BLC!!! **link posted for sign up 2-18 first day!!**

Hi ladies! Here is the info on the biggest loser challenge coming up I was talking about. (Sorry it took me sooo long to come back and post it. Philip has been one cranky boy and getting on the desktop comp has been a challenge.) They haven't posted the new challenge with dates yet, but it should be starting up soon. Anyone interested in joining our team? (The Healthy Honeys)

Rules

All check-ins must be reported by a team leader in alphabetical order according to username. Where there is no leader, or no leader is available, any team member may post the points. With the increasing number of participants for these challenges, it is important for it to run as smoothly as possible. The check-ins will need to be in by 9pm EST/6pm PST on Tuesdays.

If an individual fails to check in two consecutive times during the challenge, that person will be removed by admin. Teams will be disqualified if they miss checking in any two weeks, not necessarily consecutively. If you have members who have failed to check in with you, put a 0 next to their name and get the points posted.

Exercise Points
1 points per 10 minutes of exercise. This must be an actual form of purposeful exercise - walking, running, biking, swimming, weight training, cardio machines, etc. This does not include any chores or activities, only straight exercise. Our goal is to reward your for purposefully fitting exercise into your schedule. General activity, such as cleaning the house, gardening or swimming with your children, is 1 point per 20 minutes of activity. Please limit activity to cleaning, activity and chores that require a little muscle work and/or endurance. For example, I would not include washing dishes. Use your best judgement. There is a limit of 12 points per day for exercise activity.

Water Points
1 point per cup (8 oz/236 ml) of water. 10 points max...1/2 can be calorie free, caffeine free drinks ie. tea not sweetened, diet sierra mist etc.

Support Points
1 point for each day you check in with your team. This does not mean typing "checking in." This means that you say something about your day, or something to encourage or support your fellow teammate(s). This should include at least 2 personal messages to a fellow teammate each day.

Food Points
5 points for every day you eat within your plan. Whether you're following an actual plan (like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, SlimFast, etc.) or simply following basic healthy eating guidelines, you will earn for sticking to it. If you go slightly off plan you will get 3 points. If you totally blow your day 0 points.

Breakfast point
You can add a point each day for eating breakfast. Studies have shown that eating breakfast helps with weight loss so this will be beneficial to everyone!

Sleep Point
Competitors will earn one point for each night that they sleep 7 hours or more. If you are feeding babies during the night, please count the amount of total sleep you get in any one night.

Mini-challenges: Mini-challenges are again part of this challenge. Most mini-challenges will take place over the course of a week. A new thread will be posted for each individual mini-challenge with instructions. Most mini-challenges will be worth 10 points per individual. You will need to tally your own mini-challenge points each week. If every member of a team completes the mini challenge and posts on the relevant thread, the team will get a huge 10 EXTRA POINTS onto their team average at the end of the week!

I am interested but it's so cold where I am that I am not sure where to exercise. I am getting a treadmill at some point from my grandma but not sure when I am getting it. Can I still participate?

Yes Holly! Join in! Smile You can count heavy duty housework for exercise, like say vacuuming the whole house could be a point. Or carrying your baby around while stair climbing. (I'd get creative.) With DS2 I didn't have much free time to exercise so I worked on drinking my water and watching my diet. I ended up losing 10lbs!
Patricia, it starts in one or two weeks. When they post the sign up link I'll be sure to post it here. Smile

**ETA: Crap! I just re-read the rules and see that chores don't count for exercise now. Whoops! Oh well, looks like I'll have to do a lot of baby-stair-climbing myself. Wink

I have a Moby wrap. I'll dig that out and do some stair climbing. I am hoping it warms up a bit too so that I can start going for walks when DH gets home.

I don't have the energy to splurge Sad

I have no appetite this week, I'm contracting all the time (sometimes 5 minutes sometimes an hour between, plus a few days of regular progressive contractions) and now I'm sick. I did have a craving for brownies yesterday but didn't manage to make any.

Awww Crystal. Sad Sorry to hear you are sick AND contracting now. You poor mama! Sad How much have you gained with this pregnancy?

Mia, you can totally join in now! Yay! I love having a big team. Smile

Holly, I'm glad I wasn't alone. Haha. I ate all my vday candy in two days! Blush Two bags of jelly bellies, my ultimate favorite. Once I start eating them I just can't stop!!!

Do any of you use 'my fitness pal' app? A few of us started using it on a previous challenge and it's really great.

That was smart to eat your candy. I didn't get mine gone so its tempting me. I will just have to give it to the kids. I have not heard of that app. What's it do?

Crystal, sorry you are sick. Feel better soon!

I attempted exercise this morning. I am SO out of shape!!

Holly MyFitnessPal is a calorie tracker, you can log on online or get an app for your phone. I love it it has a huge database and there's also the option of entering your own recipes if you don't find what you need. It's great and we can add each other as 'friends' for extra support Smile

Marie I'm only up about 5lbs from prepregnancy, HOWEVER I gained like 60lbs in the year and a half we were TTCing so I have a long way to go to get to my goal.

Still, 5lbs is great Crystal! You could have gone overboard, but you didn't, and that's great! And I bet when you leave the hospital you will lose a LOT more than 5lbs, meaning you've lost some.

Holly, I love myfitnesspal! I use it on my iPod. It's great b/c you can figure out calories for 'bad' things you've eaten, like take out or fast food, and then make up your calories elsewhere. Or plan your day of eating from the start and not have to worry. It helped me lose 10lbs before getting preggo. And of course, you awesome ladies help out too. Biggrin

Hiya ladies! I posted over on our BLC thread. I thought everyone had posted but now I think I jumped the gun. I did SO good today. Tomorrow will be harder because I will be stressing out about something and when I do this, I over eat.

Good for you Kim! I didn't do so great on day one but I did stay well within my cals, probably why I didn't gain much this pregnancy. I'm just not eating that much over all. Today I will do better!

OB this morning, really hoping I don't end up with a resident. I really like this doc today so I want to see her...

I did okay with everything yesterday except my diet. I had all four kids home alone w/me yesterday for the first time, and my little guy has definitely got the Terrible Two's down to a science. I had a meltdown after he had his 7th meltdown and ate a bunch of Valentine candy. Bad!! Hoping for a much better day today!

Yeah, so I discovered that the Cheesecake Factory supplies our local small-town middle of nowhere Barnes and Noble with yummy treats. I did well by only eating half of a cupcake, but it was probably still 400 calories. Also, I made a healthy lunch and turned into a starving fiend in the afternoon. I am trying to eat healthy, but I am breastfeeding and we have twins.

Today there is a 20 minute zumba class at a free dance expo downtown. I might do it because I think I can survive 20 minutes. It will be my first cardio in a year for medical reasons. I am a little worried because I have some funny knee pain in both my knees - from the twins pregnancy. Obviously my body did not like being 212 pounds.

Hubby did let me sleep most of the night and handled the feedings... so I get points for that, but only because my hubby suffered.

Tiffany, ummmm Cheesecake you say? I am drooling over here. I've never been to one. Not being able to eat dairy products is seriously killing me! I love anything cheese related so much. That stinks about your knees. I have really really bad knees and can't do any exercising that is squat related so I understand in that dept. Have you ever tried Pilates? It's really easy on the knees.

Holly, wow! That's some supermom power going on right there. Don't feel bad for eating candy at all. I had my three yesterday and in the morning I would have downed some chocolate if I could have. My oldest has ADHD and was up until 130am!!! Needless to say the morning was crazy. How is Cameron adjusting his new sister?

Good luck at the OB Crystal!

Kim, good job eating healthy yesterday. I was waiting to post over there to make sure Mia wasn't joining us. I hope she does.... Miaaaaaaa where are yooooooou. LOL

AFM, yesterday I ate like a champ too. But seriously, it's not that tricky when you can't enjoy junk. Heh heh. I did make strawberry cupcakes for my son's bday today. Then at 4am this morning, I ate one. Whoops. Ya do crazy things at 4am..... They aren't that many calories honestly. But I'm sure after I make the chocolate frosting they'll be all kinds of naughty......
BTW, the first challenge is up and it's an easy one. Just goals.
Should we wait one more day for Mia? Or just head over to chat on the BL thread? What do you guys think?

OB went ok, had a resident Sad but she is nice enough. went from 2+ to 'a good 3' and long to at least 50 % effaced and very soft cervix. Some progress is better than none I suppose.

Holly and Marie - We don't have any Valentines candy in the house but we still have some Christmas chocolate left. What I am really craving though is ice cream cake from DQ and we don't have a Dairy Queen anywhere close (at least a 2 hour round trip). Plus ice cream gives me tummy aches so I'm better off not anyway lol

Tiffany - Mmmm Cheesecake factory? I've heard good things but never had anything from there before. I love cheesecake too...

Marie - do 4am calories REALLY count? I'm inclined to say no lol it's not breakfast, it's not even a midnight snack - it's survival mode!

I'm trying to plan my day out food wise so I do better than my choices yesterday, breakfast was good now I need to figure out lunch and some snacks... frig I'm hungry already!

Crystal- I am sorry you didn't get to see the Dr you wanted. Sad

Holly- hugs, being home with all the kids can be rough. I end up having meltdowns after my son T has his meltdowns.

Tiffany- cheesecake???? I am drooling. Let us know how Zumba goes.

Marie- I want a cupcake now. I think we can say I am hungry.

I woke up sick. I have sore throat, runny and stuffy nose, etc. I am miserable.

Just a note ladies - I msged the Mods of BLC and they will move the posts between our tracking pages and Mia's tomorrow! We'll just continue to post here until then Smile

I think I figured out why I only gained 6 lbs (as of my appointment this morning), since I've been tracking my food the last few days I've noticed I'm not coming close to my calorie goal to even maintain my weight. I'm measuring at 39.5/40w today (she was in a weird position making it hard to really measure lol) and have been big since the beginning so they are not worried about baby's growth, ultrasound 3 weeks ago put her at almost 7lbs at that point so she isn't suffering!

Thanks for msging them Crystal. You are on track and I am lacking today. I was soooo tired from being up last night I had to nap with the boys today. So now I'll probably have insomnia around 130am again. Lol! What's everyone having for dinner tonight?

we had spaghetti and homemade sauce - it was so good! I must say I make the best spaghetti sauce ever lol.

I need a dessert or something though, I am thinking of trying these brownies I found on pinterest

but first a cup of tea and a bath, this cold sucks so bad I napped 2 hours this afternoon and 30/40 minutes this morning, I'm drained!

Meeting the ILs at Applebee's. They had our 4 year old for the evening. I think they have some healthy options. Will check them out.

Tiffany, Applebee's has great choices with low calories. Even a delicious steak. I can't wait to hear what you have. *mouth watering*

Crystal, I'll have to check the brownies out. I should post the Lemon Crinkle Cookie recipe here for you. Those were the best cookies ever! For Seth's b day today, I made dairy free deluxe strawberry cupcakes with luscious chocolate frosting. I could have just eaten the bowl of frosting. It was so creamy and tasted like milk chocolate! I'm starting to think baking dairy free is even tastier than normal baking.
Mia posted her tracking page. Should we head over there now? Or wait till they fix it?

I ate baked beans and cupcakes for dinner. Is that a bomb food wise? Lol.

Yum! Last night we just ate whatever because DH got home even later then usual (7:30 instead of 6:30-7) and will be all week. I had a Greek salad and a ham sandwich. Planning on prepping the rest of our meals at nap time to avoid last night's scenario again. Tonight we are having corn chowder and salad.

I managed to try out the new yoga DVD I bought this morning. Of the two programs, I tried the energy one and it was good! It was 45 minutes. John was napping and Emma did it with me/ played. It wasn't easy but it was nice and I defiantly feel more clear headed. Yoga has always done that for me. With how much John nurses I have a hard time feeling like I eat enough so I'm trying to make food choices that are healthy and filling and drinking as much water as I can. Because he was zonked from his 2 month shots yesterday I actually got some decent sleep last night

Ok, I think we're good to chat on our other page now. Mia, they still don't have your post on the first page, but if they just delete the posts in the middle, you should be good to go. I *think* that's what they did last time.
