Mia, I'm no help but I'm interested to see what others say. We're getting married by a JP on Oct 11 and I have yet to find something decent to wear. I just want a knee-length wrap dress but I don't really want to wear black on my wedding day!
These are the shoes I'm talking about-
Womens - Airwalk - Women's Shiloh Fur Scuff - Payless Shoes
Tiffany - You're right, they don't need much as newborns. I think people just feel like if they have all the stuff, they'll be prepared for baby. That's great and everything, but I don't think anything can truly prepare you for it. :) We haven't bought much, and DD's old carseat is well within the expiration timeframe so we're set as far as "absolute necessities".
Taylor - I love those shoes! I'm defiantly going to grab some this weekend if I have time. I haven't braved trying on my fake uggs from ON but I don't know how long they'll fit. Other then that and some sandal like dress shoes, all I have is flip flops. All my other boots were tight last year ugh. Wedding dress shopping can be so hard when you're pregnant! We decided to get married before DD was born because wedding prep was stressing me out so bad. I ended up finding a knee length dress in the juniors section at JC Penny. I wished I'd looked a little harder only because I was cold from the thin fabric. Still, I'm sure there are knee length wrap dresses out there that aren't black you could wear.
AFM - I got some answers for my insurance payments/bills on the weekly H17 shots. It's still going to take a little while for some of them to come out, but because I preauth'd I was able to get 30% off which makes a difference. They also said they should come out one at a time because that's how I authorized them but we'll see. Hoping DD will nap today. It's the first day we're not running around (where she'd eventually fall asleep in the car and then not sleep any more at home) since the weekend. My body misses the breaks. Not as many contractions lately but I'm still not pushing it just to be safe.
I was thinking the same thong Taylor! We have a pack play with a bassanet setting and a changing table attachment and a little hamper/dresser type thing. We also have a pack of diapers and breast pump and little storage containers and a ton of newborn clothes that some people I've met have given us. But we are still missing a lot. But we got lucky because my MIL is gunna throw us a baby shower.

And these are awesome too-

I don't know where you live so I don't know how cold it gets. I'm in middle TN and while our last winter wasn't bad at all, the one before it was snow every other freakin week. I was pregnant with Brandon during the same time as this one (he was born late February but I was due in March). I'll be bigger this time since I'm due mid January and my 2 week normal OB appts will start in 6-8 weeks so I'll have to leave my house more when it's freezing. I live near mountains, alot of them. And I'm from Houston so anything around 50-60 degrees makes me want a jacket.
I've wanted furry mocs for a while! I just hate paying $40+ for shoes if I don't have to.
We live in New England so it gets pretty cold up here. I think everyone had a mild winter last year. I'm hoping we get snow just so it doesn't mess up the natural cycles like it has this past year. There have been a lot more tic / insect issues because nothing died last year.
Taylor--I want those mocs now! :) Good luck finding a dress. I haven't even gone looking for maternity clothes this time around as it is my last and I don't want to spend the money on them just to wear them for a few months...I'm sure I will go and find something new, though...I don't even know where to tell you to look--I think Motherhood has the most dressy maternity clothes, though.
I went through all of my girl's clothes that are boxed up in our storage room today...that was a chore! We have lots of clothes, but lots of girls. I tried to weed some of the stuff out to give some away, but ended up keeping most of it anyway. I have a tote stuffed full of 0-6 month clothes, so I think we are set there...and we pretty well have everything else from the other kids, too. I need to make a blanket for this LO though and find a take-home outfit.
I also found some clothes that I have been searching for for Dallie and Shaylee. I was so happy to find them, but I think some might be too small...oh well!
DS came home from school early today...his tummy was not feeling well. I guess there were 12 kids home sick in his class today! YIKES! I hope he feels better tomorrow! I guess the flu is already going around. Bleh!
Lisa that's awesome you found the clothes you were looking for! I've been going through DD's stuff to give away (some to keep that i just can't part with yet). I hope your LOs will still fit into some of the stuff you found. I hope DS is over his stomach bug soon and that it's not the flu! How crazy to think that's starting up.
Taylor - Another dress hunting option could be nicer consignment shops that sell maternity? A lot of my local ones have awesome pieces that are like or brand new.
DS is feeling better today, but I kept him home anyway...I'd rather keep him home for the weekend than send him back to the germs while his immune system is down. Hopefully we can stay well for a while after this!
I am wishing for rain right now! The air looks terrible! There is so much smoke and I am ready for some fresh air again...CLEAN fresh air!
Oh, and DH is working a split shift today--1/2 day shift plus his night shift tonight. I thought he didn't have to leave until 12:30-1, but he had to leave at 11:30. I was so upset (almost to tears) because I was working so hard to get him some dinner ready. I must be emotional today. :/
Whenever I have to get materity clothes, I shop Motherhood. I need a few more tops, so I am going to look online at Old Navy. Hopefully I can find a few things without spending a lot of money.
As for what baby needs...we have a crib, a tote of gender neutral clothes for NB-3 months, a swing, some receiving blankets, and a box of diapers. I need a pack of bottles and a carseat, and we should be okay to start with.
. . .yeah I've got nothing, lol. 2 of the 5-pk onesies from Carter's and a bunch of blue bottles from Brandon that in all honesty, probably need to be replaced. Seriously, that's all I've got. My pregnancy with Brandon was SO awful, I swore I'd never have another and sold everything.
Does anyone know what they're predicting this winter to be like? Is it going to be like last year or normal? I can get by if I just buy a few sweatshirts and layering camis if it's like last year. . but if it's not, I'm screwed. It's nothing like New England here but for someone who grew up in southeast Texas, TN gets FREEZING.
