I swore I would NEVER, EVER drive a minivan as well. But, life changes you. I am already discussing what we will trade it in for when we don't need it anymore. But this is our life right now. We will probably need it forever, feeding three growing boys and taking them to all their sports and stuff.
Not a mini van !!!!![]()
I swore never to have one too!!
We have an Avalanche truck and love it. We have lots of room in it plus we have the box to put luggage, sports equipment, stroller, etc.
We have a tunnel cover on the box so all things stay dry.
A Honda is a good choice, it would be my choice too I think if I'd go for a minivan (which I won't) hahahah!
Just teasing Tiffany!! =)
I always said I'd never get a minivan as I just didn't ever see myself driving one, but I would like a Sennia some day. The convenience and safety seems well worth it.
We haven't got an estimate yet, but my mechanic said yesterday we're looking at 800-1,000 to fix my suv. I know car issues can be worth but we were not expecting that at all. The only big purchases we have planned are a new co-sleeper mattress (though that's just under $100) and a new monitor when we can. We have a Summer Infant video monitor that we love but the sound isn't always reliable so we'd like to at least get a new monitor for it if not a whole new one. I also need to get some more CDs for DS because DD is far from PT'd but we have enough to get us through a couple months at least.
Vicky - We will see what you say when/if you ever have three munchkins and all their crap to fit in the car.I am not sure what the gas mileage is on an Avalanche, but that factored in to our decision as well. We will probably exchange this down the road for an SUV... when the kids are big enough to get themselves into their boosters and buckle their own seats.
Mia - THAT IS TERRIBLE! I hate when these types of expenses come up. As a single income household, I am sure this is the last thing you guys need. This is the first time we have lived in the house big enough to maybe need an infant monitor. It is something we might get after they are born if we find they need it.

We bought a Honda Odyssey last week too! The engine went out in our Mazda Protege that my husband drove to work, and while it didn't really make "sense" to buy a minivan so we have 2 gas guzzlers, it was going to be difficult getting 3 carseats in the back of my Envoy (I tried!) and I felt like I'd be hurting my back trying to get the baby out of the middle seat. We bought a 2007 Odyssey that looks brand new! The dealer is putting brand new tires on it and fixing the DVD system in it today, hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow. Ours seats 8 too!

Amber - 2007 is almost new. We probably should have looked more at our used options but I don't regret it anyhow. We will definitely enjoy it I think. I am already imagining the fun we will have on road trips when the kids are big enough.
