Hurricane Irene!

Anyone else live on the East Coast? It looks like might avoid a direct hit in Norfolk but we'll be in the worse part of the storm! The Upper Right Quadrant of hurricanes has the most tornadoes and rain! They just forecasted we might get 12 inches of rain this weekend. Fingers crossed this thing decides to go out to sea instead of hitting right below us in NC! Keep me in your thoughts and prayers because I have a SEVERE phobia of tornadoes due to my house getting hit by a tornado 3 years ago. I might just go crazy this weekend!

I'm in Suffolk - not looking forward to this weekend!! Heading out today to get some supplies (groceries basically) before the craziness begins, but I'm hoping it won't be as bad as it's looking right now - good luck!

Hey, at least it will help put out the wild fires.

I was living in Suffolk when the tornado hit my house! Stay safe. It looks like the track has shifted and the eye of the storm is going directly over us Sunday morning as a Category 2 or 3.

I figured that you were in Suffolk when you mentioned the tornado - I was pregnant at the time and on the highway, just before the exit, when the tornado passed over (and probably headed for your neighborhood) - that was scary stuff - you stay safe too!!

Ugh I am in Eastern north carolina so I am super concerned about it. We may head west and stay with my parents if they predict it to be above a cat 1 when it hits land.

I live in Mass and there seems to be a good chance of getting some kind of impact from her, I actually visit weather forums to track the storm and see what meteorologists are saying and so far models are in agreement so I'm getting a little uneasy. But, stay safe and hopefully Irene won't be too nasty for anyone!

I hope she dies out for you guys - maybe she will veer off course and hit us. We are in such a horrible drought that lots of people are hoping for at least a tropical storm soon.

I was 7 - 8 months pg with DS when Hurricane Ike hit - that was so scary for me. We were without power for 12 days - so I can totally understand your fear.

I live on the Jersey Shore so really hoping this thing heads out to sea. We have never been evacuated but there is a good chance that if this storm lands close to us we may have to head west.
