Hunger in Early Pregnancy??

Has anyone out there experienced an increased hunger early on?? I had been dieting all year on a lower calorie diet, and lost over 60 pounds. Once I found out I was preggo I up'd my calories, etc...but I find my stomach seems to be growling every hour or so! I've just been doing snacky items throughout the day...but I'm surprised that i'm finding myself so hungry so soon...I don't know how far along I am, but I'm guessing I'm only like 5-7 weeks. Anyone else out there feeling ravenous??

Not this time around...I've actually lost weight. But with #4, I was HUNGRY ALL THE TIME! Couldn't get enough early on.

Example: I just opened & ate an entire bag of Quaker True Delights Multigrain Fiber Crisps. lol.

One serving: 110 calories, Downing the entire bag in 20 mins: 330 calories.

Lol, I'm glad it's not just me! I was a little worried going from eating such a small amount and being fine to a growling stomach on increased calories, lol! Wink

I lost 65lbs & I think Jenn did too. I started in October '09 & finished around May '10. I went from 186 to about 125. I am currently at 134 & started pregnancy at 127. lol. My ob is already getting on me. I put on 60lbs w/ both my girls....i think i'm just built to gain when I'm pregnant.

You are not alone in packing off pounds that you worked hard to lose.
I think the positive is that we will have the tools to shed these pounds when we are ready.

I was more hungry at first, now I seem to not have an appetite and nothing sounds good. That will probably change though as time goes on and I'll want everything in sight!

I go from completely nauseated and not wanting to eat anything, to totally ravenous and wanting to eat constantly. Mornings are especially hard! I feel like I am eating all morning long! I'm sure it is just because I am eating only a little at a time because of the MS, but still. I really should weigh myself. Last time I did I had not gained anything yet, but that was probably over two weeks ago.

Sometimes I am hungry (like now, even though I ate a normal amount for supper) and sometimes I am so sick I don't want to eat at all. I think I have only gained 2lbs so far.

Yes! And it's normal for me in early pregnancy. The hardest part of the hunger is making wise choices. Usually I crave 'crap' food, but I should eat healthy fruits/veggies/dairy etc.

I went through a phase where I was constantly hungry, seemed like no matter how much I ate it wasnt enough. Luckily it only lasted a couple weeks and now my appetite is back to normal.

good memory! And yes, I feel like I'm starving 24/7 right now. I'm trying to gain slowly but it's hard when I'm eating all day.

Thanks ladies - I was just a little taken off guard because I only found out I'm preggo last week, and all of a sudden my stomach is growling, lol! Good to know it's normal. I've stocked my office with healthy snack today! Wink
