Okay, now that I'm officially a SAHM again, I need to start cooking more, lol. I like doing it but I'm still learning and my crockpot gets alot of attention.
Share some recipes with me please!
Pork Chops and Veggies
4 pork chops
1/2 bag of carrots
1/2 an onion, chopped
3-4 potatoes, peeled and cut
2 cans of Cream of Celery
2 cans of water
Put pork chops on microwave safe plate and heat for 3 min on one side. Flip over and heat for an additional 1 min 30 sec.
Place pork chops in baking dish. Place vegetables around the meat. Season with salt and pepper.
In a seperate bowl, mix 2 cans of soup and 2 cans of water. Whisk until it blends together. Pour over meat mixture. Cook for 1 hour 30 min at 350 degrees.
I usually cover with aluminum foil (shiny side down) to help aide with the cooking. The meat comes out tender and is delicious!
I've got more but the kids are arguing. I'll add more later!
Holly that sounds really good! I have pork chops in my freezer. I make my own breading so I was just gonna shake them in it but that sounds better.
I don't really like dumplings but Jason does so I might try the other one too.
I'm making a chicken, cheese, rice, and broccoli casserole tomorrow because I'm craving broccoli- which I HATE.
Patricia- I just made that recipe last night!! Sooo good, but very rich! I think I'll use less cream of chicken soup next time. If you like rich food, it'll probably be great as is!
I tried this recipe not too long ago. It was AMAZING.
I'll call it Baked Penne with Tons O Cheese.
Box of Penne
1 1/2 jars marinara sauce
1 container Risotto
1 tub mixed italian cheeses
Preheat oven to 400. You cook the pasta. Brown the beef, drain, then saute the onion with the beef until the onion is cooked. Mix the marinara sauce, risotto, 1/2 the cheese mix, pasta, and beef. Pour into casserole dish. Cover with the rest of the cheese and bake for 20 minutes.
It's my new favorite.
Okay I'm going to share one of mine Cindy since you like that recipe so much!
I use my crockpot and let it simmer on high or low, depending on my time limit. Usually takes about 2-3 hours on high.
1 can diced tomatoes with basil
1 can tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 tbsp sugar ( I use Splenda )
To taste- Italian seasoning, basil, minced garlic, onion powder
And I usually add sauteed onions/peppers or half a small package of thawed chopped spinach
Let it simmer. If you double/triple the recipe, simply put what you don't use in a jar/container and freeze for up to 3 months and thaw as needed.
Homemade marinara! It's amazing actually, I'll make large batches and my friend can sell it at the local farmer's market for $5 a jar.
Here are a couple that we like to do. They're not the healthiest but they're good for easy comfort food dishes.
Creamy Chicken Croc Pot Recipe - This is a variation of what we do. I usually use cream of potato soup and want to try broccoli sometime. We usually serve it with white rice or pasta and salad.
Farmhouse Barbecue Muffins My mom found this recipe when we were kids and we loved it so I started making it again when we got married. The BBQ flavor is very sweet and we just sprinkle the cheese but kids usually devour it at parties and gatherings.
Jamie Oliver 6 Hour Croc Pot Pork Roast We've made this a couple of times, wicked good.
I love threads like this. I'll be sure to add some more soon. I'll have to look up the page I found on something like a weeks worth of croc pot meals you prep and throw in the freezer so when baby comes, you just take it out put it in the croc pot and turn it on.
