What are your weekend plans?

Every Friday on my Nov 08 BB we have a weekend thread. Its fun to see what everyone is doing on the weekends, when the boards are usually slower.

So - what are your plans this weekend?

We're breaking the news to my best friend on Saturday. She's referred to as "Auntie" by the kids, and when we celebrated mother's day, DS asked me why we don't have Auntie's day. So, we're having Auntie's day tomorrow and when we give her little gifts from the kids there will be one from baby #3, too.

Sunday we have church, and then we want to do something fun because it's long weekend in Canada and DH gets Monday off. We'll probably go down to the river and have a picnic.

I'm afraid my weeknd isn't all that exciting. I will have my head in the books, finishing my thesis (Due Tuesday) and studying for a certification exam (next thursday, ugh!) ...and when I do decide to take breaks from either of those this weekend, I will be cleaning and packing for our big move back to LA (which begins next Friday). Next week will be exhausting, and I wish I could enjoy a few cold beers on Memorial Day (For us U.S. friends)...but well.......that wont be happening.

Tomorrow we're bringing Jack to get his tuxedo fitted for the wedding he's gonna be in in August, I can't wait to see him in it lol it's gonna be so cute! Sunday I don't think we're doing much of anything, maybe if it happens to be nice out we'll take a walk.

My parents are coming to visit next week, so I'll be prepping the house and yard for their visit. Hopefully finish planting my veggie garden and go buy some bedding plants. We are also at the tail end of seeding (we farm, hence my name) so hopefully finish that this weekend. Other than that, chase my little guy around the yard, get as dirty as we can and try to not think about "what could be" Wink

I think that our weekend is going to be low key, since DH is going in for knee surgery on Tuesday morning. So tonight he is allowed out with his buddies for a beer night, and then that's it!! Taking it easy for the rest of the weekend. Might have some friends over for dinner on Saturday night...other than that, just an easy quiet weekend!

Ours is low key, too.

DS#4 has his baby gym class, DH has an old man group meeting. Otherwise just hanging out, tending the garden and cleaning.

DH and I have a church couples get together tonight and then tomorrow will be a day of relaxation and house cleaning. Sunday is church, then I have work until 5pm, and my MIL is cooking dinner for DHs side of the family.

My bf works for his friends who are event promoters & do advertising for events & businesses. He works about 4 festivals a year around CA & this wend is the first of the season. It's the Doheny Beach Jazz & Blues Festival (Dana Point, CA - south of Laguna Beach). It is good supplemental work & I am going to try to get my foot in the door w/ these people this wend by covering for breaks, or any other reason another worker may want to disappear for a bit.

Perks are: staying at a REALLY nice 2 bedroom room w/ bbq on patio, etc that's right on the beach & w/in walking distance to the festival, spending time w/ bf when he is free (late night), getting some alone time to read, nap, veg out, etc & maybe getting a little side $.

Only complaint, when I planned on going thought margaritas would be flowing too. lol

We had entertained the idea of camping tonight, and dismissed it since we have a busy weekend. Tonight we might go to the elementary school's bbq....maybe....lol....Tomorrow dh has a merit badge clinic for his scouts in the morning (he's scoutmaster for our church troop), ds1 has his schoolmate's birthday party in the afternoon. In between all of these activities we have yard work to accomplish and I'd love to get a little bit of work done on the bunk bed we are building for the boys.

In the evening I am going to a girls night out to Benihana's as a farewell party for a friend of mine who is moving to Cali next week (her dh is already there, took a new job). So dh will take our kids with him to a quadruple Eagle scout court of honor for 4 of his scouts while I go do girl time Smile

Sunday is church and family time Smile And dh just called a little bit ago and said he wanted to invite our best friends over for dinner, so we'll hear back on that soon I'm sure.

I have NO PLANS!!!!! WooHoo! I've been so busy that it's nice to have a weekend with nothing on the calendar.

I sense a big nap in my future.
