Gender Predicting - Salty or Sweet

So the old wives tale is that sweet = girl & salty = boy.

Any 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc time moms find this to be the case?

I believe I craved sweet things w/ my 2 little girls. The reason I ask is I was just eating some Fritos & had to throw them out b/c they were just way to salty & it made me feel horrible.

I have an enormous sweet tooth...and I completely lost it when I was preggo with DS. I almost never wanted sweets, which is crazy for me. With DD, I still craved sweets. This time, it's sort of both, so I don't know what to think! I'm craving mostly salty foods, but still have a taste for sweets. Hmmm.....

With DS#1 I craved chocolate and butter. Not together but I had never eaten either because I just really didn't like them. I started eating chocolate and I started eating butter on potatoes and other veggies...Before I had just eaten them naked. So I guess for him, it was true.

With DS#2 and #3 I had no cravings for either sweet or salty. But I do tend to eat salty foods and LOVE salt in general so who knows with that.

With DS#4 I craved sweet, sugary sweets and ice cold fruit. I'm talking nerds, licorice, laffy taffy. I never eat that kind of candy. I am typically a dark chocolate kind of girl so that was really weird. So it was wrong for him.

Now, I do not have a sweet tooth at all. I will occasionally want a dessert but it's usually chocolate/caramel but that is rare. I am more wanting lots of water and vegetables. But I do still love my salty foods.

With both of my boys I craved salt. I mean plain salt. Never would eat it plain but I still poured it over everything. I also ate a lot of the salty things. This time I'm craving sweets, not a ton, but when I crave something it seems to be something sweeter. I still haven't gotten my fresh pineapple that I've been craving. Sad One weird thing about this pregnancy is the foods that I craved and that soothed my m/s with my boys just makes me sick to my stomach when I try to eat it.

With DD I craved taco's and other spicy things.

With this one I am craving tuna fish which stinks because of having to limit it Sad

So I don't think I really fall into either group. That might be because I really don't have a sweet tooth though. I'm the type of person that normally scrapes the frosting off of my cake before I eat it.

I used to do this until I tasted (and learned to make) real buttercream. I'm talking traditional, italian meringue buttercream. Soooo goood. Never eat the grocery store or canned stuff, it is so sweet...bleck.

Mine was a bit different--my boys I wanted burgers, fries, corn dogs, etc. My dd I wanted FRUIT and veggies. This time, I have been wanting salad--like every day. Yesterday I ate about 6 cups of salad Smile It was 3 big bowls of it and I couldn't get enough--and I ate several slices of watermelon....so we shall see!

Oh, and sweets make me feel sicko! Blah!

Love italian buttercream! I've been using martha stewart's recipe and it is so good! But you can never try to eat the cake/cupcake right out of the fridge--then the frosting is hard and it feels like butter in your mouth.
