Since she was born, we've been trying to occassionally put Reagan in her crib. However, it wouldn't last. During naptime she would make it about 45 minutes and then start screaming. At night, it was pointless. She couldn't keep her paci in long enough to fall asleep, so DH and I had her in our bed. She was swaddled and propped on the Boppy, and she was a happy girl. Last weekend, I woke up in the middle of the night and she had pushed herself 1/2 way down the bed and rotated so that her head was toward the foot of the bed.
I decided enough of that, so we put her in her crib. The first night she went down on her own and slept until 2:30. We fed her, put her back, and she fell back asleep. We've put her in there every night for a week, and she's been an angel! I guess she's got the crib thing down, but it does make me sad that she isn't right by me either. Just one more way she's growing too fast!
It's bittersweet, isn't it? I could never have my babies in the bed....my husband is such a sound sleeper and I'm always worried he'd smoosh them. But, I kept my little guy in the cradle a lot longer than my others, just because he was so quiet and I just liked him close. But then he started being noisier and scooting all over the little cradle. Into the crib he went, and he started sleeping longer, and I had some time to myself in the evening and in the morning too, which is really nice.
But these little milestones are just a bit tougher knowing this is the last baby, aren't they?
