We don't have anything planned for tonight. We were going to invite some friends over, but their DS has a nasty cold and I just don't feel comfortable exposing DD/DS to that with DS being so little still. We have a meal train coming so that takes care of dinner. I've been craving pizza like crazy lately so if it wasn't for the free meal, we'd likely be doing chinese takeout or pizza. We're going to visit some of my family today for a late lunch which will be nice.
DS is doing great overall, but I'm not totally sure if his jaundice has spread or not so I called our ped as it seems to be farther down his body then it was last week. He has an appointment on Wednesday anyway just for a followup for being born early, but they want him to have some blood work done today just to get an accurate reading. I'm sure he's fine as he's nursing well and his diapers are great, I just feel bad he has to get blood work done. Fingers crossed it's just his natural coloring (he gets red really easily) that's throwing me off.
Tasha - I saw three LCs when I was trying to get the hang of nursing DS. I had a pump also, but that never seemed to work for me either. We kept going for 5 weeks and then I had to leave town to interview. I think it was right about then that things were starting work out... I am not sure how long it takes for the normal person to make it work, but it definitely can take awhile.
Mia - I hate unnecessary blood tests/procedures on itty bitty babies. Our son's heelstick was super traumatic for everyone. Hope it goes smoothly.
Holly - I am sorry about the money stresses. It is so hard to know what to do with a vehicle like that. I think you have to make the decision about what to do with it based on what you will likely spend (which is hard to predict) vs worrying about being hypocrites. If anything you just have to analyze and re-analyze where you are at financially and make decisions based on what is good for your future regardless of how it looks.
I have true fever, chills, significant cough, body aches, runny nose, sore throat. Our lab was out of the flu tests and I just got some tamiflu, but they have the tests there now. I am weighing the pros and cons of being tested. This is not a good time in pregnancy to get flu - i.e. higher maternal mortality, etc. But I also don't want to take any unnecessary meds during pregnancy. Needless to say, I am off work. I can't remember the last time I was sick. And, yes, I got the flu shot this year. Regardless it is some bad virus. I wonder how long I will be sick.
Oh, and my doc's nurse called to schedule induction at 36+6. I told her I really didn't think that was what my doc wanted much as I am tired of being pregnant. So, I am probably looking at a 38 week induction which is fine. I was having a lot of contractions with the coughing but that seems to be a little better right now.
Wow Tiffany I really hope you start to feel better soon I know how bad you can feel being this pregnant and that sick.
I don't have any big plans for the New Year just spend it at home with the family, watch a movie, and go to bed a a good time. Nothing really fun at all. Maybe have a baby soon, my coworker is in labor right now with it was me in a couple of days.
We have no plans for new years. DH and I both are sooo tired, we probably won't even make it til 10pm. LOL. The last 2 nights my hips/back literally feel like they are breaking whenever I lay down. Last night I was almost crying in pain. I want this baby out! I already told DH we are DTD later tonight, and I've spent most of the day lightly bouncing on an excerise ball.
Tiffany- I hope you feel better soon. I can't imagine being this pregnant and being sick on top of it.
Holly- We have to get a second vehicle when I return to work next year. Right now we have a nice SUV that we LOVE (it's a 2010 Ford Escape which we bought new at the time) and we will have that until it dies. DH also has a work truck that is provided for him, which up until now we have used to take DD back and forth to daycare when I am working. Since I work 12 hour shifts (7-7) and the daycare closes at 6, DH always has to pick up DD. The truck was fine for one car seats (it has the key thing to turn off the airbag) but it's only a 2 seater, so when the new baby comes, there won't be any room for another carseat. So we have to get a second car so DH can pick up the kids. Our debate is the same as yours, do we buy new and pay more, but not have to worry about repairs, or do we buy used for cheaper, but might have to put work into it?! Sorry it has you so worried, finance stuff can be so stressful!
Mia- Hope John's jandice goes away for you. Glad you have an appt. this week to get it checked out! How are you feeling? Is he a good sleeper so far? My DD was such a horrible sleeper, I'm hoping this baby makes up for it!
We went and looked at a really nice vehicle today, and I really liked it We decided to talk numbers just to see where we are at, and unfortunately with all of the things that are bad with my car, it makes us too upside down on it to make it worth trading in. They could make it work if we wanted a sky high car payment, but that defeats everything we're working towards and I'm not okay with it. So, we will just cross our fingers for now and slowly work on saving money and fixing each thing that is wrong with it. It just stinks that we've put in nearly 1/2 of what we've paid for it so far, and we're looking at another $500-$1000 to fix everything lse. Boo!
Other than that, we're watching Enchanted while waiting for pizzas to cook. We're going to watch ParaNorman too, so I'm looking forward to that. The kids are too!
Amanda, sorry that you're in so much pain. I hope your LO comes soon and your body can readjust itself
Mia, sorry about the jaundice. That's good that you've got an appointment lined up. Hopefully the bloodwork will give you some answers, although like you, I'd hate for LO to have to have blood drawn at such a young age.
