Update on me!
Its been a bit since I have had time to pop in even from mobile. We have been moving into our new place which has been a slow process since hub has been putting in lots of hours with the holidays and gunning for a promotion at work! Plus I cant life the heavy stuff, so our closets are full of boxes and Im trying to get to them as I can but with 2 crazy munchkins and being oh so pregnant I have just been too tired lol.
Pregnancy wise I am okay. My blood pressure is creeping up a bit so we adjusted my meds to keep it down in hopes of avoiding pre-e. My poor hips and pelvis feel like they are breaking half the time and my ribs and lower back are achy. My ribs have been taking some ninja kicks for a while now but baby is getting cramped quickly thanks to my short torso lol I passed my modified GD test with flying colors, which I knew I would since I had been testing at home. My liver test was o nly slightly elevated so they really dont know why Im so itchy and having the odd BMs.
Baby is doing well, growing nicely. However s/he almost failed an NST the other day bc of lack of movement and HR drops with my BH. I think I have another ultrasound to check on babys kidneys because they were dilated at the last U/S.
Still NO NAMES!! Im going out of my mind. We dont even have a list.
I think the kids know change is coming, they are both incredibly clingy and snugly at night and nap time (the rest of the time Im banned from playing with them LOL they've been loving having a nice huge room to play in and want nothing to do with me unless they are tired or hungry! ): sad momma!!) My son Rowan (10months) has become very possessive over me at night, waking up 3-4x and crying and not calming down for anyone but me.
I hope everyone is well! Please feel free to leave an update below as I love hearing and reading about you all! (:
Ashley, I'm glad you got moved, but I cannot imagine doing that right now! It makes me tired just thinking about it! lol Good luck getting settled. I hope things continue to look good with baby. And good luck with names--we had the hardest time with names this time...could hardly agree on anything. Good luck!
Thanks for updating us Ashley!! How exciting and chaotic about the move. A promotion at work sounds great for DH. I hope it doesn't take up too much extra time if he has to put in more hours with it.
Have you thought of going to a chiropractor for your hip/pelvic pain? I haven't done it personally in pregnancy, but I've heard it works wonders for a lot of people. If you think it's in part because of how baby's sitting, I'd try looking at stuff on the spinning babies website too. They have some amazing resources on there.
How scary about baby failing the NST. I've never had that happen, though I was going to ask my mw about it tomorrow as this LO was freaking me out with how much his heart rate was varying at my NST on Thursday. Are they doing anything extra besides the u/s? I hope baby's kidneys are okay and you can get some answers soon. When you mention the liver test, do you mean a liver function test or bile salts too? If they haven't done bile salts I'd definatly ask for it with your symptoms. If it's the bile salts that are slightly elevated, I hope they've given a RX for Urso as it will help with the itching and has protective qualities for the baby. I hate to beat a dead horse on the ICP thing it just is the first thing that comes to mind with the symptoms.
Names can be SO hard. I wasn't totally thrilled with our boy name at first but we'd been decided on it since we were pregnant with DD so I was fine with keeping it. Now I"m really happy we have it as it's grown on me a ton and it is SO hard to pick names.
Things with me are okay. I found out my ICP levels went up again which doesn't surprise me as I've been feeling awful but it does make me nervous just knowing the risks. Looking forward to my BPP tomorrow and seeing my favorite MW for my NST/prenatal visit afterwards. She always makes me feel good about things no matter how intense the situation is.
Lisa-The move is exhausting!! Its been 2 weeks and things still aren't done and its driving me up the wall.
Mia- The bile test was fine according to them. So we're all at a loss. I have actually been looking for a chiro who will work on me. I think I found one I like so we'll see how that goes.
EEK! I hope your MW can put your fears to ease. NSTs make me so nervous, I think sometimes they are just to mess with our heads.
I'm glad your bile test came back okay! That is odd. I know with ICP that it can take a while to have the blood work match up with the symptoms, but if I recall correctly you've been dealing with this for a while so I'd imagine something would have come up if it was ICP. I hope it's just some weird fluke. It's amazing how much our bodies can get out of whack with pregnancy.
My appointment went well. My MW took plenty of time making sure I knew the plan would stay the same and reminded me about doing an amnio if I make it to 37 weeks. My radiologist for the BPP was great and seeing his squishy little face made me feel so much better. I posted a picture in my lodge on the Birthing naturally forum. :)
KUP on the chiro! I have heard so many people rave about them for everything from pregnancy back pain to flipping breech babies.
The itching it spreading this week, its now my forearms and lower legs also. I saw a derm and she said theres no rash and she ran a few tests that all came back ok so poo. Ive also started swelling quite a bit in the hands, arms and face. So far very little swelling in my legs and feet (knock on wood) but that with the BP spike has me on edge for Pre-e, especially since its all happening so quickly now. =/
Im glad everything went well! Its great having a provider who truely cares and takes the time to make sure you feel content and happy! I cant believe I am 31w and looking for a new OB and/or Midwife. O.o Kinda nervous! I will check out your lodge! I wish I had time to keep up with a lodge or I'd join the group there also!
I hope you can find a new provider quickly! I hope the pre-e symptoms slow down for you. Having PIH with DD in the last couple of weeks was so brutal, I can't imagine Pre-e. Stay strong mama!
