Tiffany, when is your due date again? Fajitas sound delicious!!! We're having pork chops, carrots, and potatoes.
I was surprised when I was pregnant with Cameron I had switched clinics. They started checking me at 37 weeks, and I'm a repeat c/s. I guess I don't see the need, and it hurt like heck. I'm getting my GBS test next week and hoping they don't check me only because I don't think there's anything going on and it hurts like crazy!
Patricia, yay for loosing your plug! One step closer!!
I lost my mucous plug with DD1 at 40 weeks and still didn't go into labor (induced at 41 weeks) I know you want to wait for Jan so hopefully it doesn't mean anything
Had my 38 week appointment today, everything looks great, I am now a full 1 cm (at 36 weeks I was 1 cm funneling to closed) now there is no funneling. Apparently my dr thought I would have baby by now, he told the nurses at the hospital to expect me? I don't know why, especially at just 1cm and no real contractions and going to 41 weeks with dd.mmHe said this weekend would be a great time to have baby because he is on call through new years lol. I want to wait until jan as well. I actually feel really good considering....but I WOULD like to have baby on or before due date, I don't want to be induced!
I am 36 weeks and next Friday would be 37 weeks on the dot. I actually spoke with my ob last night and discussed it with him. I didn't want him to call and schedule and induction and then have to cancel. I know he really doesn't want to induce me at 37 weeks unless there is a good reason - my discomfort excluded. :)
So.. we are probably looking at Jan 10. Maybe a couple days early depending on the L&D schedule. I have another a appt with doc next Thursday - advantage of weekly appts - and hopefully he can get me on the schedule. At least I know I stop working next Friday. I can make it through 4 more working days.
My friend flew up from Texas to see me for the next few days which is super nice. It is the first time she has seen me since August. I think she thought we would run around town and shop and do all the stuff we normally do together. Well, that ain't happening. But I hope we can have some fun.
That's good that you were able to talk to him and kind of get a game plan in place. Hopefully you and your friend are able to have some fun while she's visiting!
My parents actually came up as well - only for about 48 hours. It has been fun. I was able to do a little shopping yesterday. We needed laundry baskets, a covered trash can for the downstairs, an extra surge protector, etc. It was all very exciting stuff, but I had it on DH's honey do list for a long time but it wasn't getting done. My mom is going to mke us some curtains for the windows by our front door.... they have these long tall windows on either side. I am sure there will be a lot of walking around in my robe at all hours of the night, so we need a little more privacy.
Woke up with a lot of nasal drainage at 3am. I saw a ton of sick people this week at work and hope I didn't catch anything too serious. Also, I am hoping zyrtec will dry me out enough to sleep.
Still no bag packed. No car seats in the car. 12 days left max. Of course, still no labor so I am not feeling too rushed.
And I have a list thanks to you ladies.
DH took DS downhill skiing for the first time yesterday. Our local hill had a program for 4 year olds and DS turned 4 this month. He did fabulously and was so upset at having to leave. It was nice because my brother got to go as well and it is one of his favorite things to do.
At 60 pounds! (yes, some of it is fluid and babies) up, I am so ready to have them now. But I am excited that which each day we are looking at avoiding NICU time. Just also getting more afraid of how I will push two babies out with a uterus that is overstretched and also remembering that 3rd degree lac from last time.
Tiffany you are really doing great keeping these babies in for so long! Sorry for my question I didn't know you could have a vagina birth with twins but I don't know anyone who has has twins all I have is a lady at work 10 weeks with twins.
So I was nesting yesterday kicked DH and son out of the house so they could have a special day together before sister comes and I spent 5 hours cleaning the house. Then my mom picked up Dylan for a sleepover and DH and I had date night. We did dinner and the Hobbit 3D, DH said if I went into labor during the movie I would have to wait the 3 hours till it was over lol. He loved the movie it was his favorite book when he was young, I thought it was a lot like The Lord of the Rings but still really good.
Patricia - Yay for losing plug and that DS got to have so much fun with DH skiing. I can't wait until DD is old enough to take snowboarding, we have tons of mountains around here and we want to start her young if she's interested. 4 is a great age for the initial stuff. :) I'm glad The Hobbit was good. It's the prequel to LOTR hence the similarities.
Lesli - Yay for progress! It's funny how medical staff will tell you "baby comes when they're ready" and yet they all have their predictions too. I'm glad you're feeling good and are comfortable going into January. I hope you can avoid induction too!
Holly - How strange that they'd check you for dilation being a RCS though maybe they just wanted to have an idea of where you were at incase things progressed and you needed to deliver earlier? I'm sorry the exams were/are so painful, I never enjoyed them either.
Tiffany - I'm glad your friend came up to visit. I'm sure she'll understand about your not wanting to be out and about at this stage in the pregnancy, but as you said you'll find something fun to do anyway. I'm so glad you've only got the rest of the week to work before you're on maternity leave! You so deserve the break.
AFM Things are going pretty well. We had a free in home nurse visit on Friday (something my provider's office/hospital offers) that went well. DS is up to 7 lbs half an ounce so he was 4.5 oz up from discharge and half an ounce from his birth weight at 9 days old. He's definatly hitting his first growth spurt - nursing all.the.time and finally wanting to nurse both sides instead of just one and playing with the other. My engorgement was REALLY uncomfortable this time around but it resolved itself after a few days. I'm just so glad that nursing this guy is so much easier then it was with DD. DD is adjusting pretty well. She does get jealous sometimes, but we try to give her as much one-on-one time as we can. She loves holding her baby brother and helping with him so that's a bonus.
Hey ladiess im soo excited that very soon you guys will be holding your LO very soon !! Its crazy how fast December came and left !! All ready the New Year is in 2 days!! Can you believe it?!
AFM. Im ok trying to get this breastfeeding/ pumping thing down pact! Im waiting for my milk to start flowing ! Any tips beside the mothers milk tea
I'd say nursing him every two hours or as frequently as he wants, staying hydrated and resting when you can are the best things you can do to boost your supply. If you're concerned about his latch, I'd visit your local LC or LLL leader to correct that as a good latch = proper stimulation. You'll get it!

I was up late last nigt because I've bee trying to research what the right thing to do is. We are working the Financial Peace program, and when we first started, we traded in one of our vehicles for a used van. We thought we were doing the right thing because it lowered our overall debt, our montly payment, and our tags, but this van has been nickel and diming us since we bought it. We've had it fo 16 months and put nearly $2000 into it. We also need to fix a few more things....that I know will total anywhere between another $500 and $1000. I just don't know when to say enough is enough. I feel like if we trade in the van, everything we have worked for will be for nothing and it will make us hypocrites. It's not like I want to trade it in, but we've put nearly as much into it in 16 months as what we've paid for it and our emergency fund is completely drained because of the van. Aside from the stove that we had to buy this summer (because of my stupidity) all of our emergency fund has gone into this van. I just don't know what the right thing to do is.
Whoa....sorry to vent in here. I just have a lot on my mind.....and I did not slee well because of it. I dreamed about car stuff all night and tossed and turned. If we are going to do somethng about the van, I want to do it before Reagan gets here. I don't plan on going out a whole lot once she's born. I don't want her to get sick. Blah!
On another note, is anyone formula feeding? I have some Similac for senstive tummies that I'm hoping I won't need. I didn't know if any of you could use it, but I think majority of you are BF. Anyone, if anyone wants it, let me know. I'll gladly ship it out.
