What did you want to be when you grew up? And are you doing it?
My youngest memories of a dream job were a veterinarian or something to do with wildlife conservation. When I got older, I wanted to write. I am doing that now but just not focused in the area I'd prefer. I worked with and volunteered at a local shelter and loved it.
I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was growing up.
Nope!! Definitely not doing it, though I do still love animals.
I have a BS in Education of Language Arts, so I should be teaching high school or middle school English with that. When I graduated college, I actually moved back home to Oregon and just taught Kindergarten instead of messing with Oregon State Certification.
Right now I stay at home with my daughter and watch a little boy on the side three days a week. When I go back to teaching after having my babies, I think I'll go back to teaching Kindergarten. I really loved it.
I wanted to be a OB/GYN. I will take my sciences over the summer and take my MCATs when my little one turns a year old
I wanted to be a teacher. However, I stay home with DS and work from home. He starts school this year, and I will be involved with that. Once I am done having children, I may teach.
I wanted to be either a teacher or a nurse....not doing either....however right now I am a SAHM and couldn't love it more!!!
I wanted to be an animal trainer at Sea World, lol. I am not swimming with Dolphins. I teach preschool right now, was teaching third grade for a while.
Liz, I thought I wanted to work with Shamu once in high school. I asked a trainer about doing that and was told that you needed a degree in psychology, which was weird to me. I always thought it would be marine biology.
i wanted to be a vet. but now im a house wife. Which is better than anything i have ever decided to do. i love it.
I wanted to be an astronaut when I was little, that definitely didn't happen! I became a nuclear engineer instead which I loved, then I took a hiatus before I became pregnant with DS1. (DH is in the Navy and my career wasn't very portable.) Now I stay home with the little ones, homeschooling the older two.
Later, when the kids are older, I'm considering becoming a homebirth midwife.
