I need a nap! I walked from my house to the library for story hour (pushing a stroller with my 40 lb toddler and a 6 mo old baby) only to find out story hour was over for the summer.....so I let dd play at the park for a minute went to the bank and post office then walked back home....about 12 long blocks total! I cant wait until I'm done babysitting so I CAN take a nap! DD takes a long nap in the afternoon tg

Whew, that's a long walk, I would be ready for a nap too!

I'm hoping my hubby gets home in time for me to go over to the hospital to get my pregnancy confirmed. They usually just do urine tests, but after two losses in a row I'm hoping I can get some betas. I put in a call to my midwife also, to tentatively get on her schedule for mid-January.

I am so ready for a nap too! I love walking but exercise has been killing my energy lately instead of boosting it. DH got home tonight and we leave for our mini vacation tomorrow we're so excited! DD has been a mess with her two year molars bothering her but is worlds better today so I'm hoping she'll be distracted enough by the plane tomorrow to do well. She usually does fine especially with both of us around.

I went to the hospital and requested my betas. They drew one this afternoon and I'll get the results tomorrow. I won't get the results of the Friday draw until Monday which will feel like a long wait, but at least things are started.

Ugh, I'm sorry about your cold! My allergies are bothering me today and it's making me miserable.

I talked to my midwife today, reserved a spot on her schedule for mid-January. I saw her for my last three pregnancies, it was good to talk to her again. Smile

Sonja - Those numbers are great! Hope they keep doubling well for you. Biggrin

Mariah - I'm SO excited to see your pictures! Congrats on the wedding! Biggrin

I hope everyone else is doing well and keeping busy Biggrin

AFM - Nausea / ms is insane. I had it bad with DD too and threw up constantly but so far it's just been nausea. I am starving constantly, but nothing sounds good to eat so I have to force it. The vacation was good until we realized DD was sick. She'd been a little off all week but was teething and just had low grade fevers. Then a little diarrhea turned into constant and by Friday / Sat she had temps ranging 101-103 so we took her to the ER (ended up xfering to a children's hospital after 2 hrs to make sure it was viral as she stilll was lethargic and just wanted to sleep after 400 ccs of fluids). She had an IV bloodwork and was monitored. Thankfully it's just a drawn out stomach flu. They were great wit her at both places, but it was so hard to see her so uncomfortable. We're about to head to her follow up with her pediatrician. She's been worlds better since getting home yesterday. My poor mom felt so bad that Em was home sick. Still, we had a good time overall.

Lesli - How fun to go camping so early in the season! DH and I used to camp all.the.time before DD and even started taking her when she was a few months old (in a cabin as it was October). We just haven't gone tenting with her as she's never been a good sleeper. TOo bad about the ms and getting sick, but at least it's one of those reassuring symptoms.

Mariah - That's awesome you don't have m/s yet! I hope you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't get it. FX about your having a boy. Biggrin

Em did get a good report from her pediatrician she's gained well since her 18 month well visit and seems to be recovering properly. I'm pretty much letting her rule the roost today because she's still a bit down but she's eating and definatly hydrated thankfully!

Mia we have a small trailer with a heater so it makes it a bit easier to camp that way Smile I'm glad your dd is doing better

Oh man ms is so bad in the mornings!! I was thisclose to puking this morning....and my boobs are sooooo sore and huge (for me) I am SO done babysitting but still have a couple of weeks left Sad
oh and yesterday I was reading a book that mentioned brownies....well guess what I couldn't stop thinking about then finally made....

Oh I hear you on the ms Lesli! Because she was sick/is still recovering, DD has not wanted to do anything without me snuggling her. it's super sweet but it was almost a war trying to make lunch. The ms hits me hardest when I haven't eaten in a while. I hope these next couple of weeks of babysitting go by quickly for you! Brownies do sound good . . .

I am sorry you all are feeling sick. I am not as far along... Mia, I was like that with my last pregnancy. If I didn't eat frequently enough, I would feel sick. In the morning, I would eat ginger snap cookies before getting out of bead. That helped a lot. So far, I do not really feel sick.

I hear you on the ms thing. When I was pg with dd, my ms didn't kick in til I was 8 weeks, but then didn't go away until I was about 20 weeks! I took diclectin because I was vomiting every day and lost 10 pounds. This time, ms was my first symptom, but so far just comes in waves and I haven't actually thown-up. I just get really hot and feel faint. It helps to eat. I eat a LOT! haha.

The board hasn't been very active the last few days, where are all the new BFP?! My week has been busy. Working 12 hour shifts all week and I'm sooooo tired! I went to my family doc to get my referal to the OB. She sent me for blood work to check my betas because she seems to think I either got my dates mixed up or I am having multipules! She seemed to think 9 DPO was too early to get a + test?! And the fact that I started with nausea at just 6 DPO and have already gained 6 pounds, and she said my uterus seemed bigger then for just 5 weeks! YIKES!

Lesli - That's awesome that you get to spend some quality time with family and friends to take your mind off DH being busy. DH has been out of town on work again this week so we're trying to keep busy too.

Amanda - Wow I can't believe those shifts! Funny your family doc is skeptical about the 9DPO positive. The MWs I saw said "wow" but didn't question it. Maybe it's because they see it more often in a ob/mw office? Maybe they'll do a dating u/s if the OB agrees that you seem further along?? KUP on that. Biggrin

I've been floored the last few days with exhaustion. I could sleep 10 hours straight and still want to crawl back in bed. There's so much to do around the house but by the time DD goes down for a nap I have to relax or I feel awful by the evening. Have to figure out dinner tonight but may do something easy like a flatbread "pizza" with artichoke hearts, olives, low fat mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. It's supposed to be gorgeous out today so I may bring DD to the park or see if our BFFs want to do a play date as they kids always wear each other out. Biggrin

Seriously where areall the new bfp's!

I am ready for bed by about 6 pm I get so tired! But its the ms that is killing me!! All.Day.Long.Nausea
the other night dh and I were watching Tv and I was starving! (About 2 hours after I ate dinner) so I made a snack and was still starving....after I ate 3 different snacks I told dh "I'm starving, I feel like I'm gonna puke, and NOTHING sounds good!" And that's pretty much how I feel all day
I guess 4 years made me forget just how bad ms was lol

This!! It's awful. Every time I eat, I try to mentally prepare myself that this food could make me vomit.

Dying to see some new BFPs around here! Biggrin

Oh forgot to tell you guys I had a job interview yesterday at our local post office....the job is for 1 day a week guaranteed then on call but they said the most I would work is about 16 hours/week...not really sure how I feel about it now that I'm pregnant guess I will figure that out next week when I found out if I got it...not terribly confident with my interview but oh well

Yesterday DD said to me "mommy...the baby is hurting my belly!" She thinks she has a baby in her belly too...she always tells me that she has a girl and I have a boy lol silly girl

So my Dr. office called today. Said that my numbers for the beta blood draw they did last week were "very high" for how far along I am! So she was going to wait until I saw the OB to let her decide what to do, but now she wants to send me for an early unltrasound! I go june 15.

I assume they're thinking twins?!?! A friend from DD's BB just had twins. Either way, it's always reassuring to know what's going on. Biggrin

I thought the same thing, but I have noticed it on a lot of birth boards, not just this one. When I had DS in April 07, the board had a lot more people on it. I too am so excited to be here!

I have checked out some other sites, but I still prefer this one. I guess I rather it be small and personal than full of lots (too many) people. I guess it is just not as popular of a site as it was in 2008.

I've tried other sites too and I've never cared for them much. Never thought of why, but I think you have a point. They were just overwhelming because of ALL the people and posts...

We'll see. We might just be in a slow period.

Yeah, some of those other sites are so big, it would be hard to really get to know anyone. I have went on other websites when I have a question and am searching for answers, but I have never actively participated in another birth board.

I, too, like the idea of having it a bit smaller. I think we'll get to know each other much better Smile When I joined with DD2, there were a lot of women on that birth board, and it was hard to keep up. My August 2010 board went completely inactive after our babies arrived. I hope we'll all still try to stay in touch, although it gets harder to be online w/a newborn.

Any big plans today?? Yesterday was DD1's birthday, so we're having two parties today: one with friends from school and one with family for dinner. We're doing a carnival, and I'm so done!! I hope the kids have fun, but I'm ready for it to be over with Smile

We are taking DS to a birthday party today. It is at an indoor bounce house place, so it should be a lot of fun. The carnival birthday party theme sounds cute. Setting up for birthdays can be so tiring. I went way overboard on DS's first birthday but have kept it simple every year since. Next year he will be in school, so it will probably be a bigger birthday between those kids and the kids on his baseball team.
