I always wanted 2 when I was growing up. Two girls.
It's still pretty much the same, but my husband and I are open to having a third. Now that I have my little girl, I think I'd like having a boy. Though I'd be totally happy with another girl. I think my husband is going to want to have a third if our second is a girl, though, so he can try for the boy.
When I was growing up (and even up until I was about 24), I always said I was never going to have kids! Then DH and I planned on having two. But a few more came along anyway.

Growing up I always liked the idea of four (two of each) and DH agrees that if we won the lottery and didn't have any financial worries, we'd be all for it.
We are still thinking three but if this one is a boy I'm not sure if DH will want to go for a third. He's the youngest of three and both his older brothers have three (one is due in June). We'll see how it goes when we have two! I just have a hard time thinking of this as my last pregnancy despite being so early on.
