DD is doing better, it's almost been 24 hours since her last fever....she has a nasty cough but at least the fever is gone....

    Lisa how is your Dallie?

Mia - how did the amnio go?

Had my appt today, my urine showed I wasn't drinking enough fluids which I'm sure is from us both being sick so I am upping my water intake, everything else looked great. Had my GBS swab (will find out results at next weeks appt) and he also checked me. I am still long but it was softening, and 1 cm but completely closed on the inside (he said like a funnel) but I am happy with that. With dd I was barely a fingertip the night I went in for my induction at 41 weeks so I am happy with my progress lol

OMG I just found out that one of the children killed in Connecticut is the daughter of a guy I grew up with, our families were really close friends, he was a year younger than me going through school but we were in the same ward (church group) growing up! So heartbroken

Lesli- I'm sorry to hear that you knew one of the victims families. It's so sad. I watched some news footage today, but I really felt sick to my stomach hearing about it so I had to turn it off. It's a horrible thing to hear about school shootings... and this one especially because it wasn't some kid being bullied, it was a grown man doing this to innocent children. Just plain sick.

Mia- How did your amnio go today???

I cannot even watch the news today this is just so said. I am sorry for all the families and people affected. I thought Dylan would be safe at school always because they keep all the doors locked but this was a kid of one of the teachers who would have known to stop him. So sad today.

I wish that I had had a raspberry donut today. I think it is funny you got a lemon one - sorry if you do not find that humerous. It was one of those days. I definitely cannot watch or read the news right now. Its a good thing I am not allowed to drink because I would pour myself a big red glass of wine right now - and that would make things worse. DS is staying with MIL tonight, we are going to a Christmas party, but all I want to do is hold my kid.

Eating dinner and looking forward to a nice weekend at home with the two people I love most in this world. Just hoping to avoid the news coverage. And I am very thankful that DS is too young to know what is going on.

Lesli, I'm so sorry to hear that. I cannot begin to imagine what those poor families are going through. My thoughts and prayers go out to your friend and the others involved in this senseless tragedy.

Mia, thinking of you! Hope your amnio went alright!

Tiffany, I'm right there with you! I'm so thankful that my children are too young to understand. Lauryn saw me crying after school and asked what was wrong. I just told her something sad happened and it made Mommy sad. I didn't go into more detail than that, and she didn't question it.

We've had practice drills at school for scenarios like this, and it is still scary. It just breaks my heart. I just don't understand it.

Ugh.....we have joined the sick bus Cameron has been sick since Friday night. It's been coming out both ends for him, so it's been pretty miserable! I'm hoping no one else gets it. I hate to use one of my sick days since I don't have a lot of them to use before maternity leave, but he cannot go to the sitter if he hasn't been "puke free" for 24 hours. This stinks!

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven't been updating on here. As you know from the other post, I was a little bit worked up from the amnio not being mature despite the whole thing going well. Had some good contractions last night, they were only 8-10 minutes apart but they were getting more intense and painful and lasted for 2.5 hours. I went to sleep thinking I'd need my energy if things geared up and of course they spaced.

Today's been good. I wanted to go do some mall walking and get a pedi to try and help encourage things, but the roads are a mess so I haven't gone anywhere since the grocery store this morning. Been having some contractions with crazy pressure that were getting closer but seem like they might be spacing now. :\ Have an NST tomorrow morning.

Lesli - I'm so sorry about your friend's child. I have family who live right around that area and everyone is just so shook up. My brother is an elementary ed teacher, it's just not something anyone would imagine. I hope your GBS comes back negative and hurray for some cervical progress! I've been told by the MWs and OBs that second go arounds are almost always better progress wise.

Tiffany - I'm glad you've got a relaxing weekend planned. I think it's good to avoid the news or reading it too much. I've been ignoring a lot of FB posts related to the events because I just can't stand it.

Holly - I am glad DD didn't ask for more of an explanation and I'm sorry that your DS is so sick. it's so hard to see them like that and have to deal with how to use your time off on top of it. I hope he's over it for tomorrow!
