Hemmroides... Maybe tmi ... Updated, headed to er, second update

I think I have been dealing with a hemmroide the past few days. The first day i noticed a small bump but it wasn't too bad just annoying and then yesterday yam!! Omg the pain Sad it hurts to sit or walk or move or anything. I had hubby go get me some prep h because it's o my safe meds list and it feels a little better but I can still feel it. It hurts so much that when I walk I kind of limp so my left leg and ankle has been really achy all day from the added extra weight on that side Sad I'm hoping the prep works because if not my ob is going to have to look at it Friday when I go because it hurts way to bad to deal with. I'm gonna have my poor hubby take a pic to make sure thats what it is and not some kind of cyst. Anyone else have to deal with this yet? I've never had one before so I really dong know what else to do about it.

Well I don't think it's a hemerroid, prep h did nothing and the pain is almost unbearable and it's has my leg and groin aching on that side. I called the 24 hr nurse line and they said I need to be seen within the next 4 hours so I'm on my way now. I'll keep u ladies updated.

Sitting in a warm bath with Epsom salts works wonders. Every day if you can until you're all better. Seriously..I had a huge problem with some freakish and super painful hemorrhoids last Fall and this worked even better than the prescription cream the Dr's gave me.

Oh no, what a bummer. Hope they were able to help you at the ER & everything is on its way to getting better. =/

I am a fan of witch hazel. Never really have to use it, but just bought a new bottle for my new pregnancy just in case.

I hope everything is ok. My bro had something similar about 2-3 weeks ago and thought it was a hemi that never got better. Turns out it was a fistula and he had to have surgery. Its good you are going to get it looked at.

KUP.

Thank you ladies. It turns out it was an absess and they had to do a small surgery and lance it to drain it and pack it with gauze. I made sure before doing it that it wouldn't effect baby in any way. The numbing part HURT! They had to stick the needle directly in the absess, I could have screamed! Once it was numb they lanced it and drained it and there was a lot in there. They said they usually prescribe antibiotics but there really is no reason why and with me being pregnant it's better for the baby to just let my body do it's healing. The infection was drained out with all the pus and yucky stuff. I feel A ton better just a little sore. The packing has to stay in until tomorrow morning an then twice a day I have to sit in a warm soapy bath to keep it cleaned. I hope I never have to deal w this ever again!

Owwwwwwwww! You poor thing! Though an abscess, though gross, is way better than a haemorrhoid, I think. At least once you lance it, it's essentially gone. But still, not pleasant!

This is true. The dr said that w all the pressure and yucky stuff that was in it I should feel 50% better just by the draining which is true. It's very manageable, it's more achy that painful today. The tape is probably what's hurting me, it is in a very sensitive spot lol.

Oh, you poor thing!!!! Atleast an excuse to sit in a warm bath isn't bad. I hope you're able to stay comfortable.

Oh man! That stinks!! Hopefully it stays away.

Did they say what caused it?

They said there really is no rhyme or reason for them. It's just the spot gets infected and the body forms an absess to keep the infection contained. The dr said pregnant women are just more susceptible to getting them. Just one of those other joys of pregnancy. Ill ask my OB Friday about trying to prevent it again.

I hope so too! I talked to my aunt about it, we talk about everything when we get on the phone together, and she had one whenever she was pregnant w my cousin except hers was on her labia. So at least I know I'm not the only one in the family that's had it done while pregnant. A couple cousins have had it done not being pregnant as well.

Wow, I can't even imagine that. Through 5 pregnancies over 20 years and I've never heard of it but I'm glad I know now!

My twins had to have surgery on an absess on their tailbone that is some sort of ulcer. I guess it's hereditary and my dad had one, too, in the exact same spot as the boys. Unlike yours, it's a pretty major surgery that doesn't just go away. They took about 8-9 weeks to heal.

Ouch! poor babies. I have heard of that before though. My brother had to have a tumor on his head removed after we were born.
