Lisa - The carseat cover or blanket sounds like fun! I love making things, but hardly ever made time for crafts so I'm not that skilled at anything yet. I hope you can find a routine or schedule that works better for you and the kids.

Tiffany - I hope you can get that nap in! BH are so annoying. I know they're just being cautious with my ptl history, and it's a good thing they did check to be safe (posted in a different thread) but I agree there are so many times when people are overly cautious about things that turn out to be okay pregnancy wise.

DD seems to always know when I need to take it easy and goes nuts. She has been showing her terrible two's in full force (hitting, laughing at quiet time/time outs and taking forever to settle down). I'm grateful DH will be home around 6:30 tonight (that's pretty early for him) so he can take care of dinner and DD should be all over him. I'm just ready to go to bed!

Lisa, I am still struggling too. I just don't seem to have enough energy now that school has started. Hopefully we'll be able to get into a routine here too...it's just so hard when kids need showers and I'm still combing hair to be on the safe side. I never want to deal w/lice again I wish I were creative enough to make a carseat cover. I got a sewing machine over the summer, but I've never used it yet. Hopefully one of these days I'll give it a whirl!

Mia, sorry that something so innocent has turned into a problem. Hopefully your Little Man is doing well and nothing major happens! Cameron is going through those terrible two's something awful right now. He's definately pushing his boundaries and seeing how far he can get. I'm at my wits end. Hopefully your husband was able to take over and you are able to get some rest!

I definitely don't know how anyone could handle a toddler while pregnant on their own. There were times when I had to hold Luke in timeout just to get my point across. That would be impossible right now.

^^ I do it. Jason works about 55-60 hours a week and his shifts are usually 11am-11 pm. I'm just now getting into a routine with Brandon. For the most part, he's gotten to be very well behaved with me. He acts like a demon on Jason's days off. He was off yesterday and I had to tell him no or stop 100x. When it's just me, he listens so much better.

We're buying a second car today. It's a crappy old 2-door Sunfire with a stick shift for Jason to use when he goes to work, that way I'll have a car during the day. We're getting it from his boss for $300. I'm excited to be able to go to the park and grocery store during the day!

Holly - I hope the lice thing is behind you now and you get some energy back soon. I couldn't imagine working in a school without any energy while pregnant and having your own family to manage.

Tiffany - It's trying but DH is such a huge help. He knows my pregnancy hasn't been easy so he goes above and beyond to help.

Taylor - How exciting about the car! It's great getting a good deal like that. I hope he's taken good care of it so you can get some good milage out of it!

AFM - I saw my midwife this afternoon and she was great as always. I had two "real" contractions last night that were exactly like the ones I had after my water broke with DD so that was nerve wracking but then they were fine. Today I did have one "real" contraction again but I've felt better overall. Yesterday I felt like a wreck and that's how I was before I went into labor with DD so it had me nervous until I got up today. She did a fetal fiber necten (sp?) test to see if I'm at risk for PTL in the next two weeks. She said I'm 50% effaced but closed and he's not engaged so that's good. She'll call me tonight with the results. Fingers crossed! I also found a dress today for the wedding tomorrow. It's not maternity but it's super cute.

I was having contractions every 8 min last night so I went in. They checked my cervix once and sent me home. Tomorrow I am going to try to fit in an appt w my ob. Was scary but they have settled down now. Not sure what to think of it all.

Yikes how scary Tiffany! I hope it was a false alarm. Did they happen to do a fetal fiber necten test today before they checked you? If not, I wonder if they'd do one Monday (can't have them done within 24 hours of anything in your lady parts) just to see? Stay in there little ones!

Yikes Tiffany! Glad things finally settled down. Hopefully you'll be able to get in to see your OB.

Mia, you and me both! I never want to go through that again! It was awful!

So I saw a different midwife today because mine was on-call. Twenty minutes in and I supposedly "overwhelmed" her with all my questions/concerns so she goes and gets my usual midwife to "deal with me". That kinda made me mad. . nothing I said or asked about was out of the ordinary. Ridiculous and just re-inforced WHY I only see my midwife.

I'm being tested for GD next Friday rather than at 28 weeks. I'm up 18 lbs from my last visit- which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Either someone hasn't been weighing me on an accurate scale or they suspect GD (all my extreme exhaustion, constant thirst, chronic headaches). I just want to know WHERE this alleged 18 lbs are. My old jeans fit me just fine, I even need a belt to wear them. I can wear all my old shirts with a long tank under them. I'm measuring 21 weeks fundal height, so it's not in my belly. I have no new stretch marks. Something's off.

My midwife went ahead and prescribed me prescription strength Zantac too. Because I had my gallbladder removed and then ended up with pancreatitis when they did, I had to have an ERCP (some other surgery) to fix it and I forgot they had to remove part of my spchinter (I know I'm spelling that wrong), it's acid reflux, not heartburn.

I also got prescribed Prozac. My therapist won't prescribe bipolar meds unless my OB agrees but my OB won't agree unless my therapist agrees So they just went ahead and gave me an antidepressant that I can stay on the entire time until I deliver and then start something stronger if I have to. I haven't taken Prozac in 8-9 years so I don't remember how it affected me. I really hope it works. Being a SAHM in a town I didn't grow up in is hard on me. I don't have alot of support system outside of Jason and his family so it gets lonely.

Taylor--How exciting to have a 2nd car! And I'm sorry the midwife wasn't helpful, but it's great that you have one you can count on!

Mia--Glad you were able to find a dress for the wedding!

Tiffany--How are you today? Hope all is well! Keep baking babies!

AFM--I have been spending more time with the little girls the past few days and it has been better. We have somewhat of a routine--I just need to be better about letting things go and spending more time with the girls. By the end of the day, I am exhausted! DH and I usually sit down and watch a 45 minute show before bed (Netflix), and I can hardly keep my eyes open...even if its only 8:30. Oh well! Happy weekend everyone!
