Dress Opinions Please!

So, it finally dawned on me that the big wedding I've been looking forward to is on FRIDAY and that I haven't had time to go dress shopping. I was hoping to do it this past weekend, but we were busy so I'll have to go tomorrow/Thursday with DD (fun!). I am hoping to find something more dressy/evening like and I've seen dresses on Motherhood's site so I might trek the hour to go there.

I do have this dress that my mum bought me when I was pregnant with DD and never got around to wearing. It's comfortable and knee length but do you think it's too spring/summery/day wedding-ish for an evening wedding? It's not black tie or anything, but I know it's going to be a similar style and I want to look the part.

Don't mind the mess of my bathroom, or that I took this before getting ready for the day, with no bra. Eh.

I think that one is very pretty. If you want something more evening then maybe look around but if you don't find anything I think that one is great.

I think it looks nice. I thought you could even make it more fall-like with a yellow or orange wrap to go with the fall-like colors in the dress.

That dress is very nice but real summer-ish . Maybe look around for warmer colors to wear .

I don't think it'd hurt to look around for something more fall-ish, but if you can't find anything or don't make it out then this dress is great!

Thanks all. Because of all the BH and temporary rest thing, shopping is out the window until the day off. We have to drive a few hours to the wedding, but we can go shopping before we drop off DD with my in laws so the plan is going to be to shop around and bring this dress as a back up just incase. I don't even care if the dress is maternity so long as it looks good. Biggrin

:lurk: i know probably not *all* Motherhood stores are the same, but I went to one about a week ago... It was VERY small and full of jeans and t-shirts and 3/4 length sleeve shirts. Which is great, because that's what I wear... but I don't remember seeing a whole lot of dresses, if any at all.

I think the dress you've got on is very pretty and nice looking. But for an evening wedding, it might be a tad too summer-ish. Hope you find something!

I worry about this at motherhood, so I'm going to see if we can hit one of the larger Old Navy's (that might still have Maternity in store) or other dress stores along the way and see how it goes. Smile Thanks for the input!

:lurk: you could always check out a thrift store also, maternity is worn for such a short time that a lot of what I have found there looks nearly new, if you are adverse to wearing other peoples clothes that is, I would send DH on the hunt.

Thanks Mary! We do have some really amazing consignment stores around here that sell Maternity, and I am a bit of a yankee when it comes to deals so I have no problems with wearing something that's barely been used and can be washed. Biggrin

ETA: I did find an awesome dress at Dress Barn today. I normally wouldn't pay full price ($60) but I love it and it should still fit when I'm not pregnant. Now lets hope my dress shoes still fit!
