I've been MIA because...

I went to a 3 day long concert - Sister Hazel's Hazelnut Hang at Isle of Palms, SC! I'm back in Cincinnati after the Long Drive From Hell(tm) - my back is so sore and my knee hurts from being cooped up in the car for so long, but the concert was well worth it! It started Friday afternoon, but the first concert was that night at 9:30 - I ended up skipping the opening band and taking a nap on the patio of the bar so I could be rested for that concert, which was AWESOME. Saturday there was a sand castle building contest (I skipped it to sleep in), a barbeque, a private set which I managed to snag an actual seat for, a private happy hour with the band (I ended up giving away my drink tickets), another private set where they covered songs by The Eagles (almost got front row for that), then the regular set started at 9:30 - I got front row this time and stayed for the openers and for the full set! Sunday morning was breakfast with the band, QandA, and an acoustic set (almost front row again), and then down to Charleston to do some shopping. I spent the rest of the night in my hotel room nursing my aching feet, eating pizza and watching SyFy.

I got a billion pics, loads of great merch from the band and from their label, pics with all the guys in the band PLUS their autographs, and I even managed to snag guitar picks from the lead singer and the backup guitarist. Plus I saw some great people again that I met at last year's Hang and made some great new friends! I totally want to come back again next year, but with a 6 month old, I'm not sure if it will be possible...I'd have to bring the whole family down and get passes for myself and Mr. Berry and figure out babysitting in Charleston for the night concerts (I'd just bring the kids to all the other stuff, people bring their kids every year). It would be an incredible vacation, though...

But yeah, just wanted to give you guys a heads-up - I'm fine, the Noob is fine, and I'm just really tired still from all the activity. On the plus side, I didn't have a spot of MS while I was down there - the Noob was very well behaved, LOL! Looking forward to reading about what's been going on here and I'll eventually post a few pics in this thread.

I'm exhausted just reading about your weekend! LOL Kudos to you for being up for all that action and great job on all the time with the band, pics and souvenirs. Glad you are back safe and sound!

I had a great time - too bad I came back home to the house being in a worse state than I left it and the kids running around like absolute heathens. You'd think I was gone 4 months, not 4 days, the way they're acting today. Absolutely NO cooperation or respect for me.

This part, while not unexpected (they do this EVERY DAMN TIME I go out of town for more than one day), is TEH SUCK.
