Mia--I'm glad you were able to get in to see your midwife and that all is well. KUP on your blood tests. How nice to have found a babysitter. I hope it makes you feel more at ease with everyone. I understand having a hard time leaving DD with someone other than family, but it will all work out.
AFM, I finally got baby girl's stuff all put away this morning. I pulled out some baby boy clothes that I'd like to wash (just in case), but it appears that DS ruined a LOT of clothes from spitting up so much. I will work some magic and see what I can do, but at least I will have something...just in case.
I am taking my 3 oldest kids to see White Christmas tonight. I'm super excited--it's my all-time favorite Christmas show! And tomorrow we will be getting our tree...I just have to figure out where to put it!
Oh, I had a check-up yesterday. I only gained 1/2 pound in 2 weeks--I was excited about that. I measured 35 cm, heartbeat was good. I also found out the hospital is renovating the maternity wing...AGAIN! This is the 3rd time in 11 years...probably less, but I can't remember when they started the first time--maybe 6 years ago. I think it's ridiculous that they need to do it AGAIN. So after my next appointment, I will go and pre-register and find out where I need to go when it comes time for delivery.
I am REALLY close to being done with my Christmas shopping now. I had the kids shop for each other online the other night, so all of their stuff is on the way. I am waiting on a few items I ordered and I just have a few more things to pick up--gift cards and books...and something else for DH. Can't wait to be done!
How is everyone doing? It's slow around here... How is Christmas shopping coming along?
I have not had a chance to think lately, so I've not been around much. I lurk every day, but I just haven't had time to respond.
It seems like several of our Snow Dragons are trying to make an early entrance. At this rate, I'll definately be the last to deliver. I had my 30 week appointment last week and things went well. I am up 28 lbs, bp was good, and her hb was 128 bpm. I was alarmed it was low, but doctor assured me that it was normal. We also got verification that our c/s and tubal is scheduled for January 21 at 7:00 AM. I cannot believe it. So ready! I put the bedding on her bed the other day and put the carseat base in, but I've never gone early, so I'm just assuming I've got 53 days left :D
I am all done Christmas shopping. I finished up on Black Friday, and it feels great to be done! Our tree is up, all presents are wrapped, and I feel like I can just relax and enjoy the holiday season. We also have a birthday party this weekend. Lauryn turns 5 today...so we had to get all of the supplies ready for that too. It's been hectic, but I like keeping busy! It makes time go faster! Hope everyone is doing well!
I am so jealous of all you people who have your Christmas shopping done! I have about half of mine done, but I'm having problems coming up with ideas for gifts. I have DD, DH and 2 of my neices bought, but my sister and parents are sooo hard to shop for. My sister and I are polar opposites and my parents are the kind of people that if they want or need something, they just go get it rather then wait. 3 years in a row I bought my mother a gift and she went out and bought the same thing, so I had to return the gifts and start from scratch! I told her this year she is not allowed to go shopping between now and Christmas!
If one more person asks me if I am having twins or says "your a lot bigger this time around" I think I am going to hit them! My own mother commented on my weight 6 times in one day. I am tall, 5'9 and have always been slim. With DD I gained 30 pounds in total... I have already gained 32 so far this time around. So yes, I am bigger then last time. But with DD I also worked up until 35 weeks, and being a nurse you do a lot of walking and being on your feet, so I was pretty active. This time with the bedrest and the restrcited activity, and being put off work at 25 weeks, I'm not very active, so of course I am going to gain more weight! UGH. Some people are just so rude!
Holly - That's amazing about having everything done for Christmas and being so ready for little Reagan to make her appearance too. I'm sure you'll have a blast celebrating Lauryn's birthday. 5 is such a fun age! How perfect that you can kick back and enjoy the holiday season.
Amanda - I too have difficult people to shop for. It's hard when you have people that will buy themselves what they want before anyone else has a chance to get it for them as a gift. I would go nuts with the weight/size comments too. I've had TONS of people tell me I look so small this pregnancy which really irks me as I do have IUGR risks and DD was so tiny. I know people mean well but it is frustrating. I am sure you look fantastic but it's hard to feel good about how you look with all the comments and bed rest on top of it.
Anyone else have fun plans for the weekend? If DH isn't working tomorrow, I want to take DD to one of the local kids arcades or something of that nature just to have a special day for her before things get crazier with prepping for baby and the holidays.
HA! I am up 45 pounds which is supposed to be the max healthy amount to gain with twins... And I am so hungry all the freakin time!! Yesterday I wanted a cupcake so badly. But seriously, I know I am eating a lot. People try to reassure me, telling me I will run out of room - but the babies are growing out and not up. And last time I had no difficulty eating, even the last week of my pregnancy. I am relieved my boys are already measuring 4+ pounds at 32 weeks. Of course, I hate to think how big they would be if I make it to 38.
The good news is that BH, while they are still occurring, are not making me as nervous because with each passing day I know the boys will do ok. And my cervical measurements are not changing. In fact, I am hoping doc will stop checking them soon.
I have a ton of Christmas and birthday shopping to do... but most of that will be on the Internet. I might pick up some Christmas lights for the yard. I really don't have to get to work until this afternoon - doc appt at 11:45. So, things aren't too crazy today. And the week flew by. I am so glad I can still work.
Holly--How awesome to have all of your shopping done! That is the best feeling! I bet Lauryn had a great birthday!
Amanda--You look great! I just saw your latest belly shot, and I think you look awesome! I hate the comments too, as I get them all the time...people really should keep their mouths shut sometimes. And I'm sorry about having difficult people to shop for. We have some of those as well, but I've decided that they are just getting gift cards this year. :)
Mia--I hope your dh got a day off to spend a fun day with you!
neoncandle--I'm glad things are looking good with the twins and you are healthy enough to still be able to work. Good luck shopping--I have really liked the online shopping this year--I've gotten most of our gifts that way.
AFM, we got our Christmas tree put up and decorated last night. It was fun. I pulled out a few decorations, but left the outside ones put away...I don't have the energy to decorate outside this year (and DH refuses to do it), so my wreaths and Santa will just have to do. I got the boy clothes washed and put away, and I found my girl blankets and have them in the dryer right now. I am just about ready for baby--I need to buy a small box of nursing pads, more diapers and wipes, and probably some nursing bras, but I might just make the ones I have work until after baby comes so I know for sure what size I need. As for Christmas, I need to order some books for DD2, and then the kids are done!!! I still have to finish shopping for DH, but that has to wait for next payday, and we have our parents left. So happy to be so close to being done. I am ready to relax! :)
Got DS a bounce house for his birthday. I am not sure that we are going to have a real party with the way this pregnancy is going. With the money we saved from that, we will be getting him something to play with inside. He was intrigued by the trampoline at Sam's (just like I was as a child). I think a bounce house will do nicely. Hopefully our twins will get use out of it too... assuming it holds up.
His birthday is 4 days before Christmas and he gets the shaft a lot with combined Christmas/birthday presents. I am glad we could spoil him a little. Plus the kids from the neighborhood are gonna love it too.
It is so hard to keep up on this thread! Hope everyone is doing well! Give me an update if you can!
AFM I'm doing well getting more and more uncomfortable but that's as it should be lol. I have major heartburn all day long too. Baby girl moves like CRAZY all the time. My last dr appt was last weds and everything looks perfect next appt will be at 36 weeks and dr will do GBS swab (oh joy!) and then I will go to weekly apptmts. I am feeling really calm about the fact that I will have a BABY in my arms in less than 6 weeks (I went a week overdue with DD, I aM assuming the worst again for this one, and if I go into labor earlier I won't be disappointed) I really hope I'm not in denial ha ha that's how calm I am about it. My dh just left this morning for 2 weeks so hopefully nothing happens while he is gone (on military orders) but I think everything will be fine
Oh and we STILL don't have a name UGH! I am getting so frustrated!
Lesli we still don't have names yet either!! Isn't it sooo frustrating??? My baby is going to be born nameless.
