really cute top at JCPenny for $10 and then some jean shorts at motherhood for $25! I was so excited. lol. Its hard to find things when your plus size and on a budget but I love the outfit. Here is a pic to share

Dont mind the chunky legs lol

Lets see pics of your first maternity purchases....You know you want to share Wink

cute outfit!! I need some shorts so bad--but if it ever becomes summer here, I'll go shopping (its been mid 60's to low 70s...and raining. Not short weather)

I have not purchased any maternity stuff yet---I'm still squishing my gut into my regular clothes at 13 weeks. I'm hoping to make it to 15+ weeks before pulling out mat stuff. If I could get to 16 I would be super happy, but this being #4 i don't think i can make it that long.

Lucky you! We have been in the 90's with heat indexes above 100 here. Even with central air is gets a little warm sometimes. For being #4 and not pulling it out yet your doing great Biggrin

I haven't picked up anything maternity yet. Lane Byrant online has some cute maternity clothes, I ordered some from their web site when I was having DS. motherhood has nice plus size stuff too.

Cute outfit, Love it! I haven't gotten much new this time, I've gotten a few new sweaters for winter since I really didn't have much for cold weather. I do have to get a few outfits for two weddings in August and I really need new sandals and a pair of jeans too, so I'll be going shopping soon!

Cute outfit!

I borrowed and had most of my maternity clothes. I bought a few things on consignment but those were just a pair of jean shorts, comfy sweat pants, and a pretty coral top.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but LB stopped carrying their maternity line a couple years ago due to poor sales. You know, because apparently fat women don't get pregnant.

Luckily, I found 2 pairs of Motherhood Maternity full-panel maternity jeans at a secondhand shop for (you'll hate me) $10 each. Also found an awesome shirt that makes my boobs look ginormous for about $5. Sadly, that was the extent of that store's "plus sized maternity" section. I remember JCP online had some cute inexpensive stuff when I was up the duff with Thing 2, and I know that Torrid actually has a maternity line now, but at around $50 a shirt, it's kinda steep.

I can't see the outfit (work computer) but I'm sure it's adorable. Congratulations on your first purchase.

I have got a few things since being preggo, but no maternity. I currently wear either dresses or some of my loose skirts. If I need pants I do the rubber band around the button. I had some clothes that were loose on me pre-preggo b/c I had lost all that weight.

I'm actually scared/sad that I'm going to have to buy maternity eventually....i'm putting it off as long as possible.

Btw ladies, don't forget that Forever 21 is now carrying maternity clothes. And their sale racks are usually packed w/ things.

I think I'll go there in a few weeks & look at the regular clothes & see what I can fit my blossoming rear into. lol

Ours doesn't sell them, only some locations do Sad I need to look online.

My first purchase was a dress from Motherhood. It was my Mother's Day gift from DH and DS.

I've bought only a few things. A dress from Gap, not maternity but soft, stretchy cotton and it is so pretty! Maternity shorts from Gap, also. I really like how their stuff fits me.

We were at BRU and the one by us carries some Motherhood stuff. Well, they had tank tops for 7.00 on clearance. I took one in every color. I wore the heck out of tank tops when preggo with DS#4 and just threw a cardigan over it in winter.

IDK if I'll buy anymore maternity stuff. I may just buy more dresses I think will fit during that time, that I can wear after. I may have to check out Forever 21 online. I doubt ours will carry it in store.

Oh No!!!
I will give JC Penny a try and Motherhood...not paying Torrid prices for maternity, although good to know if I need something funky.

Great luck finding such good buys BTW!

JC Pennies has good plus sized maternity options. My cousin swore by them when she was pregnant. I'm not a fan of JCP really...the few things I got from there last pregnancy weren't that great...and didn't even last the whole pregnancy. The jeans lost their elasticity in the waistband so they kept falling down and the shirts just didn't fit me right. I hope you guys have better luck than I did.
