Amanda - I finally had my u/s after my L&D scare and my cervical length actually increased. I didn't know that was possible. And this is after a weekend of major walking because I have been feeling better. Good thing since I am on call this weekend and will have 20 patients both days in the hospital.
My weight gain has been pretty impressive this pregnancy. I am already at the same weight I was when I gave birth to my DS. Maybe the indian buffet I had yesterday has something to do with it. I am focused on eating healthier though. Going to switch to skim milk. Try to eat greek yogurt (I normally love that stuff). Adding lots of fruit to my cereal in the morning. But I am hungry all the time. I even wake up hungry multiple times per night. I don't want to be one of those people who gains a 100 lbs in their pregnancy... so I am going to have to slow it down.
So, I've got my pears and my raspberries and they have salads at work... Going to try to avoid salty stuff... And too much carbs.
And of course, DH is making pancakes for breakfast. Why?!?
Taylor - That must have been scary with the bleeding thing! I am sure your pediatrician should have their blood type on file. I don't remember ours telling us what DD's is, but I would think that'd be part of their basic stuff. I'd call the office to check. I know the nurses for our pedi are really helpful with stuff like that.
Lisa - I"m glad you're feeling better! It's hard to have the glucose test lingering and worrying about sweets. Like Holly that's all this baby wants. I was good yesterday before my test (which wasn't too hard as it was in the morning) but I did have some kids cereal for desert last night. I don't normally do deserts but it's hard to resist while pregnant with how hungry I am all the time.
Holly--I really don't think I am any better than you are...I just know I have my glucose test tomorrow, so I'd better be good for at least a few days! And it's really hard for me this time of year anyway, because I love to bake!
Tiffany--Good luck! I hope one of us can stay strong and eat healthy!
Mia--I think I am a dessert-aholic! I could eat and eat and eat it....it's not good...not at all!
Last night I finally got the energy to clean my bedroom closet--I put my regular clothes in a box and pulled out all of my maternity clothes. I was tired of the pile in the middle of the floor...it was ridiculous! Today I started sanding a dresser that I am going to paint for my girls' room. Hopefully I can get it done quickly...while the weather is still somewhat warm because I have another one that needs to be painted as well...but then I can finally cross it off my list of things to do!
I took a belly pic this morning. I will get it posted soon! I just dread photobucket!
Holly, I am 90% positive you are having a girl. I know you won't say- but my money is on girl #3.
My blood tests came back (sorta)! My 1 hour was okay. I passed, but barely. Still waiting on my thyroid because the OB who oversees the midwives has to review it. Don't see how he looked at my other results but not that one. . .pretty sure my thyroid is off and the nurse just can't say. All my blood was taken at the same time, why only read the glucose and hemoglobin but not my thyroid if they all came back together?
Anyways, my iron IS low. I've been on low-dose supplements for a month and my levels are still only at an 11.1 ("normal" is 12 but still not awesome). I asked her to go ahead and get him to prescribe me iron pills instead of taking OTC because they obviously aren't working fast enough. God knows what my level was before I started the OTC pill. I have to add an extra Vit C pill too so my body absorbs it better. My starting level was 12.9 at 7 weeks pregnant so it was on the low end to begin with. I hate chronic anemia. People don't realize how bad it makes you feel and affects your day to day.
I hate how the OB has to look over everything. I can't stand him. He's arrogant and pompous and disregards everything you tell him. There are 7 midwives but they have to have an OB for c-sections. He's the only one who can do them in the office.
Lisa - You are on a roll! Can't wait to see the belly pic.
Taylor - I'm glad the glucose test went well enough! Passing is still passing. I agree I'd think the nurse is just holding back about the thyroid because she has to. I hope that pregnancy safe medications to treat that are abundant and that the iron RX goes through quickly. It's good you knew about the vit. c ahead of time too as I've heard of a lot of people not knowing about needing it for the absorption. I think because most people have heard of anemia, they brush it of as something that "can't be that bad" when they don't have a clue what it does to your body/energy levels. I wish there was another OB in your practice that wasn't such a jerk. There are four OBs in my office (and 3 CNM's) and there's one OB i've never met but who I've heard is an ***. I have my preferred OB but I'd hate to deal with the arrogant one.
I was happy that today DD didn't have many meltdowns, slept til 7 despite getting up in the night and still having a cold and that I've had some energy so I was able to clean a bit and get dinner started early. Of course I had to start craving a new appetizer recipe I found for mini meatball sliders and went ahead and made them about half an hour ago despite the fact that we could eat dinner within half an hour of DH walking in the door (Croc pot buffalo chicken wraps with rice and salad). Going to try medicated Vicks for DD tonight as her congestion only really bothers her at night, she hates pillows for actual sleep and is waking up from it so we're all in zombie mode.
Taylor, glad you glucose test went well. I agree with Mia, passig is passing.
Lisa, it sounds like you have been busy! Hopefully you're able to get both dressers finished.
We did get gender confirmation today, but I'm going to wait to share until Saturday. Our gender reveal party is Saturday and I have sneaky relatives who pick in here, so I don't want them to find out before then
Holly- take a photo (or have someone) when you reveal it to everyone else and then post that picture! I still say girl though.
I generally never have to see this OB. I did with Brandon since I was pre-eclamptic and at risk for a c-section but this time, since most of my biggest issues have resolved themselves, I don't. I just hate that they told me on Monday my results came back but because this OB is doing who-knows-what with them, I don't know what's going on. I mean, really. I'm very suspiscious and almost positive my thyroid came back badly and that nurse wasn't authorized or senior enough to tell me. There is no good reason for the OB to only look at 2 out of 3 bloodwork results that came back at the same time.
Mia, I have awesome luck with the Vicks Vaporizer when the kids are sick. The one with the mentholated liquid you pour into it.
Will do. I'm wanting to get a picture of the three kids biting into their cupcakes and their reactions. Addy wants a boy and Lauryn wants a girl. I keep telling them one of them will be disappointed! I've got everything ready except the cupcakes for Saturday. I'll be happy when the news is out so I can start referring to the baby by its name
I love the picture idea!! I usually am good with guessing what other people are having, but I keep doubting my intuition of boy for you Holly. I don't know why. Either way I'm sure Saturday will be a blast and how fun to be able to use the name! I am all about Team Green but if we ever have a third, it would be so hard to not know in some ways.
DH got home even earlier tonight (5:30 vs the typical 7- which has been really nice. We have some paperwork we need to get done and DD has been having such a good day that I'm thinking bed time will be a cinch. It's nice to have days like this.
Mia--have you ever put the VICKS on the bottom of feet? It works like a charm! Try it if you haven't.
Holly--Can't wait to see what you are having! Good luck with your party! Sounds like so much fun!
Taylor--So glad you passed your test! Hopefully you get your other test results soon.
I am almost finished sanding the 1 dresser we have in the garage. Once it is done and moved inside, then I can have DH move the other out and get it done....hopefully I will have the energy to do them both! Wish me luck tomorrow! I have my glucose test at 10--yuk!
