Congratulations and WWTW baby girl!! Sounds like she is doing wonderfully and just needs some time to grow and develop. My DS1 was born at 33 wks 4 days due to PROM; he was 4 lbs 12 oz at birth although he was a long 18.5". She is a great size! Keep up the pumping every 2 to 3 hrs around the clock and I'm sure you'll be producing more than she needs in no time. It's nice to have a freezer supply for later on. I'm glad they are promoting kangaroo care too. I hope her time in the NICU passes quickly. I found it to be a blessing that my DS was so healthy and just needed to grow and learn how to eat but it's still hard with the restrictions on when you can hold them and do their care and just not having them home with you. It can still make a mama really sad at times, especially with all the hormones to deal with too. The NICU is a tough road no matter the circumstances. Grow baby grow and get home soon!
She posted on FB that she got to do kangaroo care with her and change her diaper

Yup, I've been doing kangaroo care twice a day with her, 1-1 1/2 hour sessions. She LOVES them. She just passes out and gets into that really good, brain developing REM sleep. I think I'll only be able to do once a day for a while now, though, because I'm dependent on other people for rides for about a week.
Once I can drive myself, I can go back to twice a day because the hospital has a little daycare center that Sophia happens to LOVE. lol I dropped her off yesterday so my Mom could come see Amelia with me, all nervous because I thought she'd start freaking out. When I said "Bye, baby", she just looks at me and goes back to playing. My little girl is getting big.
Amelia is off her C-PAP and they're seeing if she can regulate her own temperature! They tested it last night, if she did well they'll be able to move her to a crib! She's still eating through a tube in her nose, but they feed her a little through the syringe too. My breastmilk supply seems to be doing really well!! Yesterday was day 4 and I pumped 1 1/4oz through the day!! This morning I pumped 3/4 oz JUST in my morning pumping! I'm super excited about this, as I was BARELY producing colostrum on day 4 with Sophia.
I'm going to try to make it to an infant massage class I signed up for at NICU this Monday. We'll see if my pain is low enough that I can go without narcotic pain meds long enough to drive myself there and back for it.
I'm getting discharged today! I have mixed feelings, because I don't want to leave my baby.. It's hard to leave the hospital without your LO. But on the other hand, I haven't stepped outside this hospital in nearly a month and I'll be able to go home to my other baby, who I haven't been able to care for in a month.
