Lurking

I've been lurking and not posting as much. I want to keep up with everyone, but I've been trying to focus on other things in life. Feeling torn. Shouldn't have done a chart search on Fertility Friend for pregnant charts for women who are breastfeeding and have high FSH. There were only three. Sad

Who else is lurking and not really posting? I know you're out there! Wink

I'm lurking here. We are JLIH, but I have a hotel date scheduled on or around ovulation time, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I probably won't post much since I'm not charting yet or anything.

I've been lurking. Basically dropped off of the face of the earth. Smile I've been struggling with this TTC journey lately. I've been going to the doctor so I'm hoping to get some answers. I'm too bummed out to be involved right now.

Yeah I've been lurking for awhile, I didn't post much since I couldn't keep up with everyone (like you said Mrs. F!) But now that the new 2013 boards are up, I'm trying to keep up w/ everyone! Actually for several months I didn't even log-on b/c we stopped TTC & by reading I would have become too obsessed & upset, LOL!!

Glad to see I'm not alone! Haven't seen Elizabeth or Caitlyn in a while. Nice to know you're still around.

Amanda, you seem to be quieter lately, too.

Marie and Mrs. Furtado...I completely understand where you're coming from. It's hard to keep up at times.

Eliann, I wish I could JLIH. Seems much less stressful! Good luck!

And good luck to all the lurkers who don't want to pop in for whatever reason. Smile

I'm still here too. I'm getting frustrated as well since the dr says everything is fine for us and I'm just being impatient but it's really hard not to be. I just had an HSG so I'm hoping this month or next month it will happen for us Smile

Beth I'm around too, just got back on after having no internet for a few weeks thanks to the move. I'm not posing as much now though, not sure where I should be, waiting for something to happen I guess. I actually O'd this month (so it seems) but it's all a bit wonky now. FF initially said I O'd on CD 12 and my chart was actually looking but 20 DPO all BFN's, then the girls noticed a second thermal shift so i discarded 2 temps and FF moved my O to CD 24... now just waiting it all out... not expecting much with out assistance but recently found out it's still going to be a year before I get to see anyone Sad

Are you charting? We haven't used any protection post-partum (in years, actually, other than bcps before IVF cycles). My first three cycles had short LPs (8 or 9 days?), but have been pretty normal since then. I ovulate a little later than I used to, but nothing out of the ordinary (cd15 or 16 instead of cd 13 or 14), and my LP isn't quite as long (12 or 13 days instead of 14). If bf'ing is having other effects that aren't detected by charting, I have no idea. From what I have read, once your cycles are back to normal bf'ing doesn't hinder getting pregnant. I'm only on my 6th "normal" cycle which is, well, normal for an old lady. Good luck making Jax a sibling! Smile

Gina, Crystal, and Gemma...Hi! Glad to see you're still around (even if it's just lurking!). I wish there was more action on the 0-24 month TTC board. I think the board hopping gets harder every time I have to hop.

I lurk sometimes. I feel so far removed from the possibility of me getting pregnant at this point, it makes no sense to board hop. But it is still interesting to follow people's stories.

I have been charting for about 6 months- Last month I didnt ovulate for some reason. I have had my cycle back though since my DS was about 8 months old. Good to know its not supposed to affect getting pregnant!

Hi, Beth. Smile

I'm here--lurking occasionally but not much and not posting much. I just can't get into it anymore when I am pretty sure it will never happen. I'm having a really rough time with it all

:bigarmhug: I think I should have titled this thread as "feeling frustrated and hopeless"...

I get excited around ovulation and at the end of the TWW, but even that excitement is tempered. I struggled to get pg in my early 30's and I know my egg quantity and quality are both low. Now I'm a few months away from being 39. Sure, my cycles are "normal," but they looked normal for the 35 months we were TTC #1, too. Every day I spend with my DS I am reminded of how lucky I am to have him. I'm not sure when I'll stop tracking my cycles though on the off chance that we'll hit the jackpot.

:wavehello: I'm lurking somewhat as well. I really don't think our chances were that great this month, so I don't want to get too attached to a board and group of ladies. Call me crazy!

There has been a small group that I've been tracking along with since, gulp, last August. We keep "losing" people along the way and picking up new people. I keep saying this...I wish the 0-24 month board was more active.

I'll check in as a lurker as well. I'm still here. I'm not posting lately but not due to any major depression or anything--there's just nothing to say. I just move through cycles anymore. I don't tend to analyze my chart, or "symptoms" or even really get my hopes up because....well, so far there has never been a reason to. I will say, at least our IUI this month was well timed.

I was supposed to try 3 IUI's before moving on to IVF, but if this one fails I plan to make my appt. with the RE to talk IVF. For some reason, I just really feel that's how this is going to happen for us. Which is expensive, and not the way I would want to do it, but I have come to accept that fact. I'm now at the point where I would just like to get there. For those of you that have experience with IVF--I know they start you on BCP's first--if I start AF on April 27 and make an appt. after that to discuss IVF with the RE does that mean I need to wait until AF arrives in late May (a month later) to start my IVF cycle? I assume so, but just trying to get an idea of the timeline....

I think your HSG should still be good (seems like that had to be done within a year of IVF). There was also bloodwork for STDs that has to be done on both you and your DH. Some of the bloodwork wouldn't have been done yet. You might want to call to ask them when the next IVF class is happening, too. You might be able to go ahead and get that out of the way prior to your appt. if they know that's your plan. It seems like they only do one class per month and it's required prior to starting a cycle. We did two IUI cycles with Femara prior to IVF and I was glad that we had done that. I needed some time to mentally prepare for IVF. Ironically, my two IVF cycles failed, but a last ditch injectable IUI cycle was successful. So, you never know what might work! I hope you are surprised with a pregnancy this month. I've been wondering how you are doing. Hope you can get outside for a run today. It's beautiful out there! Wink

Thanks Beth! Yeah, I had the HSG in August or September if I recall. I'll definitely call them about the IVF class--it's on my list of to-do's for tomorrow.

I was hoping to run after work, but now it's all cloudy again here. Sad But, if it's still warm, I'm getting out. Have you ever run Dam to Dam? I'm running it again this year so trying to get my miles in when I can.

Erin, you had your HSG in August 2011. It's in your siggie. Wink

I haven't run Dam to Dam yet. I've "only" been in Iowa for 5 years and have always taught summer courses. Those intense short courses tend to interfere with summer races and Ragbrai (something else on my list of things to do). There's no way I could run it this year because I haven't been running much lately. I've been indoors doing spin classes and tabatas mainly (hate the treadmill). Need to get outside and run though!

Hi Erin. If your RE works like mine, you can probably start BCP with the start of your cycle, then they can do all the other pre-IVF stuff. My hubby had to do the STD testing, and I had to have a hysteroscopy. I had one with my laparoscopy but since it had been a year, the RE wanted to do another to make sure there were no problems in the uterus or fluid in the tubes. You probably wouldn't even have to do that if your lap was recently. That held us up a bit, and so did getting the medications, but that was because it went through insurance.

It seemed to me like once I decided to do IVF, it took forever to get started! But it really wasn't that long. Smile

I hope you are pleasantly surprised by the result of this month, but if you do end up doing IVF, I hope you can get started quickly!

My RE never had me on bcps. I hear that some REs use bcps for downregulation and some just to time your cycle to their schedule. If you really want to start the process or at least get some info schedule your consultation now. That way they can do all of your tests next cycle and you can start IVF the cycle after. Like pp said they will want to check you and your husband (hormones, stds, SA, maybe HSG, SIS)

I'm lurking have been for a while. I kinda have lost hope for a few months. I think it's coming back but not in full. AF showed up today what a surprise not really. Now I have to have a HSG done. I just like to read about everyone else. I found out that I have PCOS in March and was put on metformin. I went off bcp in 04/09 but was jlih. It did in 9/10 but ended in a mc. We have been trying every since. Just wanted to say "hi and good luck to you all"

Hi Beth no RE yet. DH really doesn't want to do a lot but has finally told me that as long as we have the money then we will try. Yes the hsg should be this cycle was going to do it last cycle but my doc went on vacation and DH doesn't want any of the other doctors in his office to do it. My insurance will pay $5000 for fertility treatment in a life time but I have no idea what anything costs.

Hi Michelle I remember you too. I'm starting to feel a little better with getting some answers. I didn't really feel like I belonged in the 0-24 months board bc we have been trying for over 2 yrs but had a mc so it hasn't been 2 yrs since then. My cycle did shorten this time by a lot. The shortest I've had is 28 days but that is few are far between it's usually 30+ days. You are so sweet to say I'm an awesome lady you are too. I'm ok if it doesn't happen but really do want at least one.

Thanks all for the information. We're making an appointment with the RE for Thursday, should start AF on Friday--so hopefully if he does want me on BCP we can get that underway and do whatever tests need to be done from that point. On the upside, I've been tested out the wazoo, for like, everything under the sun, so I might be good. And hubby has had SA done, so hopefully he doesn't need to much beyond that. I swear sometimes I start to feel like a lab rat. But I'm feeling....positive. I'm ready to get this show on the road.

Carin--I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm glad to see you around though! Smile It's hard. Trust me. I've been hanging around these boards for 15 months now. It doesn't really get easier....but I do get more used to it. I know you're not really looking for advice--but, it might be worth going to an RE just to get a few basic tests done. Nothing major--and insurance usually covers those things (blood tests, even an HSG) because that's not considered "fertility treatment." For what it's worth. (For example: on my last IUI my insurance covered the ultrasound and blood tests, but not the insemination--because the insemination is considered a fertility treatment, the rest was not).

Erin Thank you for the info. I'm waiting to hear back from my doctors office to schedule a HSG. My ob is going to do one. I've had the blood tests done and an ultrasound and DH has a SA done but don't know all the results. I know my testosterone is slightly elevated. We go for a consult after the HSG. My DH is old school he didn't even want to go for the SA but he did. I don't know if he would do an IUI or IVF only time will tell. He is 37 so he doesn't want to get to much older before we have a baby. I'm worried about how much IUI and IVF costs. I know insurance will cover most everything else. I'm glad you get to go go in shortly. Hope all goes good for you.

Erin, I'm stalking you. I would be stalking Tasha, too, if she had a FF chart... Wink

Carin, IVF expenses add up pretty fast (seems like a full cycle without meds is typically ~$6500-8500). IUI is quite a bit cheaper. I can't remember how much those cost, but it seemed more like $300 or so without meds?

My IUI is with Clomid and including everything is running about $350-400. My understanding is a single cycle IVF (all told) is around $11K. We're going to be doing the cost sharing program (assuming we qualify) which will run $18K but will cover three fresh cycles and as many FET as we can accomplish in one year and if no pregnancy results we will get 70% back.

Beth & Erin- Thanks for the info but I know DH WILL NOT go for IVF, maybe IUI. I go for my HSG on Friday so we'll take it a day at a time.

Thanks, Tasha. I need charts to stalk. Wink

Erin, I hope you qualify for the cost sharing program. We would have gone that route had we qualified (my issue is high FSH/DOR). Unfortunately, the first IVF cycle can often be more of a trial cycle to see how someone responds. We were mentally prepared to do two cycles. Knowing you have three fresh cycles and, hopefully, some FET cycles, if necessary, would be nice!

Carin, I hope your HSG goes well. Sometimes just having your tubes "flushed out" leads to a BFP.
