So hows everyone doing, adjusting? Heidi is a great baby! I feel really lucky. She doesnt cry for nothing, its either hungry, tired or dirty diaper. She sleeps throught the night. Yesterday she slept from 9 to 6: 9 hour!! Such a difference with my first who had collic and was crying All the time !!!!
Hope everyone is lucky as me!
I just got back to work so I am a lot more tired. she is pretty good but after being with dad all day she only wants me. Dad takes the first feeding at night about 11 or 12 then she gets up at 3 or 4am for a feeding then I get up at 6 to get ready for work and feed her. so all in all pretty good here just a baby.
Things here are pretty good. John is really mellow though he's been nursing all.the.time the last week or so thanks to his growth spurt. He also is just getting over being sick (for a freaking month!!) finally so I'm sure that's where part of his enthusiasm is coming from.
The only hard thing is, around 5-5:30 pm he always gets fussy. I wouldn't call it colic though I haven't dealt with that before. He just wants to go to nurse and go to sleep by 6-6:30 but often wakes up and then goes back down around 7:30-8. I would like his bed time to be around 6:45-7:00 but it's hard to juggle that sometimes with both kids before DH is home. While he's well under the limits for our co sleeper, we are going to get his crib mattress and move him to that soon to see if it helps. He squirms a lot once he's woken up in the night and often wedges himself toward the side of the co-sleeper.
Despite the more frequent waking lately and his grumpy time at night, he is a really easy going baby. Much more laid back than DD. They balance each other well.
Philip is a very happy baby too. Thank The Lord, bc DS2 was a grouchy nightmare! Lol. Philip has real issues with dairy and a lot of congestion so sleeping flat on his back is a no no. He's still cosleeping bc of it. I hope i can get him to his crib soon.
Both of our babies have colds which makes things difficult.
Hayden is fussy - not to the point of colic - but it can get pretty loud at our house. I have thought about switching to a very expensive formula, taking dairy out of my diet, but it is hard to do. And he is not really as colicky as our first. Lately Caleb has been fussy too, but that is just because he has a cold.
I just went back to work and my job is somewhat stressful. I really need to unwind at the end of the night, but that is when they are both a bit fussy before going to bed. I pump at night, but hubby hands the feedings which is huge. Anyway, I am very tired these days. But they are both growing.
Oh and as I posted in a separate post on its own - Hayden still is not socially smiling. It is worrying me, but their colds worry me too. Seems non-stop at our house.
As far as baby goes we are doing awesome. He is a great baby. Always happy, only cries if he is hungry or tired. He sleeps most nights from about 8pm until 4 or 5am, feeds and goes back to sleep until about 7:30. We even had a few 12 hour nights (8pm-8am)!!!! During the day, he naps really well, we just lay him down in the crib or playpen and he goes to sleep on his own. We are so lucky, he is a wonderful baby. We are having some issues with DD, being jealous and having a lot of anxiety, she is not sleeping well, so I am pretty tired most days. Luckily she goes to daycare 3 days a week, so I get a bit of a break on those days.
We are doing pretty good here. Reagan is starting to me more alert during the day and loves to be on the playmat for a while. She only cries when she is hungry or overstimulated and tired. We just swaddle her up and she is good. She is starting to sleep better at night too. She is now doing 4-6 hr stretches at night. The only bad thing is that she is still in our bed. Hoping to work on the crib issue soon! Overall a good baby!
