What a night!

We had quit a night!! Heidi wouldn't sleep and was very fussy (crying) and wanted to feed all the time. Then I would breastfeed her, she sucked a bit then was getting super mad, like she wasn't satisfied or something! So I said not again (Hunter gave me soo sleepless nights) so I went and gave her a bottle (formula).... Well she wouldn't take it!!!! Grrrrr
I finally gave up and woke my Dh up. He took her from 2:30 till 6 so i could sleep. Urgggggg

Oh no! I'm sorry you had such an awful night! Hopefully it isn't something she'll repeat again. Can you rest today while she sleeps?

Oh that really sucks. The babies are more likely to take a bottle from DH than me. And my twinfants still need a bottle nearly every time after I breastfeed even though I pump and I swear there is a ton of milk available. They pass out and then I hook the other one up and then the first one realizes he is not eating and voila! crying. They are starting to prefer the breast which a normal person would be happy about, but it is stressing me out. What if they will not take a bottle?!!? So... you are living my fear. Anyway, just wanted to say I hope you find a way to get some rest today, even if it is not sleep.

Oh Vicky I am sorry. I am glad you woke DH up to at least get some sleep. I agree with Tiffany about having DH give the bottle a try. DD wouldn't take one from me for a while. What bottles are you using? Maybe try a bottle again when she's not as worked up and willing to experiment?

We gave DD a bottle for the first time at 6 weeks with some pumped milk as our LC said to do it between 6-8 weeks if you want them to take one at all (easily). I still haven't done it with DS yet.

Tiffany - First, I love the term "twinfants" and second, you are a normal person. A hard working, exhausted super mom of a person and BFing is really taxing. I have been pretty lucky with DS overall (DD was really tough with nursing) but when he is satisfied by nothing but nursing non stop, I can't help but feel beside myself with frustration and physical exhaustion. I cannot fathom that with two!

Little update, DH tried giving her a bottle, she hated it but drank 1 oz at least (my milk). I will try a bottle at least once a day because i want to be able to leave her more then one hour at a time!!!
I tried 2 diff nipples and will try another one tomorrow. I want to ise playtex drop in with the brown nipples but i could only find silicone ones in my small town!!!! Was using the brown ones with Hunter, went great. So Ill try plAytex and if not i have avent bootles too and if not evenflow....wish me luck!!!!

Vicky, the only place I can find the brown nipples is at Kmart, which is 30 minutes away. Reagan does okay with the silicone nipples, but is much happier eating from the latex. Good luck!
